Republicans can’t find enough to be angry or frightened about in Biden’s America, so they are turning on each other. Greg Dworkin supplies a scorecard for us, so we can check each one of them off as they are gurneyed off the field. Nancy Mace and Lauren Boebert fight to their political death over our attention. Dan Crenshaw calls the Freedom Caucus performance artists and grifters, and he should know. The GOP purge of those not ready to big-lie continues. Steve KG Bannon knows David Perdue could never be worthy of Donald Trump’s butt.

The Fox Christmas tree was officially lit last night, happy holidays! The Boeberts and the Massies also are all set to light each other up this season.

This guy gunned down this guy because he drove recklessly.

The long arm of the January 6 committee will have a lot to gather up. They will find many of them already behind bars, in the spa area most likely. A National Guardsman/insurrectionist rioter saw the mob from both sides and really should experience jail in the same way.

The COVID Delta variant is still kicking our asses, especially the red ones, but being fully informed and vaccinated should help against the Omicron variant. Getting vaccines into the ignorant is the stumper though. A medical board attempted to decouple vaccination from politics by not letting conservatives find out they were anti-lying.

Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court issued an official “whatevs, do what you want” on expansion of the court, but isn’t that true about anything that happens in DC? A permanent rule can always be fixed with a temporary rule if you just know the rules. David Waldman has us well-armed for this fight.

David Waldman and Joan McCarter told you they’d be here today, and as usual they are 100% correct.

President Joe Biden and first lady Dr. Jill Biden honored National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day by laying a wreath in memory of Bob Dole, sadly the second one we lost this year.

Kamala Harris is smart to not use Bluetooth, and smart to not waste her time explaining why.

Remember that old news to KITM listeners is new to everyone else. Republican election lawyer Ben Ginsberg warned that the Electoral Count Act could be manipulated to overthrow elections. State Legislatures are filling with Trump goons set to overthrow elections. Steve Bannon helped Trump attempt to overthrow the last election, plans to overthrow the 2024 election, and will even do his part to overthrow the 2022 elections. Donald Trump wants to overthrow elections!

You know that Jeffrey Clark conspired with Trump to overturn the 2020 election. There is new evidence, however, and it’s linked directly to the White House. Did you know that Donald Trump spent every moment in and out of office soaking anyone for any penny he could get?

The Feds could release an alternative Mueller report, soon but several years late. The Steele Dossier doesn’t need an alternative version because it’s not really relevant.

Mark Meadows new book reveals the old news that Donald Trump almost died from COVID but then ended up trolling everyone once again by surviving. Donald did not give Mark permission to speak however and decided that more discipline was in order. Meadows has since remembered his place... Devin Nunes always understood that he belonged beneath Trump, but he just couldn’t find the right place to latch on, until now. The Truth isn’t real, and never will be with Trump, which is all right by those investors who just like to see Donald happy.

The Iran talks end in Vienna almost back at square one, which is still better than where Trump left it.

Mitch McConnell and his maniacs (plus Joe Manchin) considered shutting down the government, but that ended up being too much work, so government was funded. The debt ceiling would be an evergreen ruse for Republicans to attempt next, but Mitch is a little shy this year to lose the filibuster, so who knows, maybe he and Chuck Schumer will Build Back Better. They better get on it, as Joan goes on vacation next week.

Monday means a weekend round-up from Greg Dworkin, and these days, that means equal parts politics and pandemic.

On the politics: “kitchen table” economics, or “values?” Why not both? Will it work? As we always caution you, wait and see.

Is Biden just plain getting worse coverage? It might depend on who you ask.

The Jan. 6 committee continues to charge ahead, despite the best (read: worst) efforts of the Pentagon and the DoD IG. It seems they were going with the old “executive summary” trick, again.

Bob Dole will likely get the funeral Donald Trump never should.

On the pandemic, the picture on Omicron is beginning to come through. In the meantime, the picture on masks is pretty clear. Not that Missouri wants you to see it. Vaccine shenanigans continue, despite evidence that they—and mandates—actually work. Why won’t this sink in?

We continue to keep one eye out for democracy’s point of no return.

There is, in fact, a thing that is too dumb even for Donald Trump.

A whole weekend of improbable developments for the (latest) Michigan school shooter & family.

A whole weekend of discussion on a probable, but inadvisable, event for Ron DeSantis.

And, because it is always irresponsible not to speculate, here’s a story that could be (or turn into) the slickest new campaign finance scam on the market today. Or not!

Who knows where David Waldman will take us today? That’s why we tune in!

Asparagus Zucchini, always in season, is back on KITM to discuss crypto assets, which are worth absolutely nothing unless you can find that mark who buys what you’re selling. At that very moment you are rich... Until it all melts away through your fingers. All of this makes crypto an ideal foundation for US infrastructure, especially for Joe Manchin.

Donald Trump knew he had COVID, even as he flitted from one superspreader event to another like a honeybee spreading pollen... if honeybees were disgusting sociopaths and pollen killed a million Americans. At least this is according to Mark Meadows, just as disgusting in his many special ways, and equally untrustworthy. Mark’s beta, so when Donald said Meadow’s book was fake news, Mark had to agree. Donald wasn’t the only pestilent Trump at that debate, however. Trump had his whole toxic clan there to destroy the previously spotless reputation of the Cleveland Clinic.

COVID wasn’t the only way Trump could kill you, of course. Two Georgia election workers were reminded of that daily, and are now suing. Twitter is tired of being used to punch Nazis, and Nazis are taking note of that.

Democrats can shut up a fascist SCOTUS by limiting what they hear. Of course, as long as there is a filibuster, that’s easier said than done.

Jeffrey Clark says he can’t appear at any January 6th hearings if Liz Cheney isn’t a Republican. Expect plenty of stupid lawyering in 2022.

Sure, to listen to David Waldman and Greg Dworkin rehearse “Two of Us” dozens of times this morning is to behold genius, but pay attention to their banter and you’ll discover plenty about politics. It’s when David invites Armando to sit in on the second half where the band really shines!

Other than fixing things for rich people, Republicans have had only one issue and that’s eliminating abortion rights. Now what will they do? Republicans are certainly anti-woman, but they haven’t managed to eradicate them quite yet, therefore women are sure to retaliate, right?

The Supreme Court, and Susan Collins, would like you to know it wasn’t their fault. Except for Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh. Those two are laying down a Trumpian stink that SCOTUS will never be able to get out.

The economy is improving! Supply chains are disentangling! Joe Biden should tell someone! But really Americans are conditioned to believe they’ll never be rich enough, so the economy is never “fixed” is it? Meanwhile, the government is about to shut down again.

Donald Trump keeps having bad days, but he might have already taken us with him. Conservative areas committing suicide to make Biden look bad is a weird flex, but maybe wiping compost all over themselves will help. Joe Biden offers rational solutions instead.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin bring us to the middle of the week and the beginning of the month simultaneously. Let’s multitask together:

Breaking: Donald Trump, the liar responsible for hundreds of thousands of COVID deaths, lied about being safe from COVID days before sneaking into his televised debate with Joe Biden, and knowingly became directly responsible for COVID infections at superspreader events just prior... which he continues to lie about. Sounds pretty on brand, but the bearer of that news was Mark Meadows, and who’d trust what he has to say? (Brad Raffensperger is also talking, for what that’s worth)

Donald Trump might “run” for president in 2024, spurring Democrats to wonder if they should maybe just give up now. Perhaps Joe Biden should put some zingy Twitter insults out there…

Twitter isn’t what it used to be and might soon be even less.

Supply chain bottlenecks appear to be easing, thanks Joe! (As if voters cared about a problem once it is fixed.) Kids escaped from a school shooting and Republicans worry that some might have learned some history before they could break out the window.

Meanwhile, the more unvaccinated there are, the less unvaccinated there’ll be, and that goes too for the new Omicron variant. Omicron is confirmed in 23 countries, so that cat is out of the bag, horse is out of the barn door, however viral epidemiologists put it.

Chris Cuomo joins his brother Andrew Cuomo in retirement. Neither better skimp on this year’s Christmas presents.

Small time insane grifter Sidney Powell will have the underside of the bus memorized before this is over.

The news media is now issuing explainers for those who can’t believe Lauren Boebert et al. could be so 🦇 💩 🤡.  If you thought GQP infighting couldn’t get uglier, you haven’t met Marjorie Traitor Greene. Marj is now stalking Nancy Mace, like she stalks Ilan OhmarAlexandria Ocasio-CortezDavid Hogg… Don’t worry, Kevin McCarthy will have the ladies calmed down by the weekend.

