Settling behind the KITM microphone in his trademark smoking jacket and monogrammed pajamas, David Waldman tipped his yachting cap to Hugh Hefner, who started/fixed/ruined/ended so much.

While Donald Trump is still determining which side of the Hefner debate can be exploited best for him, he decided to fail slower by suspending the Jones Act. Puerto Rico is Trump’s Katrina, according to the general that fixed Bush’s Katrina. A corrupt government can’t respond quickly when it’s so busy taking care of itself. An incompetent government can’t either. Donald Trump’s government is both. Even Trump is skeptical of his tax plan. The “doubled standard deduction” in the GOP tax plan is a lie, in fact the whole point of raising the deduction while abolishing the personal exemption is to screw middle-income itemizers. Really, there is no bill, or a plan, outside of the lies.

The Donald is not fit to be the President. Trump voters blame Mitch McConnell. Trump lies to his cultural base when his fiscal base lies become too complex. This might be a hit with Gimmetarians, but might lose some others. Trump and his party have unleashed forces they cannot control. They are shocked they empowered guys that act and speak like Trump, but actually believe what they are saying. They might even know what they are saying,  or when they will do things, which puts them way ahead of Donald. Why has the US expanded its travel ban to Chad, but removed Sudan? Don’t ask Trump, ask Exxon Mobil.

House Dems ask a federal judge to reject Trump’s pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Good luck, the Supreme Court is abandoning legitimacy for partisanship.

Russians impersonated real American Muslims to stir chaos on Facebook and Instagram. The alt-Right converts a Christian shooter into a Muslim, because it works for them.

Donald Trump would like you to know that his Katrina is in the middle of the ocean, but not that it’s full of Americans, full of debt, but not his debt, that he’s working all day on it—heck of a job Donny—but at least it’s not some faraway foreign place, so it might receive his love someday.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin sift through the Trump Rubble in search of the real truth. Here is what you really need to know about Puerto Rico. Here is what you really need to do about Puerto Rico... Don't forget about Flint.

Roy Moore is a crazy fringe evangelical populist, but not the Trump kind, so there’s that.

The New York Times should grapple with its coverage of Hillary’s emails, while yet aware that fact checking rarely works on boneheads, and will probably even backfire. Millennials give Trump low marks in a new poll, too bad it wasn’t in a voting booth.

Joan McCarter brings our attention to how we (yes, you) can contribute to support victims of Hurricane Maria. At least Mitch McConnell had a very, very bad Tuesday. In fact, most Republicans are having a super bad week, so far. That is why Mitch is trying to sneak a vote gutting a major consumer protection rule in, it is again time to pitch an anti-abortion vote in the House, and of course there’s always room for another assault on Obamacare.

Paul Horner, who wanted people to think for themselves and not blindly share things and made a living off of stupid people blindly sharing his things, died. Fake news is moving real crazies to shoot real people for fake reasons. Fake news uses a real beauty to attract a million followers. Then she found out, so they had to stop.

Hey! Want to know how to help Puerto Rico?  Look at this!

How ‘bout that KITM? Another day loud and clear, “Five by Five” as the kids say. Wouldn’t you like your message heard that clear? You can! Record 3-5 minutes of your opinion, or some opinion/article you admire, contact David Waldman or me and we can put it on our crystalline signal.

Donald Trump faces a difficult 48 hours. (Not because he can’t golf, most Tuesdays are like that.) Donald is pre-regretting backing loser Luther Strange over loser Roy “Ray” Moore and his Trump-sized pistol. For Roy flashing a gun is American as the Ten Commandments. There’s never enough gun-wielding at Gop meetings.

Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy debated Bernie Sanders and Amy Klobuchar after their health-care repeal defeat, but before their upcoming health-care repeal defeat… They might even choose to be defeated once again on this one before starting that one.

Facebook knows people have varied interests, and are always happy to help you with that. After all, rubles are rubles. Steve Bannon and Milo Yiannopoulos also have varied interests, but one shared interest was getting a mole into Facebook.

The giant planet scheduled to hit Earth last Saturday had to postpone until next month. We didn’t even have a little planet hit us this weekend. So, David Waldman and KITM are back to address the relatively smaller disasters striking everyone.

It is however, horrible in Puerto Rico. Greg Dworkin rounds up the latest on the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico, Graham-Cassidy, and the Anti-flag Burning Amendment Athlete Protest controversy.

The Gop bill is swirling pretty low, but might require another couple of flushes this week. It would be probably worse for Republicans if it passed, but then again if it passed it would be worse for everybody…. Therefore, Single Payer maybe? As some Democrats determine who they’ll vote for in 2016, we all remain united on the big stuff.

Barack Obama tried to give Mark Zuckerberg a wake-up call over fake news. Now we wake up to Jared Kushner using private email to conduct White House business, a Trump nominee committing voter fraud, and appointees to the Agriculture Department including a long-haul truck driver, a country club cabana attendant and the owner of a scented-candle company. Tom Price-tag wakes up and stops with the private jets.

Milo Yiannopoulos trolls for Free Speech Week, trolls after it, and will continue to troll.

Armando calls our attention to Puerto Ricohot, isolated, running out of supplies, and near desperationbut without FEMA, difficult to access by national news crews, therefore too low in television ratings to interest Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton has ideas on how to fix things, which will probably slow Donald up also. The US government needs to fix this before anyone else can.

Friday, end of the week, time for David Waldman to bring us articles and topics to ponder over the weekend. Ponder briskly, as the weekend might be getting busy, and short.

We all know Donald Trump is a dotard, we just didn’t think of that until now. Thanks Un! Trump’s also a 멍청한 아기 , so he might just dote us to armageddon thanks to his tweet war. Also—Donald alienated those Nambi-Gambi-Zambians.

Is Trump’s defining trait “idiocy”? “Insanity”? “Racism”? A tough call, but Armando chooses “crazy”. He and David search for a rule or a standard that would ever really matter in the healthcare repeal reconciliation process. Why listen to experts? Why obey the constitution? Not if winning is the only Gop goal, and it is.

Tom Price took a private jet to South Dakota to give a speech on wasteful spending.

Facebook failed to protect 30 million users from having their data harvested by the Trump campaign. Trump still uses targeted “dark ads” on Facebook to lie to the followers led easiest by lies. Mark Zuckerberg’s opinion is evolving.

The Jewish New Year, the Islamic New Year, and the International Day of Peace all coincide on the same day this year! Given that, it makes perfect sense that planet Nibiru will be colliding with our planet shortly.  End times being nigh and all, David Waldman took today off, but not before recording a new pre-recorded KITM. Today’s show thumbs its nose at the apocalypse by addressing several “tip of the iceberg” stories due to reveal themselves over time. (If time continues to exist.):

The first receipt of taxpayer funds flowing directly into Mar-a-Largo, and Trump’s wallet—$1,092 for 2 nights.

More connections between Trump’s business partners and the Russians are being discovered at the 2013 Miss Universe pageant.

The first evidence of Russians explicitly manipulating Trump supporters in real life on Facebook surfaces.

More facts, and more mystery emerges on Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who met Team Trump.

News breaks on Paul Manafort offering “private briefings” for Russian Billionaires.

All of above is of interest to Robert Mueller, who is probably linked to Armageddon by someone.

Sorry, no penis weightlifting do’s and don’ts today. However, between David Waldman and Greg Dworkin, today’s KITM manages to address all other conceivable topics — with the exception of those David reserved for tomorrow’s KITM  Rosh Hashanah Special... Stay tuned!

Norms! Donald Trump is the Normless President. Actually, his single issue, himself, reflects his supporter’s single issue, themselves. His “tone” indicates that focus to conservatives.

Fury! As if what the public feels truly matters.  It’s not just our opinion though, we need to win. Jimmy Kimmel has a right to be furious Bill Cassidy doesn’t need to lie, it just helps. Republican Senators blow a Category 5 anal smoke hurricane. CBO? What’s a CBO?

ChaosRepublican Plan B — destroy everything, anyhow.  The Gop is closing off all exits. The Koch brothers are turning off their money spigot.

She might have seemed heroic fighting alongside her daughter in the Cupcake Wars, but Kelly Roberts doesn’t have what it takes to be Ambassador to Slovenia: a transparent business record.

Tom Price used to dislike fiscal irresponsibility, but then…

Trump won’t shut up, but California hopes to censure him occasionally.

Trump’s lawyers never know when to shut up, just like the boss. Michael Cohen, who has a Trumpian daddy-daughter thing, loves the news cameras too.

People buying MAGA hats knew, deep down, their money would be paying Donald’s legal bills, but so did the big donors. Nearly a dozen cities are calling on Congress to impeach Trump over foreign emoluments. Someone figured out that the United States Coast Guard administers the charge card program for the Department of Homeland Security!

The Free Telegraph is the new Republican fake news you’ll soon be seeing cited.

Hello, and welcome to another week of Can I get a Whoop Whoop? David Waldman helps us cope with the new normal, without letting it get too normalized.

Greg Dworkin invites us to step back and look at the bigger picture. Republicans have to pass something, or they might be seen as... “failures”. So, the CBO score doesn’t matter, coverage of 32 million, including poor, children, disabled, those affected by emergency or disaster doesn’t matter. The future, near or long term, doesn’t matter, as long as they can get people to shut up about it for a moment.

People won’t shut up about Russia either. Including Donald’s own lawyers, even when they are sitting in the restaurant next door to the Washington bureau of The New York Times. Trump’s lawyers were arguing, not about the innocence of their client, but how much guilt they’d like to accept. These people who can’t avoid giving away secrets in restaurants worry their friends are wearing wires in private. Mueller doesn’t need to place wires when he can just follow the rubles to Facebook.

We can’t let Trump become normalized, although the more people get used to his use of Twitter, the less strength Donald Trump gets from using it.

David looks back into the Trump mess that was happening even before the transition.

Free Speech Week is a sham for suckers, but who wouldn’t have guessed that?

The dystopian future of harvesting organs from the poor is now.

Kagro in the Morning is a real radio show, you know, so you can listen to David Waldman and KITM live on WRFZ, Rochester Free Radio on your device dial, although it might mean missing the Francis Sawyer “You Homos” speech from Stripes each day on the usual stream.

You think David dived deep into Spy Mike Flynn’s nuclear “Marshal Plan” scheme yesterday? That was kiddie pool stuff compared to today. The grand scheme was to build nuclear plants in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world… and South Korea… and Virginia and Tennessee.

Does Donald Trump lack a rapport with Republicans that draws him to small talk, and dealing with Chuck and Nancy? Or is he a sociopathic animal only interested in immediate satiation? Trump humiliated Jeff Sessions after Mueller appointment, which should surprise no one.

Ivanka Trump, also a sociopath, knows it is unrealistic to expect her to influence Daddy. In fact it is unrealistic to expect her to perform Senior Advisor duties.

David Waldman pushes all the buttons, and pushes them well, in today’s KITM

Donald Trump proves himself the master of the “Art of the Deal, Who Said There Was a Deal? There Never Was a Deal, But If It Was, It Would Be This Deal.” MAGA!

Greg Dworkin and David discuss whether The Donald ever has a strategy with a beneficiary in mind other than The Donald. Diehard supporters are dying hard, but dying. The Charlottesville resolution will give Trump a chance to knock off a few more.

Treasury Secretary Mnuchin wanted a military jet for his honeymoon. Who wouldn’t? Good thing he knows a guy who just happens to own the ethics watchdog.

The crown prince of the United Arab Emirates snuck around in the US, and Susan Rice, United States National Security Advisor, decided that might be a national security matter. If he was here to work on a scheme to build Saudi-controlled fuel enrichment plants in the middle of America's largest naval base, plus more than a dozen other locations, then maybe it was.

Today David Waldman has the KITM media infrastructure figured out and working smoothly, because unlike Ted Cruz, he doesn’t let his staff make decisions he personally might regret. David owns his mistakes—but urges you to pitch in if you have a chance.

The Greg Dworkin twins did make a short appearance, but were soon out of there. Greg rounded up the latest on white Presidents, destroying the Gop, and sham commissions (all about the same thing) Kris Kobach’s sham commission isn’t off to a great start, as if they even cared about that, when there are votes to suppress, and guns to sell—nothing Democrats would be interested in.

When disaster hits, good people jump in to help in any way they can. Trump wants to cut corporate taxes. Some Republicans have helped out by retiring. Dems are picking up special election seats in OK and NH, by big swings.

Want to feel old? Now you can look for people you know in a Ken Burns documentary.