David Waldman and Joan McCarter, the Tuesday miracle that just keeps giving, for about two hours:

Lauren Boebert, the Louie Gohmert of Steve Kings, was honing her standup over Thanksgiving and told the one about how Muslims are terrorists, with the punchline of Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar. Lauren did read her room perfectly, but unfortunately wasn’t aware of how cellphones can record stuff. Boebert quickly called Omar to demand an apology. As expected, the GQP was totally fine with South Carolina’s Nancy Mace’s vaccine doubletalk endangering Americans, but the moment Nancy implied xenophobic racism might be better whispered rather than shouted there was hell to pay. Marjorie Traitor Greene pointed out that Mace was trash that should hang with her fellow Muslims.  In turn, Mace pointed out that Green was an illiterate possum-faced cross-burning hick, or some words to that effect... Hey now! Are all these harsh words between fellow conservatives beyond the pale? And why isn’t saying beyond the pale “beyond the pale”? After all, Russian Jews hesitated to go beyond the pale, lest they encounter a relative impaled on a pole by some zealous build-the-wall type...

But I digress. We were talking about the civility of conservatives. Virginia Republicans slipped Glenn Youngkin into his seat by saying the quiet parts quietly, but then just couldn’t hold their pétarade back. Now, the Virginia PTA finds it needs to slap down the local PTAs.

Remember Donald Trump? He was trying to overthrow the government then, and he’s trying to overthrow it now. Just ask Mark Meadows.

Now Democrats, they have their act together. Especially Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. They might even have a few acts going on behind the scenes we don’t know about. Senate Democrats have a huge job and little time to do it. Mitch McConnell’s job is to use up that time. Broadband infrastructure will cost more and do less if the FCC needs to rely on providers for assistance.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin both remembered to clock into work at KITM World Headquarters today... Hey, how was your holiday weekend? No need to answer! Who promised Thanksgiving was going to be fun?  Anyhow, we’re already onto the holiday in which we celebrate exceeding fuel efficiency standards, while also attempting to surpass our own personal standards.

The pandemic that pundits told us had ended, will need to end again. We have arrived at yet another COVID variant, skipping over Nu and Xi, and landing on Omicron. This Omicron might not be as lethal as the Persei 8 variant, but is definitely worth some intelligent precaution. Defense might require a little innovation, but could be as simple as getting a booster shot, which you were going to do anyhow, right?

The unintelligent, however, rarely take precautions, which is how both pandemics and grifts are spread. Michael Flynn, spy, is also an old surfer, which is probably why he uses the old surfer term “Kook” to describe his fellow useful lunatics over at QAnon. Those paranoid conspiratorial morons are finally at each other’s throats.

Republican voters in Virginia might become concerned that Winsome Sears isn’t one of the good ones that they hoped she was, now that she came out in praise of the guilty verdicts in the Ahmaud Arbery case.

A lie doesn’t need to be ”the opposite” of the truth, but Donald Trump likes to exceed our expectations. People who see Fox News as pinko want that in a president. Most people prefer their leaders to be more boring and competent. That’s not to say the President Joe Biden can’t surprise us now and then.

Remember how exciting it was when we put on a live show last Thanksgiving? It was so amazing, we decided to do it again! By which we mean we decided to re-run that show.

Welcome to our first, and apparently last, annual KITM Thanksgiving Special, with your hosts, David Waldman and Greg Dworkin, and their special guests, the Loudoun County Rockettes! Brought to you by… you. We sure couldn’t have done it without you. We’re still grateful for you, even if your name might possibly be mispronounced by us. (David’s got “Nevada”, “Latiñes” and “Latines” down pat, now if only he could say “adversary”…)

There is a lot to be thankful for! 80,000,000 legal votes. 306 electoral votes. Over 30 transparently idiotic lawsuits, and counting. Several of the dumbest, craziest lawyers in the country. We should thank The Resistance, fighting from the last inauguration right up to this one. And, the few, proud, honest Republicans... Webcams on laptops, relaying LGBT bashers’ laptops to Zoom. And, John P. Flannery, the Robert Redford of Willy Wonkas, all out there, fighting the good fight.

It’s no time to get sick of winning. Trump started rigging this election when the last one ended. Trump hasn’t quit endangering the world and his corruption won’t stop until it is stopped.

Yesterday, the Trump Supreme Court and their new superspreader Justice put a big boot heel on both state’s rights, and public health by blocking New York’s coronavirus restrictions on houses of worship, formally trading “latte drinking Prius drivers” with “wine drinking bicycle riders” in the Supreme Court lexicon.

David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are bad people who you shouldn’t be trusting, but they sure are rich.

Meanwhile, we die from a preventable disease. Idiocy remains popular in South Dakota. You can even lose your job if you aren’t one. West Virginia can’t keep up... in fact, they don’t really want to. Perhaps, if we only had more self-destructive door-knockers, we’d have more Democrats in Congress

While Democrats remind themselves that their Latine and Black constituencies aren’t monolithic, it would also help to remember that Asia is a big place also.

Happy Thanksgiving! Turkey time! The day to learn about the bird, the word, and the jive. So, it’s also traditional to listen to KITM today. Don’t worry, David Waldman always goes to break when the best balloons come on.

Did you know many conspiracy theorists are disgusting cold-blooded self-centered narcissists? Talia Bracha Lavin does, and while reviewing the dimwitted offensiveness of self-victimizing protesters comparing themselves to holocaust victims teaches that Jews developed and smuggled vaccines under the noses of the Gestapo.

We’ve been talking about the lionization of Kyle Rittenhouse since August. Kyle reached peak grifter appeal in the past few days, and therefore is due to be their pariah by New Years. You’d think the D-list opportunists he first met would have taught him something.

Ahmaud Arbery receives justice, though sadly he’s still dead and racism is still alive. Arbery’s killers would not have been caught if it was up to the original prosecutor, Jackie Johnson, who we can all give thanks has been indicted.

David Waldman celebrates Thanksgiving Wednesday, one day more and earlier than Donald Trump. Anything less would be un-American.

Greg Dworkin welcomes us to The COVID Endemic, which unfortunately isn’t the “end” of anything. You can call “booster” shots, “another” shot from now on. Another shot will help cut into COVID cases, hospitalizations & deaths, as does discipline in masks and social distancing. Discipline, surprisingly is something Germany came up a little short on lately, as did Austria, since both suffer from conservative DNGAF pockets.  We in the US have those also, and they have similar results, often worse, depending on the DNGAF factor. Gimmetarians tend to measure infection and death at either 0% (you have it), or 100% (they have it). Ivermectin efficacy is measured likewise. If they survive, it’s 100%, if they die, it’s 100% someone else’s fault.

The CEO of Cyber Ninjas, Doug Logan, says he’s $2 million in debt, but I wouldn’t trust him to count anything. Timothy Mellon can afford to be more than 20 times the idiot Logan is.

Sure Dems, there might be a lot to despair about, but what good does that do? Cut the tears, quit the backbiting, and remember that it might seem dark now, but it’s morning in America.

David Waldman delivers the Tuesday KITM. You know it wouldn’t be Tuesday if there wasn’t Joan McCarter, and there is Joan McCarter… so, it’s Tuesday:

John Neely Kennedy is a dick. No, not the John Kennedy coming back from the dead, but the one frozen in the 1950’s. This Kennedy’s schtick is life imitating art, imitating art, imitating life — Buh Cahk! There will always be an audience.

An Asian American man in Pennsylvania seemed suicidal, and the police helped him out by shooting him. Authorities didn’t mention that that man sure didn’t seem suicidal when he was shot.

There's nothing more frightening in America today than an angry White man, and they vote GQP, so there’s a lot of mutual love there. There’s a lot of love coming in from overseas bots as well. A pro-Trump nonprofit gave millions to groups promoting his agenda, while the RNC continues to send its cash to pay Trump’s various legal bills. Senator Ron Wyden urges the IRS to look into how charities bankrolled the insurrection.

Sean Parnell had to drop his Senate campaign after domestic violence claims and loss of custody to his children. Strange, as that is pretty much on MAGA brand… Now Donald Trump wants to beat his son. States with low rates of gun deaths have high rates of vaccination, go figure.

The new president of the World Taekwondo headquarters stopped by Mar-a-Lago to present Donald Trump with a black belt, knowing Donald does accept ass-kisses in lieu of cash sometimes.