Joan McCarter reports that Bernie Sanders “Medicare for All” bill will be introduced with at least 15 cosponsors, a really big deal, albeit not one that will be passing anytime soon. It’s a big deal considering the tide is turning so fast that before long it will be a Republican idea.

Ted Cruz popped up last night as just another shade of the rightwing sex-cult. No soup porn... yet. If you want to spank Ted for it, get in line. David Waldman’s KITM paddle has holes drilled in it just for these occasions, but today it’s reserved for bigger asses:

Where to start—Russians or Trump? Trick question, they fade seamlessly into each other. Which we knew since the Steele dossier, and which many knew long before that. Just when you thought Putin and Trump couldn’t be more intertwined new connections emerge. Trump lied to conceal his Moscow business partners right through the election. Russia used Facebook events to organize anti-immigrant rallies. How could they get away with that? Pretty easily. Let a Russian Russia-splain American sovereignty to you.

Russia to white supremacy to Trump is a short path. The Senate passed a resolution on Monday condemning white supremacist organizations, which could force Trump to go on the record about these fine people.

Hope Hicks, how does she do it? We might find out soon!

There was a small hitch in David Waldman’s brand new KITM’s brand new equipment today, but with a few tweaks it sounded perfect. Is this the big reset we’ve all been waiting for? Only time will tell.

Greg Dworkin, who sounded great even when there were two of him, rounded up advice on Hurricanes, Hillary, and how to cover them. (And it’s the 9/11 Anniversary.) Florida awakens to flooding and devastation, with some more woke than others. Hurricanes suck. Trump sucks more. Donald Trump, always a couple pivots short of a presidency, wasn’t hired to govern, he was hired to win. Republicans can’t govern, but aren’t interested in winning, so Donald is tired of them. The biggest mistake in “modern political history” doesn’t like how Donald Trump fired James Comey.

Telsa shows the future of corporations doing whatever they damn well want.

House Democrats challenge Trump's electoral college win! Oh yeah, they did that awhile ago, maybe it’ll catch on someday.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s son sees a lot worse people than Nazis—Antifa, BLM, Jews… David Duke figures that boy might be one of the good ones.

About a third of luxury real estate hides money laundering, well duh.

Trump Tower, where everyone has a secret, and where BDSM, rape, murder, and management overreach (just some of the depths of degradation residents go to) were all detailed in a book—starring Donald J. Trump and almost a TV show—starring… John Barron.

Can you think of a better time for Rep. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.) to divulge an extramarital affair? See—you already forgot about it.

As with most days, our broadcasting day begins with Trump rage-tweets. Today, he’s mad that Republicans—whoever they are—haven’t delivered on Obamacare repeal. But speaking of Trump’s moods, he’s actually thrilled at having gotten good press on the latest budget deal. It’s fun to dream about what would happen if Dems really could manipulate Trump into doing good things just by flattering him constantly. But Republicans are still bending over backwards to protect him, presumably in hopes of hurting more people.

Immigrant-bashing right-wing-blonde-lady-of-the-moment Tomi Lahren is shown the door, but probably won’t leave America.

OK, everybody knows Facebook f*#&ed up our election. And everybody knows Russia is f*#&ing up all the elections, everywhere. It’s what they do. Once again, top Republicans knew too, but swore each other to secrecy so their party could reap the benefits. So now that we know Russian trolls were buying Facebook ads as well as circulating fake news, is it really impossible that they did their own targeting? After all, they have had some practice at it. And it’s not like our fringiest fringe kooks were keeping it a secret that they were vulnerable to manipulative political f*#&nutteryNow look at the particular brand of craziness just now spilling out into the streets. David Waldman invites us to join him at the firehose of filth. Let’s!

Greg Dworkin opens today’s tap. Donald Trump reassures us that he’s all talk and no action, nonetheless yesterday Republicans found out Donald’s very good at backstabbing. Trump’s triangulation makes the Gop’s skin crawl for once. A debate forms on who really won or lost. Democrats see this as a big win for Democrats, but Republicans see this as a big loss for Republicans. In fact, some on the right suspect Trump might not be one of them. The far right are especially aggrieved. Maybe it’s time to just quit.

The Mexicans are coming to take our tithes! Hillary haters find out they don’t like Trump either. Trump remains the president of Obama haters.

Facebook gets around to admitting they sold themselves to Russian trolls a few times… 470 of them, 3000 times. Jared and Ivanka might be appalled to hear of the investigation heading their way. Twitter might want to get their things in order also. This woman takes us on a tour of Trump’s Alamo.

Russians flock to Trump properties to anchor some babies.

David Waldman presents an echo-free KITM! And a new computer is coming, providing untold fidelity next week.

Today Greg Dworkin comes in so clear, you can almost count the number of socks he has in his dryer. Greg brings the latest on DACA, hurricanes and North KoreaHarvey woes aren’t over, Irma is a beast and Jose is not far behind. A Texas couple postpones their wedding and serves three-course meals to victims of hurricane Harvey instead. Ted Cruz demands generosity (and gets it).

Trump didn’t have the balls, nor the brains to take out DACA, but he does have a triggerman happy to step in. What’s a little abuse of public trust to a guy that always abuses trust? The Gop sets ransom demands, and the rest of us will pay dearly.

Remember when the rich couldn’t afford to get richer, and let others have some? The world changes, most change with it, except certain snowflakes

Threads fixed Twitter while becoming the literary form of the Trump era.

Devin Nunes is no recuser. Now he’s gone off the deep end, threatening Jeff Sessions and the FBI unless they tell him more about that pee tape.

Joan McCarter sounds as great as usual. The Senate is actually beginning hearings on potential legislation, unless Irma throws them off track. Donald is also doing his best to keep anything good from happening. States and insurers struggle to guess what to do. Democrats need to shut the Judiciary Committee down, and Al Franken does his part by withholding his approval of David Stras for the 8th Circuit Court.

David Waldman brings us a KITM to get us through the Mondayest Tuesday ever. Last week was Trump's worst legislative week ever, and Congress wasn't even in session.

Boy, when Donald Trump finds out Jeff Sessions cancelled DACA, he’s going to be so angry! In 6 months—approaching the 2018 elections—the beneficence of the Republican congress is due to shine through as they grant it back no doubt, just as Donald told you they should back when he had more brain cells bumping together.

Armando doesn’t buy the Trump spin, ever, and calls in to discuss what’s really happening, and going on behind the scenes. Trump calls NAFTA the "worst trade deal ever negotiated", Canada and Mexico might like a deal without the US next time.

The Right is trying to bend the narrative about Fascists and Anti-fascists, Mike Stuchbery bent it right back at them. Here’s how Russian and Alt-Right Twitter accounts work together to skew the narrative. Germany joins the fight against Russian cyber attacks. Putin denies either pitching or catching.

Hey, you got the day offgood for you! What better way to spend it, than to do whatever you want to do today, plus some David Waldman and KITM flowing through your earbuds.

Donald Trump has decided to end DACA, with 6-month delay (maybe to get it closer to the 2018 elections?). Matt Damon says the guy was always an ass. John Kelly has to keep Omarosa away from Trump so Donald isn’t triggered. Kelly finds it tough leading a despotic ball-busting baby-man.

If you are celebrating Labor Day today, maybe robots haven’t yet taken your job. Unless you are actually a robot, and you are just saying that to impress people on Twitter. If you are on Twitter you probably are a bot, in which case congratulations, you make a lot more than me. The Bot King is pro-Trump, but denies that he is Russian. The remaining humans on Twitter are mired in futile bot wars. Our Sarah Connor might end up being Valerie Plame.

Russian election hacking continues to turn up, with little attention being paid. Meanwhile, Cambridge Analytica tried a move into the Kenyan Elections, but they don’t allow crap like that there. Around the world, Denmark and Sweden team up against Russian cyberattacks and propaganda, and Norway preemptively orders a manual recount of all ballots to prevent tampering.

David Waldman brings us a KITM to finish off the week and start the month and give you a few things to think about before the Friday afternoon news Trump dump.

Olympic Alpine Skier/Nurse Alex (Shaffer) Wubbels was not authorized to violate patient rights for some blood-sucking cop in Utah. Salt Lake City police Detective Payne had his authority respected, temporarily. A Georgia police lieutenant who said “we only shoot black people” has retired/was fired. Donald Trump arms his thin blue line, and last respectable source of support.

Want to help Harvey victims? There’s ActBlue. Probably a better pick than Red Cross. Donate, but think about it first.

There were explosions at a flooded Texas chemical plant. Well not an “explosion”—kind of a overpressurization, followed by a violent containment rupture, a fireball—well not a “fireball” , the volatile chemicals are flammable—well not “flammable” more like Inflammable, that is to say you probably shouldn’t be living around there.

Greg Dworkin and Joan McCarter called in to today’s KITM via Skype. If you listened live, their voices had a strong “reverberation”, David Waldman’s did not. If you listen to today’s podcast you will not hear any echo on any voice. During the broadcast David did not hear any echo, Joan did, but Greg did not… but Armando did yesterday... Is there an audio/computer/streaming engineer in the house? Let us know which button to push!

Greg Dworkin rounds up the latest on Harvey and Houston. The worst is yet to come for the chronically ill or in need of any health assistance

We all pull together in times of crisis… OK, we used to. For the Gop any time is a good time to for tax cuts and cutting services. Donald Trump won’t allow Harvey to be like Obama’s Katrina and it won’t be, if hat sales are any guide. The same folks whatabouting Katrina really enjoy Donald’s personality and style. Republicans find themselves defending Trump’s stench, even as more of the stink rubs off on them. Still, more than a fifth of his support has smartened up.

Greg Gianforte body-slammed Ben Jacobs, promised him an interview, and is of course not planning on doing anything.

Joan McCarter informs us that the real test for Republican government starts next week. She expects them to fail. The disaster in Texas was predicted. Trump can also be predicted to attempt to route disaster relief to his wall. Here is a way to support victims of Hurricane Harvey$350K so far!

Jim Mattis isn’t contradicting Trump on transgender policy, in fact he is implementing the order exactly as directed. Mattis might have to contradict us out of nuclear war.

Donald is still a little bit short of actually running a dictatorship. The legal challenge to the Arpaio pardon begins, and it looks as if Trump can’t pardon his way out of Russia trouble.

Here is what sets KITM apart from other shows: David Waldman finds it a necessity from time to time to dig way way way into the news compared to the sources from which he borrows. Today, listen as David does the research into the stories live and finds the answers to  the questions you’d ask: Is this true? Does this check out? Is the the right answer? Things you just can’t do in print:

Two men were finally arrested in connection to the Charlottesville violence they committed in front of many eye witnesses and cellphones. In fact, David pieces together two viral images to tell the story of one moment at Charlottesville. Who was in charge at Charlottesville? It helps to know who was supposed to be in charge.

Melania put on her wading heels and went to survey the Hurricane Harvey situation. Harvey is her husband’s big chance to claim… something. Donald continues his laser focus on his image. Republicans know Trump sucks. He’s not even a Republican, who are supposed to suck. We don’t need Louise Mensch to make up stories when we have so many real ones.

Meanwhile mass shootings slide right on by on the news feed. Two dead, 4 injured in Clovis, New Mexico. What causes gun “accidents”? Negligence? Ignorance? Stupidity? Yep. The 95th child under 15 accidentally has been shot to death this year.

Week 32 of The Presidential Apprentice kicks into gear with a new challenge, the “natural disaster.” Lucky for our contestant, this is a huge, historic, chocolate cake of a calamity, because when things go wrong it will be hard to compare him to Obama.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin talk about the many dilemmas left for Texas, it is no time for self congratulations.

Donald Trump might have sucked less as a 19th century presidentJoe Arpaio might have been more secluded as a 19th century sheriff, but they didn’t allow anti-government extremists then either—and that is the least of Arpaio’s evils. Arpaio once staged an assassination attempt to win sympathy, then framed a man for it. Taxpayers paid the damages.

So, of course Trump pardoned Arpaio. Heavens! that puts Donald in “uncharted territory”! Why, he certainly crossed a line there, a bit like the last ten lines he crossed. People will become so troubled by this. Then Trump will do it again, and then he’ll do it half a dozen more times.

Armando calls in for a nuts and bolts discussion of DNC Unity, and how the charming tradition of the Iowa Caucus is an affront to democracy.

Remember when Trump said he had “no links, no loans, no nothing” with Russia? It looks like he had a lot of no nothing with Russia, including attempting a Trump Tower in Moscow while he ran for president. Maybe Trump (and Jill Stein) were trying to share Christian values… or mob connections.

KITM doesn’t bring you the news first, it just feels that way with David Waldman keenly pointing out the details of what will later become news, and fun gifs.

Trump keeps trying, but justice just won’t stay obstructed. He would’ve gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for those meddling journalists connecting the dots between Russia, spies, and him. Paul Manafort is going away for a long time, or maybe a shorter time once he cooperates with the FBI. Some more pardons to toss on the pile: Anyone connected to FL Group, an Icelandic bank connected to dodging a few hundred million in taxes for you-know-who.

You know that Steve Bannon is not your friend. Trump probably always had him pegged as well.

Donald Trump doesn’t have a tax plan. But if he did, Trump almost lost his key economic advisor Gary Cohn who was almost forced to leave because of Donald’s bigotry.

Here comes Hurricane Harvey. Trump just flunked his first natural disaster test, and then goes out of his way to endanger more.

David Waldman returns from vacation well rested, but because of the eclipse he’s only tan along his outer edges. KITM is live today and David is ready to get back to work—more than some people we know.

Greg Dworkin’s back too! Government shutdown chances are rising by the day, maybe because of Mexico’s stinginess, or Mitch McConnell doesn’t know who’s boss, or maybe because Donald sucks at what he’s supposed to do. Most feel Trump isn’t honest, a good leader, caring, level headed, strong, intelligent or share their values. Trump hopes to make up for all of that by being the hugest racist, but nope, his base is leaving him too. Daniel M. Kammen, who can spell just as well from top to bottom as from left to right, resigns his Trump post. Which “Trump” though—teleprompter-reading Trump or speak-out-his-butt Trump?

A UN committee charged with tackling racism has issued an “early warning” over Charlottesville.

What does this all mean for 2018?  Pretty good things probably. The Hillary vs. Bernie argument will still persist through 2020, as will interminable dissection of Clinton’s loss.

A guy witnessed the terror attack in Charlottesville and became Alt-Right “fake news”. A guy constantly posts fake news which becomes rightwing “real news”.

Lest anyone forget about his obstruction of justice, Donald will just do it over and over until they remember. Putin will attack democracy everywhere in case you don’t have enough evidence he’s doing it here.

David Waldman likes vacations so much, he put a vacation in his vacation during which he worked on today’s new KITM:

David finishes up the William Regnery II story. Proof that a racist can spend millions of dollars over most of a lifetime and find people that say they agree with him. Tim Gionet, thoroughly talentless idiot, would probably agree with Regnery, but already is raking it in as a Trump idiot. One more look at crying virgin nazi-boy terrorist Chris Cantwell. Does the Alt-Right attract idiots or create them? Either way, they are coming to a legislature near you... Antifa!

David Waldman remains in awe hangover after experiencing both the moon and the sun right over his head at the same time, but he does hope to return to live KITM’s this Thursday! Unfortunately, Steve Bannon and the Alt-Right continue to be relevant topics:

Steve Bannon is back baby! Charlottesville allowed Steve to “pursue other interests”. Now he’s ready to bring us more of… whatever he brought us in 2016. Like any of the Right, governing was just not his thing. So, back to wingnut welfare. William Regnery II has doled out cash to racists for decades, and is finally seeing some returns.

Know your Alt-Right catchphrases! "Duke Lacrosse” brought us Richard SpencerStephen Miller and just about every creepy jerk right now.

David Waldman’s being followed by a moon shadow, moon shadow, moon shadow... It’ll catch up with him later today, but for right now he is still producing new, but non-live versions of KITM. David is in South Carolina, but probably not visiting the state’s protected Confederate monuments. The whole point of Confederate monuments is to celebrate white supremacy. That, and to make money for statue makers. The clone army is in retreat, but might rise again if we aren’t alert. We are just now rediscovering the lost history of the only coup d’état ever to take place on American soil.

So, who the f@&$ is Steve Bannon? It’s not too late to ask that question, because he’s not actually going away like he really should. Steve Bannon stayed at the White House to advise Trump on very fine Nazis, but everyone knows Gorka’s the house Nazi, and Bannon wasn’t awfully up on Muslims, or geography. Steve Bannon’s expertise lies in climate denial, meth production, porn, and ass-kissing, but unfortunately he wasn’t meeting Trump’s standard.

A white nationalist ship refused help from a refugee rescue boat, so maybe they think they are superior swimmers as well.

No, that’s not your cat throwing up. The “Gorka-Gorka-Gorka” you keep hearing is David Waldman continuing his analysis of Nazi Sergeant Pepper Sebastian Gorka, the “Moe” of Trump’s three stooges. Gorka lost his temper, on tape of course, with terrorism expert Michael S. Smith II. Sebastian isn’t the only anti-Islamic Gorka devaluing national security judgement. Sebastian’s wife Katherine Gorka collaborates on twisting discourse, right down to altering Wikipedia articles.

There is no pretty one, but here is the ugly way Trump’s rise and Putin’s are connected. Gop campaigns took $7.35 million from a Putin pal. Trump Jr. is now tied to the banker behind the Russian money laundering scheme. Brian Benczkowski, nominated to lead the Justice Department's Criminal Division, says sure, he used to work for the Russian banks that propped Donald up, but he doesn’t anymore. In November, Russian cyberattack targeted an elections vendor tied to voting day disruptions, including North Carolina’s bluest county.

Mar-a-Lago doesn’t want Americans working there, but the Labor Department makes them ask, so…

Customs and Border Protection employees are told to ignore Congressional representatives trying to do their job, Congressional representatives are shocked to find.

John Kelly might as well start packing up his office. Hope Hicks picks up the Communications Director Job on her move up.  How Does She Do It?

David Waldman isn’t sure when “today” is in today’s new, pre-recorded KITM, but he does remember about when last week was, and he certainly can find next week on a calendar—that’s when he returns.

But how au courant does one need to be nowadays, anyhow? Throw a dart at a list of reprehensible, inhuman, unAmerican traits and actions and prescience is yours. Today’s words are: Nazi, and… Gorka. To some Sebastian Gorka is synonymous with “Nazi”, but his reprehensibility has somewhat more depth and nuance. Gorka tried to bring a handgun through airport security. He thinks the Minnesota Mosque Attack was probably the fault of the left. Gorka says people should stop criticizing white supremacists so much. He is exactly the pit bull Trump doesn’t need, which is precisely why he has his White House job. He tried pulling this stuff in Hungary, but just couldn’t find the right tin-pot dictator to hook up with until he came here.

Remember the Jewish community centers bomb threats? There have been more than 100 since the election, but the FBI arrested a few suspects so far. One was some loon trying to harass an ex-girlfriend. Another was an Israeli American teenager, who could also be a loon, but really, he was just in it for the money.

This morning David Waldman left on a journey to position himself beneath a totality, but he didn’t totally leave—he’s busy producing new programs right now in the passenger seat of the KITM minivan, and if it all works out, the show above should cover the following topics:

The Greed is Good ideology continues as core business school indoctrination, because maximizing shareholder value remains the primary goal over the wellbeing of the company, community or workers.  America’s middle class dies along with the American concept of shared prosperity.

You probably know that Donald Trump is a racist and a fascist, but did you know that Trump is a liar as well?  He is! Trump attempted to weave a parable completely out of lies to instruct his top generals.

Each sip of Fiji Water® contains more than the recommended daily requirement of shameful feelings.

Today is the last “live” KITM, for at least a week. Don’t worry—no summer reruns! David Waldman will be releasing pre-recorded shows on many timeless topics and concerns.

White nationalism and Nazis, are unfortunately a pretty enduring aspect of American life. Inexplicably, so is the Confederacy. Donald Trump calls them all “The Base”… actually he doesn’t call them anything, he just blows his dog-whistle.

Greg Dworkin rounds up news on White nationalism, enabled by the White House. The Alt-Right’s rebranding effort has failed. The Gop is more likely to vent ‘personal disgust’ for Trump after Charlottesville, which is really the only way a Trump voter has a chance to hear any bad Trump news. Americans realize the President Is Un-American, and there aren’t two sides to this question. Trump’s technique of babbling in the face of tragedy has failed him. Trump’s triangulation has failed, his dog whistle is broke, so Donald, uhh by the way says he thought Nazis and the KKK were bad all along. That’s after Merck CEO Kenneth Frazier resigned from Trump’s advisory council and Trump tried to kick him on the way out.

Nazis are getting punched here and around the world. Not nice, but neither are Nazis.

Armando calls in to discuss Netroots Nation, a place where, like Daily Kos, Twitter, and everywhere, all members of the Left respect and appreciate the viewpoints, judgements, and convictions of each other, mostly. We agree it’s time to be unapologetically progressive in 2018. Also, Comey and Mueller are pretty dreamy.

KITM continues to evolve—just this week David Waldman fostered relationships to listeners, opened new communications networks, and sharpened his skills in a variety of applications. (Consider giving him a raise before some other place snaps him up.)

Speaking of raises, Trump Hotel in Washington is experiencing soaring profits, enabling it to raise its rates even higher, allowing Donald Trump to make incredible amounts of money for a financial imbecileKim Jong-un considers cutting the payroll in Guam. Trump considers countering global warming with just a touch of nuclear winter, and no one can stop him. 60,000 Psychologists say Trump has a "Serious Mental Illness" and will have multi-city town hall meetings on October 14 (which looks so far away). Two key aides to UN Ambassador Nikki Haley have found some “family concerns.” Married former White House Communications Director Jason Miller attempts to repopulate the earth in his image.

Armando calls in from an undisclosed location, actually he’s at Netroots Nation, but he can’t disclose much as he just got there.  He’ll bring us up-to-date next week!

Two guys you do hear a lot from are Bradd Jaffy And Kyle Griffin, who step in front of the news before you read it.

Donald Trump, who works with no one, won’t be working with Democrats on infrastructure.

Good news — the Statue of Liberty is now an anti-MAGA symbol, at least to MAGA types.

David Waldman is making the new breaks on the half hour smoother, or at least more fun with each passing day. And shorter, which is definitely better.

Donald Trump loves the polls. Here’s one, for instance. In an effort to give balance to both sides, Greg Dworkin discusses the polls Donald doesn’t care for (the rest of them). Trump is heading towards Nixonian lows, and most importantly, losing his base. Republicans figure that eliminating elections would help make polling badly less irksome, but for the moment Democrats hope public opinion still has a relationship to electoral success. It will not be that easy for Democrats to use the health care vote to win back the House. If you are able to chase down an injured representative, maybe you can talk sense into them.

Professor Robert Kelly, the American expert on North Korea residing in South Korea ends up being this guy, so must have a lot on his plate right now. When Donald Trump orders the 40th infantry division to the Bloodmaul Slag Mines you’ll have one guy to thank (with royalty checks).

Armando is bummed that the most stupid president is getting advice from the most stupid television show as we head into nuclear obliteration. If we don’t all die, it will still be frustrating to watch some of the left ignore or denigrate fine policy ideas if promoted by members of the left who are not their members of the left.

Donald is taking a break from his golf club, and golf clubs, to visit Trump Tower, which is in New York City.

Oh, and this idiot got a little smarter, maybe.

Some day premium members might get a chance to hear what David Waldman says during those 10 minutes or so when his computer crashes at the very beginning of a KITM. The rest of us can only guess.

Greg Dworkin, with his pals Spinner and Paddlefoot, discuss “cargo cults”. (Honestly, what’s up with that font style?) Cargo cults confused correlation with causation, which is always easy to do. Substance needs to precede results. Now, how to get the folks that just discovered healthcare for all would be great to trust those that knew that all along...

Donald’s shaky base gets shakier. There is less real support in those polls Trump followers think are fake—leaving room for more fake support! Trump voters don’t give a damn about others. Some say Donald Trump doesn’t really care about people. Or that he’s “senselessly” cruel. But no, he actually gets off on it. A lot.

So, let’s talk about nuclear war. Who lives in Guam, anyway? Enveloping fire and fury that this world has never seen before won’t bring more economic frustration to the rust belt, will it? Bad news like this is why twice a day Donald Trump gets a folder of happy news delivered to him, to confirm his support and power before he “gets in a mood”.

Quasi–White House adviser, actual Nazi Sebastian Gorka figures the Minnesota mosque attack was a “false flag” by the left. Meanwhile, the JCC bomb-threat suspect was probably paid to do it, according to the FBI.