Build Back Better heads to the Senate. The House did what it could to make the bill palatable, but Senators are a pretty picky bunch. The House is also urging the Senate to ignore the parliamentarian on immigration, but Dems never want to be ones encouraging Republicans to do bad things.

Joe Biden takes United States Postal Service Chairman Ron Bloom off the board, Joe’s next move is checkmate, Louis DeJoy.

Oh, and here’s a baby digging some shag carpet.

David Waldman foretells our future. Not too far, or we wouldn’t keep coming back.

Waukesha Christmas Parade turned into a tragedy when an SUV was rammed into the crowd. It already doesn’t look as if a self-defense plea will work this time.

Back in the day, you could trace someone’s social position to their natural genetic or cultural inferiority pretty much unchallenged. Not anymore, with all the wokeness everywhere, therefore it must have been... “welfare” that actually historically destroyed the lives of people of color. As a matter of fact, Virginia Lt. Governor-elect Winsome Sears wonders if Blacks might have had it a little too nice back in the Tulsa Race Riots. David wonders if it isn’t too woke to design medical devices that work accurately for less translucent people.

Greg Dworkin pipes us aboard his raft o’stories™ and sets sail into our post-Rittenhouse verdict future. Josh Hawley, and J.D. Vance search for the rugged masculinity America has lost. Meanwhile, Democrats wonder who’ll take care of the kids. President Joe Biden has plenty of problems around the fringes, but can’t throw away what he’s got to placate them.

The media is so tired of COVID, but it isn’t going away yet. Except maybe for the places that are doing enough about it.

A gun “went off” in the security area of an Atlanta airport and no one knew if they would be the next to be self-defended upon. The Manhattan district attorney wonders how Donald Trump described property as $527 million in assets, yet $16.7 million to tax officials.  Trump lawyers hope to use the “you would if you could” defense.

David Waldman makes it look easy… well, pretty easy:

In one of the first big wins of the Harris administration, Build Back Better passed the House. Kevin McCarthy wanted everyone to see how Trumpy he could be, so he yelled incoherent lies for a few hours. No one was impressed, and nothing was changed. Kevin and Kyrsten Sinema can go around pretending they did something today.

Wisconsin Republicans introduced a resolution that the sun will rise in the West until Donald Trump is president again. If that doesn’t work, the county sheriff will arrest election workers. If that doesn’t work, they have some other plans. Can you believe, Arizona was even worse?

The Trump administration hoped COVID-19 would exterminate pesky blue voters, but while the blues followed the advice of Anthony Fauci, the red voters listened to their cousin that did his research.

There’s a bit of a backlog in getting Black men exonerated in America, but once Netflix got involved, the process was expedited for the two men convicted of killing Malcolm X in 1965.

Why are energy prices so high? The answers are complex, but Beto O’Rourke points to the lingering effects of the “Abbott Tax”, and the weakest link of our supply chain, the Texas power grid

Look here Russia, who you jiving with that cosmic debris?

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin retire fellow Loyal Order of the Water Buffalo brother Jacob Chansley’s horns. We’ll miss that idiot on bowling nights.

Plenty of other crazy idiots that we’re eager to miss: Matt Gaetz just might adopt Kyle Rittenhouse. (Nestor writes “Kevlar” down on his Christmas wish list.) Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Showis chock full of idiocy. For instance, there’s the tale of swashbuckling Sidney Powell, seeking permission to rescue CIA Director Gina Haspel from imaginary German pirates. Small idiot fish in a big idiot pond Tina Peters hit the big time with an FBI raid in her election data breach investigation. Many of these idiots will soon share bunks with Jacob Chansley. Or, maybe they’ll be heroes, demigods of the future Republican empire.

Not an idiot: If you know “I’m Just a Bill”, you know Dave Frishberg. Frishberg was about a lot more than just that one song, so you actually probably know him a lot more also.

Joe just vaccinated 2.6 million kids in 10 days. Brig. Gen. Thomas H. Mancino, under direct orders from Oklahoma’s Governor, will no longer sit back and allow the Biden administration to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids. Iowa’s Governor however is happy to take COVID funds and make it rain for office staff.

Meanwhile, Germany is being hit with another big COVID surge, and disease control scientists are tired of arguing with politicians about what to do.

Back here, voters are bored with Democrats and just might see what the Republicans are up to again. Maybe Dems should get off their niche identity politics, like infrastructure and onto old, white, male, Christian, identity politics, like gasoline prices. Or, perhaps federal grants for guillotines.

David Waldman is just as baffled and perplexed as you are. We’ll work this all out together.

Greg Dworkin presented an exceptionally persuasive case on how confusing it is to follow and trust scientific and medical advice, by telling an exceptionally bewildering story, which might have analogized vaccine mandates with fighting space aliens in Australia... I don’t know. Look, the other side has it much easier. They just trust their cousin, who did his own research, until they simply succumb and die. Listen, kids —  Don’t take Ivermectin, unless by some fluke you get worms. And, take your booster! I know there “was debate” about it lately… Just do it!

Actual tyrants are really having a rough time also, thanks to the pandemic.

Russia blowing its satellite all over everyone’s space is just rude, and makes no friends.

Jacob Chansley, aka “QAnon Shaman,” won’t get his horns, car keys, or wallet back for a few years.

Jonathan Karl just can’t even with Donald Trump’s sociopathic lunacy. Too bad Jonathan never reads the news. Trump almost looks sane compared to Michael Flynn and Sidney Powell, who called up Trump’s own Ezra Cohen in the Department of Defense and requested a secret mission into Germany to rescue CIA chief Gina Haspel (Who was in her office at the time, as if that mattered.) Crazy people elected Marjorie Traitor Greene and Paul Gosar, who won’t let their lack of committee work keep them from representing their constituents.

Huge job growth the past few months, and fully stocked shelves greeting eager shoppers leading into the Christmas season can only mean one thing: Joe Biden and the Democrats are screwed going into 2024. Chuck Schumer figures “Build Back Better” might sell better if renamed “Whip Inflation Now”... So, is it possible to convince voters of color to save everyone, one more time?

On today’s KITM David Waldman presents both sides, give or take:

A Russian anti-satellite test was successful. Now we can see how effective it is on the International Space Station, although that isn’t really hard to imagine already. Russia claims Elon Musk would hijack cruise missiles, if Musk ever felt like being a Bond villain... which he often does. Of course, once Elon does go supervillain, there will be a lot of sequels in the works. For instance, Alex Jones could be a supervillain, if but for the lack of money, intelligence or a single redeemable characteristic. Soon, Jones’ money will reach zero as well. Steve Bannon just wishes he could be that evil.

Donald Trump is that evil, and then some, shutting down COVID-19 planning as soon as it started. Trump ended up too villainous for even Steve Mnuchin and Mike Pompeo. Steve and Mike had some intern google the 25th Amendment once January 6 really sunk in on them. Trump might be temporarily at bay, but there are still waves of henchmen to fight, threatening retribution. Things are looking dark for our heroes, but if they act quickly they can still turn it around.

A sudden plot twist occurs, as the new commander of the Oklahoma National Guard goes rogue, and halts vaccine mandates. He will soon find himself outnumbered.

In a fully expected turn of events, Joan McCarter made an appearance for KITM’s 4th act, but then she delivered a new curveball, announcing the departure of the Senate’s longest-serving member, Patrick Leahy. Nancy Pelosi is locking the doors on the House until her members get their act together on Build Back Better. Chuck Schumer was celebrating our new infrastructure bill, but then the boss told him to put down the fork and cake and get back to work. FTC zombies continue to rise up, and that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later If Marjorie Traitor Greene and Andrew Clyde keep racking up fines for refusing masks, why even let them in the door?

David Waldman delivers an ostensibly Monday KITM while Greg Dworkin brings us a raft o’stories , and input for our KITM World Headquarters redesign.

Donald Trump thinks Mike Pence is a great guy and a great vice president, and should be hanged. He gave Mike the choice… Well, “patriotism” was “one” of the choices, and that’s sort of what Mike thought he had picked. Pence, however wasn’t reading the room (a room that should have been padded, btw). Mike must have gotten the memo, to understand it wasn’t high school civics class anymore. Pence also must have read the Claremont Institute’s circle jerk fanfic of the Turner Diaries that they made into a post election apocalyptic action plan, with Republican allies supplying the apocalypse

Chris Christie used to hate Trump, which is not to say he didn’t use to love Trump, that is, Christie hates Trump, but will go full Lindsey if really he has to. Steve Bannon surrendered to federal authorities, again —  which is of course, great news for Steve Bannon! May Steve and Donald enjoy good fortune like this for years to come. Kyle Rittenhouse proves that young white men with guns have always been right all along… So, why do Democrats let Republicans set the terms of the debate, anyhow? Will Republicans ever become sick of winning? Probably not, since winning is just so easy for them.