Speaking of the FBI, they came knocking at Paul Manafort’s door “predawn”, which is never good.

David Waldman announces that we still have nineteen million nine hundred ninety-nine thousand two hundred fifty dollars to go in our KITM August pledge drive. If we make that, I’ll weave you a tote bag.

It just seems like he’s out golfing, but Donald Trump is hard at work... watching Fox and Friends, and replaying the hard parts when their reasoning becomes too complex.

David takes a detailed look at the rules of business, and politics in Washington, before Trump tosses them out. The Trump administration is a corrupt family business, even for the Prince-DeVos families. Jeff Sessions subverts whatever rules he needs to for the boss. Sure, the Democrats can interpret the rules a bit hinky at times as well.

What ideology Donald doesn’t pick up watching Fox and Friends, he learns from Russian bots. The good/bad news is that bots get smarter every day.

KITM is growing up! David Waldman introduces 3 minute long station identification and ad breaks on the half hour. Who knows what the future might bring?

It’s a bad morning for golf, so what can Donald Trump do to be productive? Twitter would be the only answer.

Donald wants us to know his base is bigger and better than ever before. Greg Dworkin and the facts disagree. Trump’s base feels that lying is how the game is played, and Donald Trump is their MVP, but even they want something more than lies from their leader. The base still has white victimhood to bind them together. “Cosmopolitan bias” is now a fashionable phrase, but of course has an ugly history. The NRA needs an enemy, and the enemy is now the media.

Victory is ours to lose, so Democrats get cracking on that as 2018 looms closer. Greg rounds up how to win (and how not to) in 2018.

David gets procedural to remind us that reconciliation isn’t the only rule to watch in Congress. The SC Attorney General has "disturbing, highly irregular" behavior,  but isn’t that normal anymore?

The Keystone XL pipeline has survived politics but economics could kill it, requiring more tax cuts and subsidies, stat.

David Waldman, called by many Boy Scouts the “World’s Greatest Dad,” got his apps together last night in order to bring you today’s well-oiled KITM, chock full of ultramodern “two-way” conversations:

Greg Dworkin tells us there’s a new sheriff in town, but the same bad hombre. A lot of Trump guys are getting fired, and Donald Trump still continues work on taking himself down. Unfortunately, Trump remains an "incompetent player" who must be "liquidated”—according to Russia.

Donald Trump is not popular in the US either. 71% say Donald is not “level-headed”. In fact, most Americans think Trump’s mostly awful in most ways—except for being “intelligent and strong” (the two attributes displayed by only the greatest movie slashers.) Trump knows now is the time to enact some deplorable legislation for his deplorable core. In the center of all the chaos hides the greatest destruction.

Donald Trump is unbelievable. He lied about the Boy Scouts. He lied about the president of Mexico. He lied about asking the president of Mexico to lie for him. He lies about everything. He’ll lie about anything. Trump lies like his life depends upon it. At least being he’s honest about it

Trump battles “fake news” (real news) with “real news” (fake news) hosted by his daughter-in-law.

Where are the Single-Payer wonks? Everybody wants it, but it’s not so easyWhy leftists don't trust Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, and Deval Patrick.

Armando calls in to try out the Skype. Donald’s going on that golfing vacation his entire career has led to on Friday. While in DC, Graft stays at the luxurious Trump International.

Joan McCarter finally gets time to return to the show! Remember that dumb lawsuit over Obamacare payments? It's now a big problem for Trump. Donald will be checking the progress of Trumpcare from the links. Meanwhile, red states move to slash Medicaid on their own.

Chaos! Pandemonium reigns during the first 15 minutes or so of KITM, and it had nothing to do with the Trump administration! Greg Dworkin and Joan McCarter called in to say hi to David Waldman, and that’s about as far as they got before Skype issues took them away. Both return tomorrow and will take another whack at it.

Donald Trump takes a darker turn, by appealing to the whitest insecurities. Trump wants a culture war. Are Democrats ready to fight back? Maybe... Trump thinks America is a hell-hole generally, but the White House is a real dump.

Meanwhile, Donald dropped a major deuce of stories. First, there’s Trump’s Wall Street Journal interview. A full transcript exists for the hardy, but leave it to professionals like David Dale to reveal the “highlights”, etc., etc. The second news flash is that Trump found that Russian sanction bill—it’s always the last place you look—and he’s getting some whining out while he searches for new smoochable areas on Putin’s butt. Rex Tillerson is helping hold the flashlight, and has found aspects of the State department to destroy, from countering Russian propaganda, to reducing requirements for justice or democracy.

Donald always has his comrades in mind. Putin and Trump are so close, each finishes the other’s alibis. Putin and Trump are as close as Fox and Sputnik.

OK, Scaramucci is out. David Waldman is back. August is looking up.

But—Scaramucci’s, Kushner’s, Huntsman’s and Eric Trump’s emails!

Othello?

Trump’s lawyer said Donald had nothing to do with Junior’s statement. So, of course, it turns out that Donald Trump actually dictated the statement.

Trump was going to sign that Russia sanctions bill, but it looks like it was lost in the mail. Maybe they can send over a copy?

David Waldman is on the road again. He’d broadcast on location, but it’s the KITM satellite uplink driver’s day off. So, today’s show was pre-recorded yesterday, which is fine if nothing big happens today...pleaseGreg Dworkin’s back too! Just not here. Catch up with his Abbreviated Pundit Round-up.

There’s a reason they call it Zombie TreasonCare. Actually, several, but one is that it just will never die. David disputes the one budget reconciliation bill per topic interpretation, because norms have dropped like flies lately. Donald Trump offers to lend a hand to any losers not pulling their weight. If only there were more little Trumps sowed throughout government, think of all that could be done. Ron Johnson wants to take advantage of the post-nuclear wasteland.

Donald has not been the comrade Vlad hoped for. Putin says 755 US diplomats must leave Russia, although we don’t have 755 American diplomats in Russia.

Need another example of Donald Trump being a low-taste, no-class, cheap-ass, self-absorbed, double-dealing, four-flusher, including pictures of a crappy Cadillac? Here you go. Of course, there’s lots of mob ties as well.

The big news—Greg Dworkin is back from Iceland! The big debate—Noosa vs. Skyr. The rest of you can eat cheeseburgers!

Greg and David Waldman also speak of the legend of John McCain, and the night he brought down the mighty TreasonCare juggernaut...or the night he did the Gop a favor, because passing the bill would have been failure, and failure will become winning, you know. By the way, it was the women that did the heavy lifting, in both parties. Either way, a Republican loss is a win for the country. Well, on to their tax bill and other future losses.

Anyway, Trump could have told you Single Payer is the way to go, or to just give him anything without the “Obama” in it. Donald would go for anything at all if you throw Mt. Rushmore into the deal.

Even people with no sense, and awful perspective, are coming out against Donald Trump. Such as David Brooks, who eats cheeseburgers you haven’t heard of, and Peggy Noonan. Trump reminds Peggy of a whiny woman, and of Woody Allen too, for some reason.

It’s time for a @#%&! word from the White House communications director… actually, more of a @#%&! cry for help. And now ladies and gentlemen, the spotlight falls on Steve Bannon, as he… Oh my God.

The weekend won’t stop this insanity. You can prep by re-reading the constitution maybe, or brush up on your conference mechanics. Good luck to all of us!

Thursday is a big day. For Donald Trump, half the day is getting ready for golfing, the other half having to do that non-golf stuff. For Washington it’s the Zombie TreasonCare Vote-a-Rama day. Republicans will write the bill over lunch. David Waldman prepares us for the procedural activities of the day. Which leg will the Senate cut off first?

Joan McCarter is bussssy today, and David Waldman isn’t just not going to do a show and let you all down. So, that makes it Esoteric Smorgasbord Wednesday on KITM!

The Straight Talk-like Express pulled back into DC, bringing with it the status quoRepeal and replace was rejected however, with the goal to just get the bill away from them and back to the House.

What can Donald Trump do to Jeff Sessions to get him to leave? Other than firing him, of course.

David Waldman and KITM bring us the latest, greatest insight and the hottest audio levels you’ll hear today.

Donald Trump attempted to stunt the growth of 40,000 adolescent boys yesterday. Don’t worry, they will grow beyond the speech, maybe because of the speech. Don’t expect Donald to grow at all. American Psychoanalytic Association members now get to say that in public! You can’t force Fox & Friends to say anything.

Turn up the volume and you might hear Armando calling in to discuss whatever the F the Senate’s doing today with TreasonCare. Most of David’s explanations begin with “Ordinarily, it should be...”, but it turns out that it just isn’t anymore. So, listen as they figure out what it could be, and how it could be done, and how it goes off the cliff from there. While we teeter on the abyss, feel free to call up some Senators.

Week 27 of The Presidential Apprentice! Another week of the new normal and another week David Waldman explains how it is isn’t normal and the extraordinary lengths we must take to get back to the normal-normal.

Exit Spicey, enter the Mooch, who kind of hates Donald Trump, but kind of loves money, so he’s in. He has the advantage of arriving pre-parodied, and so far regret-free.

Jared Kushner arrives at the Senate with all of his alibis now in order. (TBD) It looks as if “talking to Russians about adoption” is what they call it now. Jared used to call it “talking to Guccifer”. Get ready to hear more about The King of Diamonds, Lev Leviev.

Not that he’s guilty or anything, but Donald Trump is looking into pardoning himself. We’re on the brink of an authoritarian crisis. Now what’s our best hope—the wisdom of a Republican Congress, or a good case of goutDavid Waldman explores the former in today’s KITM. Maybe as few as three Republicans in the Senate would need to see the light…

Time for the record scratch sound effect as we back up 24 hours to see how we got into this mess. Donald was cogent, engaged, on script for minutes, then he talked to The New York Times. He made the usual dozen or so crazy, stupid lies, but then he wondered aloud what he was paying Jeff Sessions for, and why did he ever hire that Robert Mueller, etc. We knew for a while that Mueller was targeted, as Team Trump seeks to control and block Mueller’s investigation. Now they are investigating Mueller’s investigators. Or, maybe he’ll fire him, just because.

So why, when they have a perfectly good opportunity to collude, do Trumps decide to gab on about adoption? Well, “adoptions” is code for “sanctions”, and it really isn’t about the children, at least it’s never about kids to Vladimir Putin. For Trump voters, however, “sanctions” is code for “adoptions”, which is what makes it interesting to Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, not the sharpest tool in the shed, sat down for yet another exclusive interview with his nemesis, The New York Times. This should produce a bit of “real news” today, so go ahead and read the excerpts to soak in the dumbness. Six months in, Trump hasn't passed a single bill of 10 he promised to pass in his first 100 days, not even TreasonCare. Trump can’t make a health care deal because he doesn’t understand health care.

Not much Gop legislation is probably a good thing, but that leaves David Waldman and KITM to explore the seamy underbelly of the Trump organization… Irakly “Ike” Kaveladze is the 8th person to pop out of the Russian collusion meeting tied to Donald Trump Jr., and might be most important in defining what happened. Did wishful thinking and conspiracy sites lead Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort to arrange the meeting? Paul Manafort owed big bucks to pro-Russia interests before he became President Donald Trump’s campaign chairmanthen he made (exactly the same number of) big bucks.

Then there’s Dana Rohrabacher, who hooked up with Putin before it was cool. Rohrabacher’s aide was tossed under the bus over Russia connections, but that won’t be enough to cover Dana’s tracks to Moscow last year, a secret document he received, his attempt to alter sanctions legislation and to set up a virtual show trial on Capitol Hill. Dana Rohrabacher is dirty… very, very dirty.

Banks made billions of student debt disappear with this one weird trick.

One sunny day Donald was playing with his wonderful trucks, and having a great and very beautiful time, believe me. Then, all at once everyone was talking about how his wonderful, very wonderful Trumpcare bill was just too great, and beautiful! Donald decided it was not his Trumpcare bill anymore, and he would make it die... “Cheer up Donald!”, pleaded his friends in the Gop. Eat some treats, and we’ll dream of future good times! “We might not be allowed to kill things today, but we can still hurt them—a lot!” Mitch, the evil turtle said...

So, it wasn’t a fairytale ending, David Waldman and Joan McCarter remind us. We can recognize the victory, but will need to keep fighting. Mitch McConnell has run out of excuses for not accomplishing anything. Did Republicans underestimate the difficulty of TreasonCare, or overestimate the abilities of McConnell? Either way, they will try, try again.