When will COVID end? Donald Trump built the infrastructure for coronavirus sturdy enough to last for generations. For the ten millionth time people, it’s not like the flu, except for the “dimwits not getting vaccinated” part. Vaccines help prevent transmission. Vaccines don’t make cow babies. Bathing in borax after vaccination allows you to avoid COVID infection, and save face by washing away the tyranny.

Friday! What did David Waldman talk about today? Don’t ask him — I know!

Donald Trump thinks “Hang Mike Pence” has sort of a nice ring to it, and that sensible people really should get on to it next time they have a chance. John Eastman not only had a plan for Mike Pence to overthrow the 2020 election, he helped assemble plans to stage a not-so-bloodless coup across the United States. Marjorie Traitor Greene has a habit of targeting lynch mobs at those who miff her. Fellow Republicans have her take their calls. Vladimir Putin’s out there taking notes.

Will serving all of these subpoenas scratch our due process itch, or do we require just a touch more justice? Mark Meadows would be a fine start.

Once a mass shooter bags their first casualty, can’t all the rest that follow be considered “standing your ground”? sobs Kyle Rittenhouse, the New York Times’ “Sexiest Man”… Alive, that is. Kyle needs all of this to blow over before he delivers the commencement address for the University Of Austin.

You can’t fire that rogue anti-vax San Francisco cop, he’ll quit first! No, wait. He didn’t last long enough to quit. COVID still surges through the US, they just haven’t given this surge a number yet. In France they call it a “Numéro cinq”. Whatever they’re calling it in Germany, it doesn’t sound pleasantBrad Parscale was smart enough to stay away from Trump’s hoi polloi since Tulsa.

The ol’ Twitter inbox was stuffed to overflowing this Veterans Day. But it was politics and pandemic, as usual, for Greg Dworkin.

Looks like the pandemic situation in FÜBAR (Fahrvergnügen Beyond All Recognition) in Germany (and maybe more of Western Europe, again). Fingers crossed for those COVID antiviral pills, because the horse paste isn’t working, and now they have to admit it. Although FOX viewers probably just won’t.

It’s finally time for The Former Guy to appeal the decision in his “executive privilege” case.

White people! Amirite? Well, maybe, maybe not. But the important thing is not to admit it’s possible to be wrong.

The BFD bills are popular. But now that the BIF is done, Joe Manchin wants you to worry that the BBB is inflationary. But “even the liberal” Larry Summers says it’s not.

As you know, it really burns me up when people don’t know their procedure. Especially when it’s Members and Congressional reporters. But just because they won’t lose their committee seats doesn’t mean Republicans who voted for the infrastructure bill won’t be stabbed in the back front.

But speaking of being burned up, Republicans are in serious danger of overheating in the wake of Virginia’s elections.

More on the smarmy Coalition Provisional Authority sequel that was Johnny McEntee’s (Gesta)PPO operation.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin. What more can be said? (About two hours worth.)

For a moment on January 6, Mike Pence broke from the Mo’ai character he’d mastered, as he hid in the basement from a literal lynch mob. Word has it, that Pence couldn’t go to his offices that day, as his access badges had been deactivated that morning. Mike and Ayanna Pressley might actually have something they can commiserate on.

January 6 is clearly about more than what happened that day, and the January 6 panel knows that, as shown by their subpoena choices. David takes a nostalgic tour of the Trump gang members already named, and stops on Johnny “The F’ing Idiot” McEntee, a chief enforcer aiming to be Capo Bastone of the Trump crime family. Alas, with his hot head Johnny could never be made.

Trump’s no Capone, but at this rate could arrive at a crypt before a jail cellHistory will, of course demand to know why we didn’t hang Trump, but really, Donald deserves to live as long as everything he will be sentenced to. The same goes for his pals too.

You know who would purposely terrify U.S. election officials? Terrorists. Reuters found that their reporters were able to trace back previously “untraceable” harassers by calling their phones. The NRA debated doing the right thing after Columbine, but you know how that turned out.

Think racism put Glenn Youngkin in office? Well, if you ask suburban women voters if their racism guided their vote, they will tell you no, it was gas prices. Democrats will tell you, some of their best friends are Black. It’s just that one day soon, they’ll have to prove that. Here, let Joe Biden show you how it’s done.

The reasons Congress finally passed an infrastructure bill boil down to that they were scared not to. Now, if they can only be frightened into building back better.

David Waldman and Joan McCarter save the day! Where would Tuesdays be without them?

It’s hard to both-sides Paul Gosar. He’s more unlikeable than even Marjorie Traitor Greene, and for good reason. Paul joins every American conservative in constant unending fantasies about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Gosar's fantasies are no different than most, centered on anime and beheading. What is AOC to do, bring this to Kevin McCarthy? You don’t want to look into his mind, bud. Twitter fixed everything by placing a public interest notice on the tweet… Justice is also slowly inching towards the 16 year old pickup driver who rolled coal, then rolled over cyclists back in September. Reuters sleuthed out the Trumpers harassing election officials, by calling back their phones. Someone took pictures of Mike Pence temporarily realizing he was set up to die on January 6, before he was able sublimate that thought far away. Steve KG Bannon is still at large.

Meanwhile, there’s more January 6 committee subpoenas, to remind everyone of those we hated and almost forgot. Speaking of, Kellyanne Conway returns to remind everyone of how little she knew in the Trump administration. Kellyanne’s ignorance reaches way back, to refusing to understand institutionalized racism. (which remains as part of the institution to this day.)

Are Democrats too woke? Of course they are, as defined by the people who frame things like that as an insult. The demand for a new race-code among conservatives was palpable before Critical Race Theory came along. Glenn Youngkin wouldn’t have won without it… if he did win.

The House GQP is considering whether to strip committee assignments from Republicans who voted for infrastructure. Quick-thinking Rep. Nicole Malliotakis thanked Donald Trump for her decision. People like building back better. Smart Republicans don’t say that. A North Dakota representative will miss his anti-vaccine rally as he can’t decide which end to point at the toilet following his Ivermectin-Hydroxychloroquine smoothies. He should’ve followed the lead of the Illinois teacher who got vaccinated, so that she could safely fight against vaccines.

Joan calls in to celebrate the end of Infrastructure Weeks, and to instruct everyone to get back to work. Adding a debt ceiling to the BBB bill could fix both Joe Manchin and Mitch McConnell.  The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) could revert to Republican control, but zombie votes are out there, helping preserve the Democratic antitrust agenda.

As you might know, KITM stands for “KITM Is Totally iMpressive”, which David Waldman with Greg Dworkin demonstrate aptly this Monday.

President Joe Biden capped off the the last four years of Infrastructure Week quite nicely, by pushing through an historic infrastructure bill. Joe had some help of course, with even a few Republicans chipping in. Don’t worry, the others will all have their hands out when the fixes are divvied up. Joe also also brought in a half million jobs — in August! And, ended the war in Afghanistan. What can’t that guy do? Convince the press that this isn’t a disaster for Democrats. Joe’s polls will go up once the news catches on, and people see whose side he’s on. Biden’s vaccine mandate isn’t really a vaccine mandate, by the way.

Hey, what’s in that infrastructure bill, anyway? Well, you could read it… or just move on to the reconciliation bill, everybody else is, and it’s pretty cool too! Infrastructure needs to look forward to our electric future, and the Infrastructure bill does just that. The Tesla company is interested in an electric future for their sexy S, 3, X, and Y models (See what they did there?) and has been handling the infrastructure for a while. It’s even thinking of sharing some of it. 7-11 is adding chargers to its convenience stores. Tesla might add convenience stores to its chargers.

New Jersey’s governor has flipped from red to blue as far back as David can remember, and David can remember back a long way. Are Republican and Democratic governors pretty much the same, like states and commonwealths? Um, no. Arizona’s Governor Doug Ducey is routing federal coronavirus relief funding into anti-mask schools for example.

Republicans are certain to set themselves apart in memorable ways. An eighth-grader recorded his teacher going over a list of beliefs that might make Marjorie Traitor Greene blush. Paul Gosar fan-fics about killing AOC. There ends up being a limit to the amount of shame the University of Florida can take.

Kagro in the Morning is recorded before a live audience. Well, I’m not sure about today. No Diet Coke pops, microwave pings, or gas range sparks to be heard on today’s broadcast, but David Waldman sounds pretty healthy.