Back to the rot at the top. Jared Kushner will of course keep his security clearance, of course Trump colluded with the Russians to defeat all opposition, including Republican, and of course Trump talked more with Putin than he told you about. Did you know Donald’s wife is great and very beautiful?

The Republicans' signature campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare was halted yesterdayWEE OH WEE OH! Beeee OooHDing! Ding! DingVrooooom!

David Waldman delves into the factors and events leading to the collapse of TreasonCare on today’s KITM. Trumpcare’s not dead though, because its health and well-being is of utmost importance to Mitch McConnell... more than anything or anybody, other than himself of course. Repeal-only is fine, when you consider that goal, and that he doesn’t mean anything he says.

Donald Trump wonders what any of this has to do with him. After all, he has signed more bills than any president, ever. (He hasn’t.) A Toronto hotel tears down Trump, disappointingly not using Marines. The United Arab Emirates get in on the hacking craze with Qatar.

Hey, another weekend, probably pleasant, not yet spent under smoking rubble in a crater. Not bad at this time as you might have pictured, or maybe exactly as bad as you pictured. Listen as David Waldman, nailing boards over his windows pell-mell, smoothly delivers another KITM:

The Trump campaign had abundant opportunities for Russian collusion at Don Jr.’s meeting, including Rinat Akhmetshin. Rinat has been described as “Russian 'Gun-For-Hire'”, and “a Master of the Dark Arts”, so he probably catered in the nothingburgers for the event. Here is how the Trump Jr. meeting fits into the larger Putin game plan.

Donald Trump and Montgomery Burns’ lawyer Jay Sekulow didn’t have much to say, but a lot of places to say it over Sunday, so he suggested The US Secret Service vetted the meeting. The statement was believable for about a minute, then someone asked the Secret Service

Keeping its priorities straight, the Trump administration focused on settling personal vendettas with fellow Gop member Jeff Flake.

David Waldman is presently in transit this AM. Instead of a tracking number, David has supplied us with a pre-recorded KITM.

Donald Trump just hurried over to France to win that handshake once and for all, and will soon rush back to conquer women’s golf. So, you can then understand his frustration when all Trump ever hears is Russia, Russia, Russia! Well, that is what today’s show is all about:

We know Junior’s meeting with Paul Manafort, Jared Kusher, Rob Goldstone, and Natalia Veselnitskay also had a “translator”, who was also a “spy”. We knew Dad Trump was lying about the meeting, now everyone else knows too. They still want us to believe that this was the only Russia collusion meeting, but of course not. Some would think that the worst that could happen to Donald would be that Pee-Pee tape. But really, Trump has no shame. However, if Donald Trump were to have spent his entire adult life laundering money for mobsters, Russians, and Russian mobsters and those dealings and dealers were then exposed, a Pee-Pee tape would seem pretty inconsequential wouldn’t it? Peter W. Smith, the Gop operative who sought Clinton's emails from Russian hackers, committed suicide... records show.

Speaking of the Mob, Marc Kasowitz, Trump’s Russia Lawyer, won’t get security clearance because of alcohol abuse and behavior that left employees uncomfortable, writing emails saying “I'm on you now. You are f**king with me now Let’s see who you are. Watch your back, b**ch. Don’t be afraid, you piece of s**t. Stand up. If you don’t call, you’re just afraid.” “I already know where you live, I’m on you. You might as well call me. You will see me. I promise.” … for instance.

How do you, Dear Reader/Listener, cope with such an influx of political news, information, and knowledge inundating you on a daily basis? Why, you listen to KITM as David Waldman, and quite often Greg Dworkin sort it out for you! Today they sort it into two heaps—Russia and Health-Trump-Treasoncare:

Republicans say they can, but they still can’t design a workable plan. Nickleback is getting tired of being called the Senate health care bill of pop music. Mitch McConnell is running out of goodies to pass out and so is losing Senators’ attention, and running out of time. Like everyone else, Republicans kind of like Obamacare, but we all know they can’t say that. Moderates like it too, and thus won’t cave like McConnell hopes. But seven years of hatred is hard to pivot on. Doctors still care and are getting things done. Ted Cruz still doesn’t care, but his provision is in the bill. Meanwhile, over in California, Democrats who never do things “together”aren’t in line on Single Payer.

On to Trump-Russia, and the day Trump finally became President… and finally became a father.

Don Jr.’s emails are far more damning than anyone could have imagined. But, is being damned really a “sin”? Trump supporters don’t know the meaning of that word and others.

Now all roads lead to Jared Kushner. Now, that’s collusion! When this breaks, Donald Trump will have to tweet a link to the Pee-Pee tape just to get some attention. Jared’s repressed memories are all coming back to him now, over 100 of them.

Republicans, of course want to get to the bottom of this mess. So, on their path to subpoenaing Hillary, they blame Natalia Veselnitskaya. Stupidity like this can’t be faked, so let’s look into this. They could look into Jeff Sessions, but it’s a secret.

Maybe Trump will find answers in France. Like, what is Bastille Day? What’s on TV? What can I grab?

Is buying luxury goods a survival skill in our culture?

Who to pardon? Who to bomb? Where to golf? Donald Trump’s weekend starts tomorrow, but it almost looks too hectic for him to take time off. Eh, the place pretty much runs itself...

Until one of his little Fredos mucks it up. This kid was dropped on his head as a child! David Waldman and Greg Dworkin keep us abreast of a situation so crazy, even the spin is spinning out of control. Trump Sr. is 15 minutes dumber than Junior. Democratic House candidates were also targets of Russian hacking. Tucker Carlson finds out that Putin’s not cool anymore.

And—don’t forget Fredo-in-law still has security clearance. The Trump-Russia investigators are looking at Jared Kushner’s Trump campaign digital operation. Here’s how an alleged Russian hacker teamed up with a Florida Gop operative.

While all of this is happening, the Republicans continue to fail at governing. Here is what we know about TreasonCare. Maybe the Democrats will be invited to board the Titanic to help bail them out. Voters figure that can’t hurt. The Senate debates what goes into the bill before the parliamentarian this week.

Enter, Joan McCarter, with her DC acumen. Republican leaders are frantic to pass TreasonCare before everything falls apart. For those nostalgic for sick children and bankrupt families, TrumpCare has a lot to offer. Mitch McConnell worked out a schedule to bring it to the floor next week… just in case that doesn’t work, August recess is being moved to the end of August. As for Trump/Russia, well, first you need to get them talk about it.

Did you know that each date this week is a palindrome, in that the date reads the same forward as backward? Heavy, right? While you ponder that, David Waldman also has this Tuesday excogitation to prepare you for this news cycle once Trump pops like a boil… uhm actually he’s full of...

OK. So, you heard about Don Fredo Trump meeting with the Russian operative? He kind of walked into a rake on that one. Now, the whole scheme’s unraveling, there is a beautiful, delicious email trail, and Don’s third version of events is about due, although it probably won’t help him much. Pence 2020

Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya has been connected to the Trumps before, because they’ve done bad things with Russia before. Natalia says Don Jr., Jared and Manafort were begging for it. Does it matter who wanted it first?

Moving on to other international corruption, Jared Kushner tried and failed to get a half-billion-dollar bailout from Qatar. Donald Trump said Qatar funds terror. Trump wanted it to fund him.

And there’s Trumpcare. Not going to happen.

David Waldman brings us whatever godawful week of The Presidential Apprentice it is, along with its spinoffs, Son and Daughter of Presidential Apprentice. In this episode, Donald “Fredo” Trump Jr. has been shopping for those huge beautiful Kremlin ties for his dad...

Greg Dworkin rounded up a ton of news on Russia and the Trumps—and that health care stuff too. Looking at the Trump-Russia timeline puts it all into perspective. It is all adding up for everyone, except maybe Team Trump and Team Pepe. Donald’s boy really wanted to be a good colluder for Dad, too bad he now has to take that ride to the middle of the lake to fix things for Jared. Real news now comes in music videos. Oh no! It’s A COOKBOOK!

Meanwhile, Trump-Russia will protect us from the cyber, or maybe not, or something. Also Trump sowed chaos at the G-20, while still the laziest world leader.

Taking a knee in the middle of fighting for Trumpcare appears to be a bad strategy for the Gop. Donald Trump doesn’t know what to make of these Republican’s lack of winning. Rural GOP senators notice they have voters. The best plan might be to win by losing, and join with somebody they can blame, like Democrats. The difference between “public option” and “single payer”.

Want to influence the Democratic party? Try joining the Democratic party. Want to influence the Republican party? Tell them God sent you.

Top Twitter chatter this morning: Office of Government Ethics chief Walter Shaub can’t even anymore. Podestamania is runnin’ wild, as Trump reports for his first quarterly performance review, and says bigly words to people in Poland.

Greg Dworkin wasn’t with us on the air today, but he had a number of great suggestions for discussion and weekend reading: Mike Gerson goes there. There are many reasons to fear Trump pushing us into a “clash of civilizations.” One I hadn’t thought of before is, we may be going in unarmed.

Felix Sater is back. And he’d like people to think he’s flipped on Trump, I guess. Did he? Does he think he did? Does he think he didn’t, but will end up screwing up and doing it in the end, anyway? Stay tuned.

Rachel Maddow and others raise the alarm on a dangerous new strain of fake news. Kris Kobach’s fake komission wants to store your voter data in the least appropriate and most illegal way possible.

David Waldman’s Hzaard shelf fell on him, he’s OK, but now it’s brökn. It’ll take more than that to take a new KITM from us!

Greg Dworkin brings David, and us, the latest: Donald Trump, shopping for an Ottoman, is today’s least funny Polish joke. As Trump sows chaos around the globe, most G20 countries, including the US, see Merkel as leader of the free world. Retired general David Petraeus figures the world could just ignore Donald from now on. Trump dwindles to just a brand pasted on Obama’s ISIS plan. Felix Sater, Russian with crime links, of course has dirt on Trump, and has flipped

Almost every state is rejecting the Trump/Kobach crackdown on voting, some of them even out of principle. If we can still vote in 2018, we might win. Already many are out there newly motivated, including Jackson, MS mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba, a name striking fear as far as Tennessee.

The Gop promises lower health premiums and higher out of pocket on useless insurance, plus extra freedom. Support for single-payer health care is on its way to becoming the consensus position in the Democratic PartyHey everybody, Ted Cruz has a plan! Here's the thing you have to understand about Ted Cruz. Al Franken hates Ted Cruz.

David takes a deep dive into a big story: What Happens if the election was a fraud? A two vote lead is a very tight win.

Trump transferred wealth to his son while avoiding the usual taxes. Here is one example.

New Jerseyans aren’t letting their beach bum of a governor off the hook just yet.

Greg Dworkin and Joan McCarter are on hand to keep us on track with both the latest headlines on all fronts, and the long game on Trumpcare.

Congress has been in recess for the holiday, but the majority of Republican Senators are simply ducking their local July 4th parades, rather than face constituents anxious and angry about the Gop proposal to ruin everything for money. Republicans who’ve been notable holdouts felt more comfortable appearing in public, but even then only in measured doses. And no Trumpcare discussion is complete without taking yet another stab at explaining procedure.

On the international front, Trump has failed to rein in North Korea and has been unable to get whatever trade concessions it is he’s looking for out of China. And now, he’s on his way to the G20, where people think he’s an idiot. In all of which he’s backed up by alleged Secretary of State Rex “Everything” Tillerson.

Not that any of this means anything to Trump’s base. But screw those guys.

And hey, here are two curve balls I bet you didn’t think Greg would throw you: Ancient Romans made the best concrete, and it might help us hold back rising seas, and; a leopard may not be able to change its spots, but any two cheetahs can swap their skin.

Joan McCarter notes most Republican Senators are dodging their constituents, but are those who aren’t hearing what people are really saying? Don’t leave it to chance, though: keep calling! Especially as Republicans begin reaching into their bag of tricks, to create excuses for holdouts to vote yes on somethinganything!—in the end. Keep an eye on Murkowski, though. Just sayin’.

Unity at last! Trump fans think Thomas Jefferson is trash, and so do progressives!

It’s getting so you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting evidence of collusion.

And yes, we’ve heard about the GA-06 lawsuit.

Yes, a brand new LIVE show on July 4th! Because America! And also, I was already awake.

During that brief period for which I was asleep, North Korea launched another missile, but Donald Trump has anger-tweeted them, so don’t worry about it.

In the meantime, we use the holiday quiet period (minus the threat of rogue nation nuclear missiles) to catch up on Jay Sekulow’s sekret sektarian skimming, s(k)pecifically that of his son Logan, a racket that netted him nearly a million bucks, and which began at the tender age of 18.

A Florida judge has drawn the line on the state’s newly expanded “Stand Your Ground” law. It may yet be erased, but it gives us another opportunity to discuss the inappropriate short-circuiting of long-established principles of law, because guns are cool and gun owners shouldn’t be bothered with the responsibility of abiding by the law, because they're so law-abiding and stuff.

Only KITM would take you on this extensive a tour of the definitional minutiae of the emoluments clauses. But you can’t tell the players without a program.

And finally, yes there is evidence of collusion. And plenty of it. Even Republicans are starting to acknowledge it.

Wow, people sure behave idiotically around the 4th of July... especially the idiots. Smart people will listen to today’s KITM as David Waldman catches us up on the holiday weekend and sets us up for the holiday week.

Particularly smart Greg Dworkin continues to focus on the Republican quest to destroy Obamacare and move profits to rich people. They don’t like to call it that, because voters wouldn’t want to hear that. Credit the local press for telling it like it is. The Gop got themselves into this because it was winning them elections. Now that they are being held to their promises, they are dropping the “improve” promises, and keeping the “destroy” ones. Polls are showing this strategy could crush Senate Republicans. Alas, Senate Republicans need to destroy things until 2020 before they’re in trouble.

Maybe the Democrats shouldn’t totally rely on the Republican’s destructive behavior to build the Democratic brand, as Americans' confidence in institutions starts to edge up. Trump’s enemy are any public institutions not centered on him. That’s why the White House daily briefing is in such trouble, because insane tweets and comments are directly profitable, and his voters absolutely do not care. CNN should have stood by its reporters.

Another fake “patriot” accidentally discharged, at a fake uprising, with a possibly un-”patriotic” flag, his real gun. Maybe he was this guy?

The Pence-Kobach crackdown on voting is going as well as expected, with even Kris Kobach refusing to comply.

Why weren’t Ryan & McConnell worried that Russian interference would hurt Republicans? Because they knew it wouldn’t. Here is how one gets recruited to collude.

Trump contractors were being screwed long before us, still are, and will be for a long time to come.

Don’t quit now! David Waldman and Greg Dworkin remind us we are in the middle of a life or death health care battle, and no where near the end. Call up those senators! Raise a ruckus at next week’s parades!

Without a win, conservative media wanders away, because it’s about wins, not anything else. Donald now has better things to pay attention to, although he wasn’t ever really paying attention. The worse part of Obamacare for Republicans was the “Obama” part, really. Now they know they hit a wall, their bill is kryptonite, support is fabulously low, even with the base, even on Fox. New Gop fixes include bribing moderates, bribing wingnuts, and relying on the continued ignorance of Medicare recipients… maybe the Democrats are ready to negotiate? Topher Spiro has a bipartisan health care fix.

Meanwhile, Republicans just want government to end, at least governing. Chaos is the Trump standard, here and abroad. America first is becoming America alone. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is pretty happy with ruining international relationships, but is not going to move in down the hall from some Russian mobsters!

Is the press appeasing Trump? What methods will ever work?

In GunFAIL: When a book miraculously stops a bullet in the movies, it’s a miracle… and it’s a movie. So don’t try that. Hey, that’s not gravel on NH Route 101!

So, did we... are we going to attack Syria again? Or was that some sort of official White House butt-dial last night? Goofing around like this could really irritate Donald Trump’s supervisors, and they’re about his only friends in the world.

Trump also continues to hone his domestic political skillsbut Trumpcare is hitting some snags, with Ron Johnson making the fourth Gop defector, and with tens of millions of people realizing they are being uninsured. Mitch McConnell still has about 188 billion tricks up his sleeve, if anyone will fall for them.

Put on more sunscreen than David Waldman, get outside and have fun! Remember to pack your earbuds though—you don’t want to miss today’s KITM:

Trumpcare is incredibly awful, astonishingly unpopular, and a failure all around. It is feared and hated coast to coast, but remains a make or break moment for Trump et al. So, how do the Republicans sell this nasty health care tax bill? Lie about it. Here are 3 lies they are using. Here’s another.

Mitch McConnell also has designed the bill to let crocodile-tear senators amend it and claim victory. Greg Dworkin is here to explain that this is precisely the reason that backchannel negotiations might be the way Obamacare is rescued. It’s why Greg whispers “Cassidy-Collins” into ears at cocktail parties. Meanwhile, the CBO score will be the topic to bring up. The CBO score will show millions will lose coverage under the Senate health care tax bill. The Medicaid cuts will hurt even more

The largest gun organizations in Connecticut are getting behind Remington to fight families of 10 Sandy Hook shooting victims.

Ivanka Trump, Senior Adviser to the President, with her own White House office, secure phone and such, tries to stay out of politics. So, when does her dad get out? Be patient, it’s coming.

The current Russia fetish on the right is about white supremacy. White supremacy has been a priority for many in the US for a long while. Six Nazi spies were executed in Washington DC and white supremacists gave them a memorial on federal land.

Russian bikers are connected to Putin. American bikers to Trump. Putin’s connected to American bikers. They are all connected to Trump.

All this, plus Rosalyn MacGregor reports on the upcoming 2118 Gubernatorial race, and the issue of a “part-time legislature”, and who stands to gain.

It's a summertime Friday, and I'm on the road. But I couldn't leave you for the weekend without some fodder for clever conversation.

Trump’s buddies at Bayrock, including the infamous Felix Sater, are back in the news, somehow. And it's always a good time to remind people of Trump’s weird affinity for shady Russian characters. So we do.

What does history teach us about dealing with political leaders who are incompetent or outright insane? Well, that’s typically only a problem in royal courts. But the Trump “administration” has much more in common with them than it does with ordinary American presidencies. So maybe it's worth a little review.

Speaking of royal courts, here's a helpful backgrounder on what's been going on between Saudish Arabia and their neighbors in Qatar.

Our trusty Michigan correspondent Rosalyn MacGregor gives us a preview of the Democratic field in the 2018 gubernatorial primary.

Shifting the focus back to Trump, his Office of Government Ethics financial disclosure has some less-than-surprising news: he's making a fortune off the presidency. And remember when that one year of Trump’s tax filings (2005) mysteriously became public, and was the only year in the last 20 or so for which we had any information, and was curiously favorable for him, showing he'd made significant tax payments? Has he been getting that payment funneled right back into his pockets as refunds since then?

And in late-breaking Thursday news: Trump’s stunt at the Carrier plant crumbles, as usual.

Remember how life was, back before the Senate Republicans released their Trumpcare bill? KITM does. In fact, today’s entire show was recorded in those more innocent times, making David Waldman and Greg Dworkin’s prescient analysis even more trenchant... So quit being distracted by the “new” news and listen to this stuff first!

The Senate say they have some divisions in their ranks on their health-care tax bill, but really, they knew what it wastax cuts for the rich, and Medicaid destroyed. Republicans know opposition to the House bill has doubled among even Republican voters, but they bet this won’t matter for their reelection, and they are relying on the media forgetting before 2018. So—deductibles and out-of-pocket go up? Yep. Lives of the neediest on Medicaid ruined or destroyed? Sure! Strangle Planned Parenthood? Of course! But think of all of the regulations and taxes going away! Mitch would be happy to throw out a lot of Senate rules to make that happen.

All of this distracts from Trump’s Russian collusion, as Dan Coats and Mike Rogers could tell you, but no, not the President. Today was not the day Donald trump finally became president, because he remains a candidate, and somehow he’s the worst at that too.

David Waldman presents a special Summer Solstice KITM, the day when the takes are the hottest. Greg Dworkin’s advice to beat the heat: Remember, what's important isn't always what's talked about. So Handel won... Time for the hindsight analyses! Time to retake the takeaways! Time to wonder what is wrong with us, again, and again! And those Trump voters! Why do they keep hanging around? Who do they think they are? And does anything matter, ever, to them?

Joan McCarter’s hot tip: Try to hold Republican senators accountable on Trumpcare. Go ahead, try. They might complain about Trumpcare, but of course won’t do anything about it. Mitch McConnell knows no Republican will stop him. He knows Trump won’t stop him. He knows the Democrats might cause him a lot of irritation, but he’s made sure the public will be in the dark until it’s too late. Meanwhile, some believe auto jobs are returning, and the Republicans are pro-women.

It's so hot in Phoenix, they can't fly planes.

David Waldman and very special tri-weekly guest Greg Dworkin focus our attention on the issues coming up this week—and better yet, put some distance on last week’s crap. A 17-year-old Muslim girl was kidnapped and beaten to death. A van plowed into a crowd of worshippers near a mosque in north London. But, you know, they’re Muslims... and, that SOB talked on that POS show, on Fathers Day, no less. Public pressure helped, but won’t undo the damage done. Here’s a clarifying fable about the problem with interviewing evil.

Speaking of damage done, let’s revisit what really happened in the 2016 election, shall we? The House Russia investigators want to bring in Trump’s digital director. The Trump team prepared for failure, but relied on anger, fear, bigotry, hatred and despair: A win-win! This Trump house of cards could fall under the slightest pressure, so boy is the Georgia special election important.

Not to alienate any subsection of society... but rural America did lift Trump to the presidency. There is a deep cultural divide between rural and urban centers. In rural America, there are fewer immigrants and less tolerance. In fact, racial intolerance is part of the culture, and economy. They believe every fight Trump has is for them, so every fight they have is for him.

Armado shows up at the end of the show to discuss whether trademark law is the venue for social change. (nope)

Great news! Another week of Presidential Apprentice is in the can. During the weekend most of us will still get our news unfiltered from Donald, but this is your last chance to hear it straight from David Waldman—until Monday when we start all over again, probably

Rod Rosenstein and Donald Trump work on their ventriloquist act, but right now you can still see Trump’s lips moving.

David takes a deep dive into the shallow pool of Trumpcare, which is really, obviously, just a tax cut bill. That makes it hard for Republicans to explain, if they need to talk about health benefits, but easy to pass, if they don’t tell you what they are doing. They are also looking into how they might ruin things twice as long as they are now allowed.

You might be scarfing vols-au-vent, buffalo wings or even zakuski with your cocktails Saturday night, but in-between you still need something to talk about. David suggests the now combusting Saudi-Qatar rivalry, or maybe a discussion of the three prongs of the Russia investigation.  Either way, don’t expect Lynne Patton to lay out your soirée—she has a government job now.

What? David Waldman and KITM politicize? Sure. Because politicization is what Americans use to fix things

Greg Dworkin brings a list of issues that need immediate politicization. Yesterday Steve Scalise and others were shot by a gunman. (Actually many others were shot by a gunman yesterday.) Here are some facts about the Alexandria shooter. Here are some lies.

Meanwhile, the Gop remains fantastically hypocritical and anti-democratic, and they are utilizing those traits to move Trumpcare along. Republican senators are unaware of any Health Care details, but that’s OK as long as you are also in the dark. We do know a few things. Trump thinks it’s mean. It could cost nearly 1 million jobs. Out-of-pocket costs—deductibles and copayments—would skyrocket. Annual and lifetime limits on healthcare benefits will hit millions, and waivers would amount to a pre-existing condition exclusion for pregnancy, mental illness, and substance abuse

The only thing Donald does better than lie is conflate, but lying and conflating might have gotten him in trouble now. Everyone knows about Trump’s Russian collusion. Robert Mueller is following the money as it flows into the Oval Office. How much longer can this go on? Newt fights the deep state. Trump gives graft such a bad name that participants are laundering their money on the down-low. At this rate, people might soon lose respect for the guy.

Neighbors described a local raccoon as a quiet loner, but one day...

Refrigerators are repaired in your home. Teeth are not. David Waldman is busy confronting this brutal paradox today, and therefore is not available to present KITM live. He did record a brand new KITM, however. It is yours for a tap of the above link!

Yay! Donald Trump is one year older today. A rich old white guy with the temperament and social media skills you’d expect. But then he hooked up with Robert Mercer and his million bot army, which so far looks pretty smart. Too bad Trump’s social media director isn’t smart enough to avoid the Hatch Act. Megan Kelly’s new handlers think they’re so smart to create buzz by inviting Alex Jones to spread conspiracy lies to new millions.

The internet still has a little life, and has some capability left to also spread the truth. It is easy to hear Trump lie, but back in the day sometimes he would be forced to tell the truth. Sort of. Trump says Qatar funds terror. Here’s his record of trying to get it to fund him.