QAnon does have a hard time finding living people who don’t think they’re idiots, so many spent the day at Dealey Plaza searching for dead Kennedys and ended up at a Rolling Stones concert. Those are the kind of people running for office nowadays. At least 10 GQP who were at the Jan. 6 insurrection were just elected to office. More will be coming in 2022, although a few, such as “too blond for jail” Jenna Ryan, need to spend a few days in jail before establishing their PACs.

DURR! Ed Durr, Republican truck driver, deep thinker, represents those people taking over the countryMississippi Governor Tate Reeves won’t let this new generation out-imbecile him without a fight, and will sue President Joe Biden over one of his vaccine mandates. (Guess which one.) Ron DeSantis is assembling his new election crimes police force as a brilliant countermove to Roger Stone’s ambitions. Ron’s suppression of university professors has turned out to be less brilliant.

A Texas radio host bilked elderly listeners out of millions of dollars, and will be sentenced to 3 life prison terms… at 80 years old… most of his victims dead… most of the money spent. A cautionary tale that Donald Trump is certainly taking to heart. Trump will be in his 90’s before justice reaches him. A federal judge said she’d rule "expeditiously" on whether Donald can keep his records from the January 6 committee. If Donald Trump truly believed he had “Executive Privilege” he’d have had the Air Force drone strike a few places by now

Virginia Democrats did all the right things for voter’s rights, and this is the thanks they get? Hey now! You can’t say that trash about Loudoun Democrats! If Loudoun county were a state, you can bet they’d have a way different governor right now. Not everybody can be the smartest people, you know.

The Bolivian president, Luis Arce, at the UN Climate Change Conference, said the solution to the climate crisis is to change the model of civilization and move towards an alternative model to capitalism, the concept of living well together in harmony with Mother Earth. Oh well.

David Waldman and all of here at KITM World Headquarters wish you and yours a joyous Diwali! Hey, what could be wrong with a holiday centered around charitable giving, selfless service, and thorough house cleaning? Well, you don’t have to be Lauren Boebert to see that holiday isn’t from around here. It’s just more wokeness foisted upon our children in the guise of diversity, equity, inclusion, and pastry

In other words, it’s critical race theory, which really doesn’t need a ”definition” when we all already know what it means, right?

Other than rolling up into a fetal position, what can Democrats do now? Greg Dworkin suggests fixing the COVID-19 situation, for which all issues, including racism and intrinsic intolerance, seem to be aggravated.  And, while they are taking care of things, Dems need to take credit, even when they haven’t quite got around to taking care of those things. After all, it’s the message that’s important... So much for increasing voter access in VA. That’s what you get for doing good things.

It’s probably not all horrible, right? After all, didn’t this happen to them in 2017? In fact, us and them for the last 30 years? Except for the insurrection and rise of authoritarianism part? Plus, this time we get New Jersey.

Armando returns! First up, Florida, where everybody gets in trouble for crossing Ron DeSantis, which the University of Florida tried to vichy their way out of, but subsequently were caught. Hypocrisy and double-dealing didn’t fix things, and in fact brought more attention. Alumni are going to have a say in this now.

Today, a federal judge hears arguments on whether hundreds of pages of White House records can be withheld from the January 6 committee because Donald Trump says that he has executive privilege to do so. This morning we got to hear many of Armando’s arguments on the subject!

We lost 28 million extra years of life to COVID, partially because quarantines just aren’t our thing. The Air Force hasn’t approved any religious waivers for the COVID vaccine, partially because they aren’t as gullible as the NFL.

There was that election in Virginia. There are many takeaways, and there were many takes this morning. No hot takes here on today’s KITM though, just very cool ones from David Waldman and Greg Dworkin:

Glenn Youngkin won the governorship of Virginia by being connected in no way to Donald Trump, with the exception of just enough of the right people to push his margins up in just the right places. Loudoun county, home of KITM World Headquarters, stood proud against the onslaught, but still lost 15 points. Youngkin picked up the rural votes Dems leave on the table these days, and with them, a whole lot of Karens and their husbands. Point out CRT gaslighting to white suburban moms and you’ll be accused of indoctrinating children to Critical Gender Theory.

Perhaps Virginia isn’t the nation. Dems will probably squeak by in New Jersey. Wisconsin couldn’t oust its school board members. Republicans lost in Connecticut… but not just to Democrats. In Buffalo, Democratic Socialist India Walton won the primary, but might have lost the election when voters wrote down Byron Brown.

Is it time for Democrats to just give up? Probably not. David takes us back, back to the Constitutional Convention... no, even further back to the Articles of Confederation to get a clue on what can be done, and how to do it.

The Arizona Fraudit was quoted at 150 thousand, and came in around $9 million. Good thing Trumpers are a forgiving lot.

David Waldman and Joan McCarter celebrate All Souls Day, while also observing Election Day in the traditional Democratic manner, wringing their hands and checking the polls.

Virginia, beautiful this time of year, seems to be becoming dumber every minute. Uppity race theories and imaginary skirt wearing rapists are driving Republicans crazy to the polls, threatening Democrats across the board. Donald Trump rallied for Glenn Youngkin, by utilizing the miracle of the internet. Actually, Donald only ever rallies for himself, and Trump only wins when everyone else loses.

The FEC figures foreign money’s as good as any in U.S. referendum campaigns.

Oregon historic preservation committee was meeting to nominate sites associated with local African-American history, but was interrupted by an anti-CRT patriot/racist asshole’s “bias attack”.

Florida University blocked its professors from testifying against Ron DeSantis’ voter-suppression law, as it would go against the school’s interest to come into conflict with his administration.

Joe Manchin, pretty much the textbook example of stupidity, blows up infrastructure week, again, while he thinks it over some more. Other than that... and a few other negligible details like climate, prescription drugs and immigration and that thing’s ready to go. President Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi are keeping immigration in the bill, which the Senate Parliamentarian isn’t going to like, but who cares? Everyone knew Elizabeth MacDonough’s opinion on immigration before she even had the job.

Constitutional change is coming sooner than most think. It’s not like they’re the Articles of Confederation or something.

Jan. 6 investigators postponed pushing for Trump White House records because it might be messy and time-consuming, and who wants that? If rioters keep getting wrist slaps, wrist slaps will be all anyone will ever get.

Over three quarters of a million Americans have died from COVID-19 so far. The latest hundred thousand or so have turned out to be more young, Southern, rural, white, etc., etc.. Meanwhile, NYC workers march across Brooklyn Bridge to get their last minute vaccine shot so that they can hold on to their jobs.

David Woooo Waldman and Greg Devilishly Dworkin pack up after another successful war on Halloween, ready to take on National Deep Fried Clams Day along with the latest news:

President Joe Biden pounded the final nail into the coffin of Halloween, ghosting the holiday for a climate meeting in Scotland. Donald Trump always can be relied upon to creep that festive spirit, however.

In Virginia, Terry McAuliffe and Glenn Youngkin finish their gubernatorial race in a statistical dead heat… and you Democrats know how that is never a great place to be. Yep, Youngkin lied in his last ad, but Donald Trump is already confident enough to ooze up and take credit for Youngkin’s win, while of course hedging too, because he doesn’t love Glenn that much, ya pervert. To be safe, Youngkin continues to misspell “Loudoun county” to keep up his illiterate Trump cred.

Loudoun schools still do not offer a “Whites are Evil” curriculum. Certainly, “Whites are Saviors” has been a staple in public schools for generations. “Christians as Liberators” and “Males are Protectors” courses will also continue to be fundamental education. By the way, if you need to name an important female scientist, Eunice Foote would be a fine choice. The father of the Loudoun County girl sexually assaulted there believes that Loudoun county would be a bad venue for his trial on disorderly conduct.

The Washington Post put together an investigation into the causes, cost and aftermath of the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol so big and consequential no paywall could hold it.  January 6 was plotted in plain sight. Red flags were everywhere, and ignored by the Trump administration and the FBI. Not ignored by Donald Trump, he exploited them just like everything else. Kevin McCarthy and Lindsey Graham each had a short, momentary change of opinion for that moment when it was their asses going into the grinder. Michael Flynn, a spy, recruited other traitorous spies, as spies do.

The company that holds the software license for Trump’s new social network just wants them to tell the truth.

Thought yesterday felt like Friday? Just wait until you get a load of David Waldman with today’s KITM:

President Joe says Pope Francis says he can have communion, so there. The Church, and its followers invariably adhere to logic and openness, so that’s the end of that debate.

Mike Lee, Utah’s idea of a Republican, sees only outpourings of concern at school board meetings. That’s because these lunatics write their threats at home Anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, and anti-CRT kooks have been hanging around schools for a little while… okay, a long while… the less you know about history, the better it is for them.

It’s going pretty well for Glenn Youngkin as Trump supporters and closeted Trump supporters push Youngkin towards a lead in Virginia.

Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina did look pretty suspicious, dumping more than $1.6 million in stocks just before the coronavirus market crash, but just as he breathed a sigh of relief, Columbo re-entered the room with just one more thing: communications metadata showing a 50 second call to his brother-in-law, who then called his broker literally the next minute.

Lev Parnas is one more Trump crony going to jail for not having enough to flip on Donald, and too late to be pardoned unless there’s that second term… unless, of course Trump can pardon him from Mar-a-Lago. The January 6 committee is losing patience with Mark Meadows — Grrrrr!

So much for the military giving or taking orders, as thousands take a command as a suggestion.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin  deliver us to another Friday eve safe and informed. (Which tend to go hand in hand.)

President Joe Biden has a $1.75 trillion idea for how to fix things, which he presented to Democrats today. Unfortunately, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema continue to gum up the works with their Joementumtaking the heat off of Republicans, who are completely against anything happening ever.

Republicans do hate to have things happen, at least new things. Their fear and outrage caravans now invade local schools to hunt down Satan. Republicans always can find Satan when they look hard enough.  Those at the top worry that perhaps Trumpers found Satan a few times too often lately.

There’s nothing stickier than Trump’s taint. Just ask brownnosers Jeffrey Clark and Jon Eastman, the brains and law clout behind Donald Trump’s almost coup (which continues on its way to 2024) who no one in the real world wants anything to do with.

A white nationalist extremist at the capitol hated the press, so he dressed himself as the press, to attack the police, whom he loves, constantly shouting anti-semitic racist slurs, like some khnyok shtik drek.

Rats sometimes eat each other. Marjorie Traitor Green bought $50,000 in Trump SPAC Digital World shares… and lost thousands, so far. One of the biggest scammers in history, Elizabeth Holmes, met one of the richest dim bulbs, Betsy DeVos. Hilarity ensued.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin bring complexity to our simple world

New COVID cases are down nearly 60 percent since the delta variant surge! Hooray! Except for the thousands that died that could have lived. The healthcare infrastructure that still isn’t in place. Our slow response, again and again to pandemic threats. So, how much caution is healthy? How much bureaucracy is enoughThe answer is complex, unless you are simple

Take away the simple answers, and you can leave the Ivermectin at the feed store. A doctor felt that public health just wasn’t his business, and now it isn’t. West Virginia had the highest vax rate, but ran out of reasonable people. Florida ran out of people to infect.

If Dems succeed on their historic legislation… then what? It's almost too frightening to contemplate! Terry McAuliffe is winning in Virginia, but is it by enough? Meanwhile, Glenn Youngkin burns books into the homestretch. White Americans have been against Critical Race Theory ever since there were non-white Americans. White people learn all they need to know about “ANTIFA”, “BLM”, “ADL”, & “ACLU” from the “TV”.

A judge finds that a teen committed sexual assault in a Virginia school bathroom. David explains, in painful detail, exactly how the reality of the situation is far from that simple.

David Waldman reveals the latest shenanigans and diablerie in the world today, leaving time open for Joan McCarter, who was was fated by destiny to call in this morning. Also, she had it on her calendar.

Terry McAuliffe is tied in his gubernatorial bid, which will be painted as a Trump win no matter the outcome, although the outcome will be better if Terry wins. Terrifying Republicans is always a good political strategy. Terrified Floridians die by the thousands, and Ron DeSantis doesn’t mind the ”terrified” part at all. Joseph Ladapo would never qualify as a surgeon nor a general, but as Florida’s Surgeon General he’s a piece of crap too.

Lauren Boebert isn’t a smart woman. So, her attorney spoke for her yesterday.

James O’Keefe, inexplicably still out of jail, is at a disadvantage in a lawsuit for actions he has already described, published, and profited from.

Donald Trump’s SPAC of Truth was looking good to dimwits with money for a few days... longer than most Trump schemes. Donald might have already piloted it into an iceberg however, disappointing the scaramooches hoping Trump found a new shiny object. Mark Zuckerberg reads sad news every morning and counts his cash every night.

Trump was soothed out of rages by music man Max Miller, who is of course running for office in 2022. Trump’s press secretary Stephanie Grisham can tell you Max could use a bit of intervention himself.

Donald Trump infected his own Trumper deep-state cells all through Washington. Excising Trumpist cysts is painful and time-consuming, but necessary immediately. The most perianal of these abscesses, U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is becoming a chronic inflammation. You think that’s gross? You should try making sausage with Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema each day.

David Waldman tells us that scholars and wacky podcasters agree on filibuster reform... and even true conservatives would support it if we could find any.

Greg Dworkin asks, Is this the week the logjam breaks? Democrats need to do something! Of course, no one expects Republicans to do anything. Actually, it is on two Democrats to matter. WTF, Kyrsten Sinema? People who attempt to divine Sinema’s motivations presuppose that she has some.

Don’t ask pundits. What do they know?

Protest organizers told Rolling Stone that they participated in dozens of planning meetings with congress and White House staff in preparation for the January 6 insurrection. More importantly, those sources are talking to the January 6th committee about those meetings. Mark Meadows knew violence was coming, but must have had guessed he’d be spared. Paul Gosar promised rioters blanket pardons. Prior to the January 6 insurrection, stooges Rudy Giuliani, Steve Bannon and John Eastman holed up in the Willard Hotel war room with Donald Trump calling in.
Only a couple of people are needed to overthrow the US, and they are being put into place. You can expose, subpoena, arrest, convict and execute traitors, but you know it only gives them “street cred”.

Joe Biden works to unite Catholics, while Donald Trump tore apart Evangelicals.

Texas' Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick offered to pay up to $1 million in bounties for information that led to arrest and conviction of voter fraud. Pennsylvania’s Lt. Gov. John Fetterman was eager to help Patrick out, and Dan was eager for John to shut up, so Texas had to pay up. A Las Vegas man railed against disgusting voter fraud, when in the end, he just hated himself.

Florida school Board member Jennifer Jenkins supports masks, so she received harassment, including accusations of child abuse. People would be crazy to take her job, and that’s exactly the kind who want it.

Thank God it’s KITM, David Waldman, and Friday:

John Eastman, Federalist Society benefactor and beneficiary, remembers himself as the hero of January 6. Eastman’s memory is less than photographic, as it seems he wrote a memo advocating the opposite of what he now says.

Matt Gaetz finds himself so screwed right now, even without having to go to an ATM! In fact, the DOJ hooked a couple more prosecutors to that train he’s pulling.

Someone is demanding Loudoun County school board's superintendent resign over allegations…. misleading, inaccurateunsubstantiated allegations... but if you are as thirsty as Republicans are for Virginia, that’s good enough for you.

Colin Powell did plenty right, a bunch wrong, but a lot of it very important to many people.

President Joe Biden could be our filibuster-buster, which is good and all, but give him a moment, he’s got a few things on his plate right now.

Greg Dworkin is okay everybody! Unlike Greg, his washing machine sprung an unintended leak, and is not so okay. Greg was a bit preoccupied this morning and couldn’t call in. Abby remains a good dog, no leaks for her!

David Waldman is sick and tired of stupid, lazy criminals and is forced into giving free, thus non-lawyerly, advice to folks like Nevada Representative Jeff Fortenberry who predicted he would be indicted, as he had committed indictable acts, and was aware that the FBI had found out about them. Justice will be delivered to Jeff, and several others tied to catchily-named Gilbert Chagoury and Toufic Baaklini. Stupid and lazy Matt Gaetz stepped forward to be Fortenberry’s character witness.

Following the trend of Gab, GETTER, and Parler, and of Trump Steaks, Ice, and University will be no mean feat, but if anyone can do it, Donald Trump canDonald’s plowing a lot of other people’s money into this, and every penny shows.

Three quarters of a million Americans have died from COVID-19, officially today, but probably a long time ago. It will be officially more than a million soon. Unvaccinated will get it, keep getting it, and bite it eventually.

Virginia's ”bipartisan” redistricting commission collapses, again, which David could’ve told you would happen, and definitely told you today. A Federal Claims court judge retires… plans to retire… has a retirement plan.