David looks into the secret Trumpcare deals happening now. Joan McCarter will have a few things to say about that when she gets a chance to return to the show. The flexibility that Obamacare lent to the work force Is threatened by the Gop plan.

Well, we found out what a conservative utopia looks like. Can they just give up now? Kansas finds it can’t cut taxes to fix all problems, and needs to create whole new ways to lie to itself.

David Waldman wonders if anyone in class can guess the subject of today’s KITM... Anyone? It is Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Donald Trump did not have a problem firing the last straight arrow closing in on him, FBI Director… Anyone? James Comey. David gives an comprehensive analysis of the procedural tactics the White House might use to fire Mueller, which is pronounced… Anyone?... Mueller?... Mueller?... Mueller?—as well as the countermeasures that will be used against those tactics.

One tactic will be the bald-faced lie. Picking ethics over partisanship might have been easier during the Nixon era. Now obstruction of justice goes into your LinkedIn profile.

Is this the end of our government? Russia kind of hopes so, although they were aiming at President Hillary’s government. They are working hard to get it right the next time, one way or the other.

Is David Waldman’s refrigerator fixed? Who knows? He teased us the entire show, but it all ended on a cliffhanger. Come back tomorrow for an answer!

Greg Dworkin lets us know that some people are just morons and there’s nothing we can do about it. Maybe they just want to piss us off. Whatever. Many of those people will never change. The good news is there aren’t a lot of them, and some of them might even tip someday—at least enough to tip elections. Donald Trump has been inspirational to our side, which a lot of Democrats, and Republicans knew was going to be the case. But, is Donald the problem, or a symptom of a broken Republican Party? Well, we all have him now, for a while.

Americans trust James Comey Over Trump, natch. Comey did nothing wrong as a former official and everything right as a whistleblower

Barron couldn’t find his “I’m with stupid” shirt for moving day to the White House. It’s a high bar, but Ivanka is now the most emo Trump. Julius Caesar is depicted as a fat old white guy. Who would mess around with Shakespeare to make a comment on present day life?

Will Congress stay up late to get their homework done?

D.C. and Maryland are suing Trump for accepting payments from foreign governments. The DOJ lawyers are taking the other side. Maybe $10,000 is steep, but if you really need a room...

David Waldman finishes out Infrastructure Week with an appeal for funding.  You aren’t just paying for the basics here.  David and the rest of the fab four of KITM, Greg Dworkin, Armando and Joan McCarter bring you specific expertise and knowledge you just won’t find anywhere else. Be a KITM groupie today!

Donald got his phone back, and tweets a thank you to that lying perjuring leaker James ComeyArmando calls in to give the legal perspective on Trump councel counsil counsel’s strategy for the Predisent President. Jeff Sessions may have had a third undisclosed meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Qatar is getting a lot of attention for a place Trump might not have heard about until recently. Even though Donald’s probably a big fan of their government, Qatari won’t be eating beautiful Mar-a-Lago cake anytime soon.

Jon Ossoff is in the lead for the GA special-election with a couple weeks to go! While you’re helping there, call some senators, and help fix the secret back-door Trumpcare situation, even as Republicans stumble over every (predictable) reconciliation obstacle.

Next week’s scandal: Rep. Chris Collins bragged about the money he’s making for members of Congress with his insider stock tips!

Why can’t we quit obsessing over this Comey thing, which is just distracting us from… wait. We are paying attention to the thing we’re supposed to today! Yay!

Yes, history is happening live right now—but you need to listen to David Waldman, Greg Dworkin and Armando work this over first. We are on our way to getting to the bottom of this, although there may be no bottom to the lowness. The scandal is what’s already known, it’s just the details to fill in now. Whatever bombshells Comey drops today, they'll have a tough time competing with what we already know about Trump and Russia.

Of course the President, now totally vindicated, can move on. The Right wishes we could move on, but the Alt-Right can’t move at all because their head is spinning from so much winning. Still, there are some that call Donald Trump a huge loser, including Russian sex workers, and the former Miss Hungary

Let’s move on to the upcoming Qatar-Russia-Turkey-Saudi-Flynn-Lewandowski-Trump scandal, shall we? Throw in Trump’s new FBI director director pick Christopher Wray, who has Russian ties of his own… why not Chris Christie too? Oh, and remember Jared Kushner, with his secret channel to Putin, similar to Michael Flynn’s illegal channel to the Russian Military

Speaking of Russians, Senator Mark Warner reveals that more state election systems were targeted by them.

Correspondent Donald Trump, quoting a senior White House official, got the scoop on everyone today. It’s big news, and would normally be the biggest news, probably leading to the hugest news, but right now is just debris in the winds of chaos. Donald Trump thrives in chaos. Chaos is his normal. Greg Dworkin describes this paradox today.

Trump chaos has spread around the world. Rex Tillerson gets the message. Bob Corker is now seeing Trump’s world trip as less than perfect. Four top law firms turned down requests to represent TrumpSadiq Khan 2020!

So, why is there support anywhere for this chump? Because the people they trust support him. Greg describes “Permission Structures”, one of which David Waldman erects in his front yard every couple of years. Republicans vote Republican no matter how much Republicans make them cry. For some, Democrats aren’t even people. Luckily, not everybody is them. Most Trump voters were not working class. Trumpism is ideology, not class

Trump aides’ idea,“Help Russia, ask for nothing back” sure won’t go over well with the boss. Donald asked Dan Coats to get Comey off his back. Meanwhile commercials want to sell you against Comey. Senate Republicans are closer than ever to repealing Obamacare—or at least to be seen trying to.

Joan McCarter agrees that Senate Republicans are either close to or far away from Obamacare repeal. Ready or not, Mitch McConnell is going to push Trumpcare. To warm up the crowd in Cinci, Trump took health insurance away from 13,000 Ohioans. Republicans are ready to destroy Medicaid and deny the dreams of millions. Eric Trump is pretty dumb, but the dumbest thing he ever did was let his dad near anything he didn’t want corrupted. Joan & David try out search engines, and find out that Google is indeed gamed.

A senior executive in DOJ’s Executive Office for Immigration Review hits the ground running in his efforts to make the swamp swampy.

British society is unarmed, and therefore impolite, as demonstrated by the Millwall fan rudely interrupting terrorists.

And, yes we have a Reality Winner!

That’s all I got, all of the good jokes are already taken.

David Waldman catches you up on Ms. Winner, the incredible sloppiness of The Intercept’s care for their resources, and most importantly, the Russian hacking that our friend Vlad assured us wasn’t happening.

Remember D-Day? Unless the D is for Donald, this moron doesn’t. Armando calls in and reminds us that we really have to fix this Donald Trump problem. Armando has several topics to discuss on Qatar, #1 is: how do you say Qatar? Trump wants you to look! At! Qatar! Saudi Arabia told Trump they’d take a hard line on funding terrorists, and they are sure reallocating resourcesThe $110 billion arms deal to Saudi Arabia is fake news, but they did send over $270,000 to the Trump DC Hotel, and they gave Donald a big necklace, which everyone knows is finders keepers, except for the nasty bureaucrats in Washington. Trump doesn’t keep track of things like “foreign cash”, so it is up to Democrats and the “Seven Member Rule” to discover what’s going on. This rule was news to David, so it is probably news to you—but not for our combined storehouse of knowledge at Daily Kos!

To understand Trump, we might have to learn to speak flimflam.

Welcome to week 20 of Presidential Apprentice, and the 23rd round of the Donald Trump National Golf Tournament, David Waldman calls the shots:

Is today the day Donald Trump finally became president? No, but it is about time to get alarmed.

Greg Dworkin helps us figure out who the good guys are. Trump’s national security team thought he might be on someone’s side but his own. Of course they were wrong. Trump is on the stupid side, and stupid is winning. Trump doesn’t trust climate scientists, once he had a golf date rained out. The Associated Press doesn’t trust Trump to report the news. The Gop plan on you not trusting the media. What source is “official” anymore? Britain is not “under siege” or “reeling” and doesn’t need us to panic.

Trump trails Obama by 55 points, so it is understandable to miss Barack now, but please don’t interview another poor Ohioan. Donald has caught Comey-mania early, but is unlikely to prevent its spread through executive privilege. Ivanka Trump’s lazy, disingenuous, shallow, self-involved political brand is still going strong

Armando thinks it’s a good time to invest in tar, feathers and rails to run Trump out on. One of the last legit places to give Donald Trump a loan, The Deutsche Bank, ignored a U.S. Trump/Russia query from the U.S. House Financial Services Committee

If you really need a reason to start panicking, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain are cutting ties to Qatar, and Qatar is deploying 1,000 ground troops to fight in Yemen. So, who wants Trump to mistrust QatarSaudi Arabia's rulers threatened to make it easier for terrorists to attack London unless corruption investigations into their arms deals were halted.

Coming up this week on KITM: An exploration into the myth of the kindly General Lee.  And—how the Trump-Russia data machine games Google to fool Americans. Now, you can’t google it to find out more, you need to tune into us!

It’s getting harder and harder to adequately address the number of daily headlines that are legitimate outrages. But Greg Dworkin manages quite nicely with his roundup, and even draws Armando into the mix again today. Trump prepares to ignore the worldwide phenomenon, which some believe is a hoax, and withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate change agreement, abdicating America’s leadership role in global affairs. Meanwhile, Rep. Tim Wahlberg (R-MI) is relying on another worldwide phenomenon, which some believe is a hoax, to save us. Believe me, the world can see what Trump’s doing. And what he’s not. That much I can tell you.

Will Republicans who call him out pay a price at the polls? How about loyalists in marginal & shifting districts? Or does the post-Brexit experience of the fringe-right indicate a different outcome? Speaking of which, Nigel Farage has made the FBI’s list in the Trump-Russia investigation. And speaking of that, James Comey is set to testify next week. Armando chimes in on the complicated question of whether Trump can invoke “executive privilege” to stop him. Meanwhile, “recused” House Intelligence Committee chair Devin Nunes is meddling again, this time unilaterally issuing subpoenas without informing committee Dems.

In health care legislation news, who owns the problems now? The Gop, by an almost 40-point margin. But LOL YOLO, nothing matters. Unless it does.

Trump grifters exploit yet another target, this time the families of victims of crime Trump built his immigration rhetoric around. And yet another central tenet of the campaign is smashed as Trump grants ethics & lobbying waivers to his entire WH senior staff, yet avoids naming names. And if you’re using the First Amendment to spill the beans, Trump’s got a Fourth Amendment surprise for you.

Thinking of deferring taxes on your vast wealth until Republicans slash rates? Turns out you’re pushing us past the debt ceiling quicker than expected. Hope that doesn’t cause you any problems.

Donald Trump’s trip was a disaster; a nearly perfect catastrophe for the U.S. and Europe, the world laughs at us, mocks us, and distances itself from us. No wonder White House communications director Michael Dubke is getting out before anyone finds out he works there. How does Hope HIcks do it? Good thing Hope has Donald to help her out of this mess.

Trump experiences life through the windshield of a golf cart. Donald Trump also cheats at golf. We somehow accepted that, but the rest of world has learned to not only distrust Trump, but to distrust a country capable of electing Trump. Armando is David Waldman’s guest to discuss whether Trump’s European visit has destroyed America’s 70+ year relationship with Europe. The Russians seem to have collected 'derogatory' information about Trump and associates during campaign. Jared Kushner might have heard of Russian generosity when he wanted to set up the secret back channel to solve the Syrian crisis, create world peace or something, he doesn’t remember, he had his boy take care of it.

James Comey acted on Russian intelligence he knew was fake. Steve Bannon is faking out Donald on the Paris accord.

The Gop gives the pink slip to the blue slip as another governing norm gets swept away.

A live Memorial Day KITM today, mostly because one can’t look away for a minute from this car wreck, when this car just keeps wrecking. So, today you can catch up on the latest with David Waldman and Greg Dworkin while you watch a parade, or have your staff lay out champagne popsicles... but remember to remember.

Even as a victorious, triumphant Donald Trump returned home to fight his greatest enemy—and all of his supporters—and all Republicans, our European allies found themselves having to figure out what to do for their own defense. Angela Merkel decided Europe “really must take our fate into our own hands,” which of course means taking it out of the United State’s hands.

Do we really want a President Pence? No, but first thing’s first. When will the New York Times admit to its 2016 election coverage errors?