Divers recovered David Waldman’s ancient sword off the coast of Israel, further hindering our plan to have David installed as rightful king of England this year. Their loss, your gain.

Greg Dworkin is also on hand with his patented home-spun doctorly advice on COVID-19 vaccination. Want a second opinion? The CDC now reports COVID cases and deaths by vax status, which also reveals differences between vaccines. The FDA is expected to allow mixing and matching of vaccine boosters, which not only is kind of fun, but could create stronger immune responses. The White House detailed its plan to roll out vaccines for children ages 5 to 11 The Supreme Court declined to block a vaccine requirement on Maine health care workers, which is a big win for everyone.

Each day, Steve KG Bannon halves the distance to being arrested for criminal contempt of Congress, but at this rate will he ever reach his destination? David looks ahead to what happens when subpoenas are defied… Actually, he looks back to all the times it has already happened, and even further back to explore the "inherent contempt" process, which could be the solution, if only Congress was aware of it.

Meanwhile, Democrats are dis-disarraying it all by calling everything “centrist”, and just stopping the harshing of everybody’s mellow for once. The GQP eats itself alive.

David Waldman reads today’s police blotter to report who could be jail, should be in jail, and would be in jail if wasn’t for the first two.

You know, cops don’t take their jobs to listen to anyone else tell them what to do, so if anyone will be following orders around here, it’ll be the covid virus

South Dakota Senate Majority Leader Gary Cammack was arrested, but his case is sealed, so we don’t know why he was arrested. We can guess, though.

Steve KG Bannon was subpoenaed by the committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. Steve defied the subpoena. Steve’s excuses have been rejected by the committee. The committee will vote to hold Steve in criminal contempt. Steve plans to get away with it. So does Donald Trump.

Democrats have trouble controlling much of anything, really. Don’t expect reformation or expansion of the Supreme Court. Joan McCarter is on to tell us about this and other farces. Chuck Schumer will bring the Freedom To Vote Act to the floor, and the Republicans will filibuster it. President Joe Biden negotiates with president Joe Manchin and queen Krysten Sinema, when he should be talking with Representative Pramila Jayapal.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin bring us another KITM… or was it Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk? Eh, both sides. Just like the Satanic Temple and… well, not the Church of Satan, they’re a little “out there”. Listener/Contributor John Ronald recorded an explainer, which David played on the show, so now we’re all Satanists.

David tried to add another side to a conversation on Twitter and was informed that just wasn’t the way things worked on the internet by The Hoarse Whisperer, who let slip the dogs of Twitter on him for the day. In the end, Hoarse showed he could be a bigger man, or at least, duck, by extending an apology.

Dr. Anthony Fauci says “Merry Christmas!”, MAGA refuses.

Colin Powell, the first Black secretary of state and Joint Chiefs of Staff, a bit of a war criminal, thoughtful, eloquentunindicted, but fully vaccinated, is dead from the complications of COVID-19, which were complicated by multiple myeloma, and by being 84 years old, which is enough to kill you without any complications.

Getting vaccinated is a no-brainer, or perhaps the no-brainers are the ones who resist being vaccinated. Still, the unvaxxed do have a point... or at least that is what you’re supposed to tell them.

Anti-mandate Governors are anti-voters. In Florida, they just don’t tell anyone how many are dying. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam continues to fight the pandemic, and his own “long COVID” for over a year.

Marjorie Traitor Greene and Matt Gaetz’s big fundraising PAC is nearly broke, which is exactly how grifts work, but pretty bad performance for a PAC. Marge has nothing better to do, so she got on a zoom call for Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller’s court-martial to rant between mutings.

Protesters have gathered outside KITM World Headquarters to protest David Waldman ignoring their many tweets. “F” them, it’s “F” day

Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters neglected her job to breach election security a couple times and all of a sudden she gained a reputation for being untrustworthy and is now being prohibited from acting as a designated election official.

Parents hate having their kids taught stuff in school, and oppose those attempting to indoctrinate their children to facts. It is to the point that schools have been suggesting teachers balance their Holocaust books with opposing viewpoints. Meanwhile, in Tennessee where they have a much more black and white viewpoint, black children are arrested and jailed for a crime that doesn’t exist.

Jeffrey Clark tried to destroy democracy, so it makes sense to subpoena him to testify before the House Select Committee assembled to look into those things. It only makes sense though if Clark, Steve Bannon, and others subpoenaed aren’t allowed to avoid those criminal contempt charges if they refuse to comply. Donald Trump tries the “Oh, well you’re in contempt!” defense, which actually has worked pretty well for him so far. Donald maintains that he is not into golden showers, the only lie that he got Melania to buy. Lev Parnas just might know the answer to that, but will be mostly addressing Russian puppet masters in his ongoing conspiracy trial.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin have a million things to share with you today, and about a thousand links with me...

Bill Shatner’s still trending, forcing David to reveal that he is not a “Star Trek nerd” (Like we didn’t guess that when he claimed that “Star Trek ships went everywhere at ‘maximum warp’...” SMH) That doesn’t mean David’s not willing to put in some effort though, especially when there’s charts and statistics involved.

Meanwhile, the January 6 Committee announced that they are subpoenaing Jeffrey Clark, a Trump plotter if there ever was one, and promised to hang tough on contempt charges, and maybe send some marshals to tase Steve KG Bannon. Who says Christmas is canceled?

Of course, there are people saying that. Those people are kind of dumb, or at least forgetful. Joe Biden will run ports 24/7 to fix supply chain problems, and there will be more complexities to address, notably by those paying shit. The pandemic is also slowing things up, here and around the world, but more importantly it is still killing people. Quite a few will be killed in the name of freedom, which is just the way the GQP likes it, especially lately. It wouldn’t surprise Republicans to know that mandates work, what matters is they just don’t work for them. The FDA is meeting on booster shots. Joe says smarten up and get vaccinated. Marjorie TP Greene and Joe Rogan support the Republican vaccine, Ivermectin.

It’s not just COVID-19. Republicans have a big tent for morons of all stripes. A man killed 5 people in Norway with a bow and arrow, but Lauren Boebert is certain he would’ve done better in the US. Michelle Steele wants to get rid of those ships ruining her view of the Pacific. Scott Pio wants all boats out of the ocean… just a thought… Islands are even bigger, so let’s move those onshore also. Trump ralliers pledge allegiance to the insurrection. Donald Trump doesn’t actually need people that dumb to succeed. People have been plenty dumb enough for him all along. The NRCC noted a a 74% increase in dumbasses just this quarter however. (A&TT will be sad to see them leave.) Texas finally smoked out their last intelligent Republican.

In Tennessee, if you show enough bigotry and hypocrisy, you might just slide.

Still, not enough people want Donald Trump to run again in 2024 for him to actually get elected, but there’s plenty enough if voting doesn’t matter anymore.

In Virginia, Glenn Trumpkin wants his Trump love on the DL, but Donald keeps sending flowers.

Chuck Schumer will file cloture on a bill to overhaul voting laws, cutting loose pesky Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, who seem pretty awful until you look across the aisle.

David Waldman and KITM proudly present: Wednesday!

William Shatner rode Blue Origin’s great penis of the galaxy a few feet up into the final frontier, becoming America’s favorite space geezer.

Terry McAuliffe, a popular Democratic candidate in a blue state, might win, might notdepending on the enthusiasms of the people voting.  Unfortunately, half of those voters are in a frothing rage-panic, every waking moment, which sure beats being informed.

Oh no! Does this mean Democrats will lose everything from now on? Well, settle back and just sit tight, while Greg Dworkin starts reviewing the attitude of doing right —  You've got to accentuate the universaltriangulate the ideological, eschew the label “liberal”, because winners are alwaysmister in-between”… maybe.

Republicans help all they can by being simply horrible. Q-nuts and violent lunatics are everywhere, which must eventually hurt their chances, right? The Dallas Regional Chamber distanced itself from Greg Abbott on his anti vaccine mandate mandate, so maybe that’s a start… Nah. They’re taking us to Hell.

If Joe Biden can only bring back holiday shopping, perhaps the Democratic party will survive. Letting us see Steve Bannon get tased on TV might help too.

Democrats do still have a few dummies, although a couple fewer now with the firing of Fulton County election workers guilty of shredding voter registration forms. Republican election workers can get fired for less… a lot less. A pro-Trump PAC made millions illegally, spent a few thousand in fines years later. They probably made more in interest.

Jon Gruden was fired for a victimless crime, with the exception of LGBTQI+ communities, Blacks, women and a few others. At least Gruden was entertaining to a few bigots. Another woke-victim being canceled for no reason: Brett Favre.