Donald Trump and Jared Kushner are CEO and COO of the destruction of America. Whoa, what’s that smell? Oh, it’s the stench of Jared Kushner’s treason. Jared is in it as deep as Donald, maybe deep enough to encourage him to return to a quiet life of slum-lording, and get away from super-geniusing for a while. Who is the the real string-puller behind Trump? Is Kushner the true Wunderkind/Verräter of the operation? What can we really believe about Kushner? David delves further into the Jared Kushner Russia-social media connection, and Russia’s social media war on America. This backgrounder on Kushner is so extensive, even David’s 8th grade English teacher is covered.

Eventually, everyone related to a Trump is going to hop on the Trump gravy train. What? The Trump coat-of-arms is FAKE?

David Waldman will probably do a Memorial Day KITM. Maybe he’ll record it, maybe the show will be live, who knows what David will do—the guy is as wild and free as the wind. One thing is certain: you will be stuck in traffic or forming burgers somewhere happy to tune into fresh illumination of the craziness around us… and by the way, there’s a new show today too!

Donald Trump, no one has been an uglier American in all history, believe me, is more than just a dumb baby, he is a national embarrassment. Der Spiegel (not The Speagle) pleads with us to get rid of Donald Trump

Of course Jared Kushner is the subject of an FBI investigation. I-told-you-sos are pouring in from everywhere, including KITM. David talks about how Kushner is now a focus in the Russian investigation, but concentrates in detail on Kushner’s casual corruption of basing his millions on squeezing pennies from people that need every penny to survive.

Greg Gianforte picked just the worst time to “body slam a reporter (artist interpretation). Now he’s got Kagro in the Morning's attention. David Waldman and Greg Dworkin tag-team this jabroni:

It would be petty to think Fox news would cover for Gianforte, but quite prescient. Fox and Friends do attempt to come to the rescue, but eventually the Fox reporters standing right there had to say something.

It’s not just Montana men who need to be tough like Gianforte. It might seem like a high-school mindset, but when you’re a member of Congress, you accept this is the life you picked. You might go to jail, even worse, you might lose support… or votes. Yet another reason for the Gop to fret. Rick Wilson connects the rise in violence to the drive for fascist authoritarianism.

There’s more real and metaphorical wrestling matches in the news. Democrats would think they have the clear upper hand on healthcare. And, it looks as if critics of the GOP Health Care Plan were right all along. It even makes Freedom Caucus members cry a little to take insurance away from millions. But, what to think about people that consider it a good thing to reduce federal support for health coverage by $993 billion over 10 years? Here’s how the new healthcare bill confirms the asymmetry of the parties.

The good news remains all of the bad news for Republicans. Voters see Trump abusing his powers. Here is a chart showing that abusing power is the only way Trump knows how to work. It appears James Comey fell for Russian bad intelligence, leading him to screw up the Clinton email investigation. Top Russian officials discussed how to influence Trump aides last summer.

The Trumps only seek counsel from hugest, most beautiful Rabbis, yet none of those gave Jared and Ivanka permission to fly on Shabbat.

British Prime Minister Theresa May will be another person disappointed by the thickness of Trump’s skull.

David catches us up on the Mar-a-Lago-underage-sex-abuse-club-fiasco.

Inconsistency in handling child gun deaths increase the agony of survivors.

Trump figures he hit a home run. As Donald would put it... he touched the “Middle East”, and “The Jews”, and is now rounding third towards home (where he can be tagged out). David Waldman calls the play by play.

Greg Dworkin gives us a preview of all that’s waiting for Trump. The Gop is looking at nine months of failure, meanwhile the Democratic party is busy metamorphosing—while still remembering what they stand forflipping Republican seats.

Mitch McConnell remembers what Dems stand for, and isn’t interested. Almost everybody, including some Republicans, are becoming less interested in what Mitch stands for—which is destroying the lives of poor Republicans.

Ivanka doesn’t moderate Trump; she sells him to moderates. Melania and Ivanka wore veils to meet the Pope, but not headscarves in Saudi Arabia. Their base (Conservative Russians) probably appreciates this. Anyhow, Melania can’t let Donald get any ideas when she is forced to hang around with him. The Pope wishes he could dress more defensively.

Trump gave away the position of two nuclear submarines while talking to murderous dictator Rodrigo Duterte. Greg outs British intelligence agent James Bond with an anecdote revealing his code name.

If it’s Wednesday, it’s Joan McCarter day! This Wednesday is also CBO day. Joan tells us what to look for in the upcoming CBO score. It is now President Mulvaney destroying the U.S., which isn’t to say that Trump is not a liar that hates his own voters, because he is. The Gop is full of lying haters, those like Mitch McConnell just don’t broadcast that. Paul Ryan blames a $2,000,000,000,000 math error on his budget. The media completely misses how Social Security is being cut. Trump sabotage is the “single most destabilizing factor in the individual market”. Was John Boehner the hero that talked Donald Trump out of shutting down the government?

David Waldman has touched the orb, and understands. 1:58 of today’s KITM is ALL GLORY TO THE GLOWING ORB… rounding out the show:

The recent bombing in Manchester, England is truly a developing story, and you’ll be hearing a lot more details throughout the day. Here is a guide of things to remember and consider when big news breaks. Here is a guide to spotting fake news on the Manchester bombing. Donald Trump announced that the bombers were “Evil Losers”. Here is a guide to what Donald Trump means when he says “evil” or “loser”.

The Trumpshambles continue abroad. Donald just wanted to hold hands, Melania wishes she had a rolled up newspaper. Donald spent 15 minutes of his photo op time at Yad Vashem. Bannon and Priebus figured that if someone can’t get a DC country club membership, they aren’t worth visiting.

Maybe Donald can work on driving out the Alt-Reich when he returns to the U.S. Mike Pence can work on understanding and empathizing with people that disagree with him. Maybe colleges could be more picky when choosing commencement speakers. There are good ones to choose from. For instance, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, who recently gave a great speech on U.S., and Confederate history.

Also in the news, Donald P. Trump tried talking senior intelligence officials into publicly denying his Russian collusion, and Rod Rosenstein might have let it slip that he may have been witness to a crime. Also in probably fake news, the girl in the Anthony Weiner sexting case could have lied to damage Hillary Clinton, but apparently didn’t.

Rachel of Irreverent Testimony sends us a dispatch from Colorado: the local angle on the wide-ranging story on the insidious work of the Bradley Foundation to steer policy hard to the right in our state legislatures. A reminder of the interlocking world of right-wing “charitable” foundations, which we’ve explored before, but that deserves a second look.

Thanks to you we are reaching our goal of raising between zero and ten billion dollars monthly for KITM. If you’d like to help us move the needle towards the top of our range here’s your chance!

David Waldman reports that Donald Trump has only reached the middle of his Worldwide Victory Tour, yet now seems to have gotten as sick of winning as we are. He might get his second wind soon… after all people know to give leaders the respect they deserve over there. Trump goes to Israel to make the Middle East peaceful, or heads will roll, believe me.

Greg Dworkin makes time, even on his birthday, to round up and abbreviate punditry.

The world says get rid of Donald Trump; Donald Trump tends to agree. The US doesn’t like him, but odds are he’s sticking around awhile. As the Republican base slowly erodes, do Democrats have a plan for 2018? Do they have a plan ever

The Republicans learn from history, because that’s where all the good excuses areWhat did the Vice President not know and when did he not know it?

Pick your poison—conspiracies are popping up left and right.

Firing that “nut job” Comey cheered up the Russians, but it looks as if the heat is still on. Maybe Jared didn’t fire him soon enough. Jared Kushner saved untold billions in the weapons sale to the Saudis. No, really, no one is going to tell you how much was saved, or what it cost. Kushner will never tell you a thing. You aren’t going to find out how many lobbyists Trump hired either.

Week 18 of The Presidential Apprentice closes with Trump jetting off to the Middle East and Europe, carrying the contagion of infantilism, inattention, low energy and dysfunction with him. (Jared & Ivanka are along for the ride, allegedly with special dispensation.)

We’re coming to grips with the Comey firing, the appointment of a special counsel, and what it all means. But first, Trump & team are spending their precious time plotting revenge: by accusing Obama of being the real leaker of intel to Russia! Got it? Good. Now, here’s what you need to read, in rough order of complexity, in order to discuss the scope of the investigation(s).

In related news, Jason Chaffetz is putting away his subpoena crayons, and Devin Nunes still has his hands in the cookie jar.

Speaking of half-assing it in the House, they might end up having to vote on Trumpcare all over again, rendering statements by the White House and Ryan’s office inoperative.

Lots of speculation about why Trump’s so loyal to Flynn, lately. But this is the topper! I hope!

One last entry for weekend reading: Time’s “Inside Russia’s Social Media War on America.”

With Joe Lieberman rumored as the summer replacement host of Kagro in the Morning, one would expect David Waldman to be coasting, but no—he still packs every bit of scandal and intrigue TrumpCo can generate into today’s solid two hour broadcast.

Roger Ailes had a rough time in the last few months, but it’s all smoothing out for him now. You think Roger had it rough? Donald always has it roughest. Robert Mueller, pronounced Mole-er, doesn’t have witch hunting experience, but seems qualified for his new job as Donald Trump’s worst nightmare, and James Comey’s friendThe Senate Judiciary Committee requested any memos, or “tapes” from the Comey-Trump meetings. Greg Dworkin assures us that even as things move at government speed, they are heading in the right direction. Flynn, Manafort can clear their calendars right now. Michael Flynn stopped the military plan Turkey opposed—after being paid as its agent. The Trump team knew that Flynn was under investigation before they hired Flynn.

Although Hope Hicks assured us that nothing untoward was happening with Russia, it looks like something untoward did happen at least 18 times. Just ask House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy how Russian money flowed before the election, and he will tell you—until Paul Ryan ixnays on the Roosky daes. Remember that Mike Pence is complicit, and Jared Kushner’s a baddie too. Jared was a good brother and was protecting his sister’s money. His worth might be in steep decline, but you can still buy Donald Trump if you act soon. Trump’s first foreign trip should fix things right up...

A think tank disinvites Steve Bannon when they realize he sullies their reputation for “thinking”.

David Waldman’s refrigerator is broken. Is your refrigerator running? If so, more Americans would vote for it over Trump... Before his appliance troubles, David would eat avocado toast three, four times a day, which sure adds up. So consider a donation to either Patreon or Square Cash. Quick!

Greg Dworkin cuts through the chaos to point out that all the chaos is baffling the public less and less, even amongst the hard core Trumpists, who are beginning to slip into the enthusiasm gap. The Health Care bill already has the house in play, but now impeachment is becoming a winning Democratic issue. Republicans need votes too, so Trump’s protective wall is beginning to crack. Jason Chaffetz’s subpoena pen is starting to rise in anticipation. Of course, most polling occurred before news of the Comey Memo, and of course Trump’s overseas fiascos. Fox talkers are sooo bored with all of this, and anyhow they need to tune up for “Nearer My God to Thee”. Vlad throws in the anchor.

Today Armando came to praise Greg, not to dispute him. What will it be, impeachment or the 25th amendment? Trump’s exceptional dealings with Russians continue to grow.

Joan McCarter discusses the three exits Republicans are running for: “Trump is a victim”, “Trump is an idiot”, or “Trump is king”. Intelligence Trump leaked to Russians came from Israel, so maybe he should have checked his itinerary first. Looks like it will be a family trip, then.

Donald threatens to ruin Mitch and Paul’s lifetime chance to ruin things, but not if their love holds strongso Democrats have one choice: Shut. It. Down.

SCANDAL! On Today’s KITM, David Waldman explores Jimmy Fallon’s recent revelation: Donald Trump might have plagiarized the commencement speech from “Legally Blonde”. It's hard picturing Donald recovering from this one!

Also in the news, Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador, destroying decades of intelligence infrastructure, killing agents in the field, and handing untold advantages to our enemies, which he has the absolute right to do. Trump might not understand “leak” or “loyalty”, but he knows his rights. He was building a better relationship between the United States and Russia, and knows that sometimes you have put in a little extra to impress your new cool friends, even if it means having to ditch the nerds you used to hang with.

Israel was the source of secret intelligence that Trump gave to Russians. BTW, Trump will visit the Western Wall, without Netanyahu.

KITM Texas correspondent John R. gives us the good and the bad of finding a swarm of Texas Democrats vying for two Republican seats in the U.S. House.

Here is the story of a slave, owned by Americans, in modern times, and how domestic slavery can exist easily in our culture.