We are almost at 80% vaccinated now. Any way you look at it, that is good news. A record number of people have taken their job and shoved it, because there are better jobs out there than the one they have.

David Waldman breaks the news into sparkling shards of infotainment:

Old-school coach Jon Gruden ends up being old-school to the core.

Instead of the usual Ashley Madison video, Donald Trump released an Ashli Babbitt video, to stoke the passions of his black flaggers out there. Donald is slowly selling off his assets and sycophants to buy himself a little more time until he can get back to sucking the US dry. The whole Trump family was always trash, by the way, always ready to take anything from anybody, anytime, anywhere. The Saudis gave them fake White Tiger and Cheetah Furs, because that just screams “Trump” doesn’t it?

Southwest pilots have taken a principled stand against the tyranny of mandates, in the imaginations of social media goofballs. Those same people who know a person injured by the Covid vaccine.

Greg Abbott mandated against mandates to dictate what private businesses will and will not do. A girl shut down her school, was arrested, fined and owned plenty of libs, but until she climbs through a Capitol window, she shouldn’t expect any lasting attention.

We missed out on minting a trillion dollar coin again. What we now could use, what the world could use, is a global minimum tax, a phrase soon to be made terrifying through Republican framing. Joan McCarter describes how Joe Manchin ran to Republican’s defense, flipping the narrative into how mean Democrats are. Manchin, and former Green Party rep Kyrsten Sinema aren’t saying what they would pay for, but it won’t be the environment. Mitch McConnell took credit for not destroying the global economy so far, while promising to destroy the global economy in December.

David WaldmanGreg Dworkin and all the folks here at KITM World Headquarters wish you a well-observed Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Not yet quite day of atonement and repentance for everyone, or even appreciation, but at least president Joe Biden took America one more step to official recognition today. Consider that ”the former guy” was honored by this day to make up for a different set of American atrocities and abuse, and that worked out pretty well.

The pandemic might be declining, but we’re still heading into winter, and that’s never good for those things. The biggest dim-wit lunatic to avoid catching COVID-19 so far, Allen West, finally did get some, which sent him to the hospital, unfortunately not wising him up one whit. Even killing West probably wouldn’t make him a bit smarter, but if it just saves lives in the long run it might well be worth it. Hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, and snorting cocaine do not cure COVID-19, just get the vaccine already. Karens across the political spectrum now demand to know why Joe Biden keeps infecting people, however it’s the supply chain, stupid, and the stupid supply chain that’s actually screwing things up for everyone.

Oh no, 2022 so soon? Democrats plan to move the rest of their agenda onto the front burner while also figuring out how to take a trillion or so off the top. Republicans aren’t as concerned about the midterms as they have a civil war scheduled just ahead of them. No more deep-state anti-Trump RINOS like… Steve Mnuchin... Donald Trump has all of his loyal soldiers in place this time, and brand-new Confederate statues to erect. Donald does wonder why the Constitution would even care about him, when he’s never had a care about it.

Well, the filibuster survived a close brush with death last night, as the Senate eked out a win on cloture for a short-term debt limit hike.

That means our visit with Eli Zupnick of Fix Our Senate was particularly well-timed. And we’ll probably get another chance to check in with him again soon, since we’ll be right back in this mess by early December, if not before, whether over the debt limit, a government shutdown, voting rights, or any of a dozen other critical items on the agenda.

Speaking of the debt limit, how about this creative filibuster workaround?

And speaking of creative workarounds, how about this exasperating corporate-sponsored detour from reality: the AT&T-OANN nexus?

David Waldman is recovering after a second bout of earwax removal ads. Symptoms include pronounced nausea, so I won’t be sharing those pictures.

Greg Dworkin is back for the last time this week, so enjoy him while you can

Mitch McConnell lost a little yesterday. He would lose a lot more often if he didn’t have the filibuster, so he picked the next worst deal for himself. That sad little scrap of paper on the Capitol steps is still sad, but lives another day or so.

In lieu of governing, Republicans are trying out alternatives. Rather than redistricting, Arkansas lawmakers are attacking vaccine mandates. Several governors found a border, some Humvees and a great big political grandstand. While Idaho’s governor grandstanded in Texas, his lieutenant governor built hers at home.

Convalescent plasma treatment is futile to treat COVID-19 patients, so perhaps the best thing to do instead would be to get vaccinated, wear a mask and not catch it. Anti-vaxxers went and made Uncle Joe stop this car, which is all some of those brats needed to straighten up.

And yet, a guy in Maryland shot and killed his pharmacist brother for giving out the vaccine. Where would someone get such ideas and indoctrination?  AT&T, possibly. Journalists are finally reconsidering their ideas of neutrality, invading privacy, and source relationships with cops, while hopefully moving far away from the Acela corridor.

The CDC wants to study the true toll of guns in America. The results will shock everyone, but not surprise anyone.

A great ad might not mean a great candidate. So watch out for viral candidates that seem too good to be true, or just support the people you trust to support the candidates you will be glad to see in those positions.

A federal judge blocked the Texas abortion ban, which is great, but not the end of the fight.

The Senate Judiciary Committee reported that Donald Trump attempted to use the Justice Department to overthrow the country in 2020, however DOJ officials were about to reveal his plot, so he he gave up on that scheme.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin explain it all today. If you can’t keep up, play it twice:

COVID-19 hospitalizations are dropping. The death toll is rising. We are starting to recover. Unvaxed and unmasked kids cases are soaring. Meanwhile, doctors and scientists loudly debate whether you in particular “really” need that booster, or only “think” you want that booster. Scientists don’t see that as confusing at all. They’re happy to have their vocal scientific debate right in the open, which is just as reassuring to the public as hearing your airliner’s pilots debate flying technique over the intercom, while watching parachutes pass your window.

It is more inspiring to hear one sure voice, which is what Joe Biden plans to have soon. It always kind of works for Trumpists, even when they have absolutely nothing else to offer. Midsize, Midwest factory towns have lost interest in hearing what Democrats have to say, just when Democrats need to hold their governors in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania to hold onto democracy.

Back in DC, there are no longer any Republican moderates, unless you’re counting Sinema and Manchin. Americans still support Democratic bills, but are losing faith in Democrats. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time to nuke the filibuster, even if it’s just a Cinderella nuke, and everything changes back to pumpkins at the stroke of midnight. If Joe Manchin doesn’t know what a filibuster is for, he won’t mind if it is out for a day. 92 legal scholars suggest Dems tell the Senate parliamentarian to stick it, at least on her immigration decision.

Many January 6 rioters went straight to hidden Capitol security weak spots, as if they knew where they were in advance. Time to call Dog the Bounty Hunter out on Dan Scavino. Plan to call the cops on the lot of Trump henchmen. Take this January 6 coup investigation up a notch and show them, and the media that insurrection is serious business.

David Waldman helps us understand it all today, at least the important parts:

That other person on earth who actually pronounces the word “adversary” like David does, Fiona Hill used to be the smartest person in the room with Donald Trump, right up to the day Donald discovered she wasn’t the Diet Coke lady. Therefore, Hill can appreciate exactly how January 6 was a coup attempt. Hillary Clinton was right about Donald Trump, and a whole lot of other things too.

Most whipped man since Theon Greyjoy, Mike Pence says it’s your fault Donald hates him so. Pence’s role in the insurrection might be even worse than we knew, although Mike must have guessed what the penalty for opposing the Eastman Memo would be. Marjorie Traitor Greene dimly perceives danger heading her way...

Boy, Donald’s in trouble now! Wow, how many times have we heard that? How many more times will we? So, Trump’s a little “poorer” now, although you know he’s only ever spent other people’s money his whole life. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago buddies tried to get the VA to sell access to Veterans’ medical records.

Joan McCarter returns from vacation, disappointed that no one bothered to clean up the joint while she was gone. Joan describes the easy ways Democrats can fix everything. Susan Collins finds an even simpler path for Republican victory.

Hell is other people, and they had nothing to do for hours when Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, whatever that is, went down. Man, you could never see that coming, huh?

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin return from one of those uneventful weekends we could get used to, bringing the news, nuance, and insight we’re already grown accustomed to:

Dems in disarray! Well, more like those two. More like that one, hiding her feet in the bathroom stall. Other than those two, it’s just people working to get things done. Sausage making ain’t pretty, but the thing is, people like sausage. Talk about the benefits for once, instead of the price. Try a sample, if you like it, buy some more.

The other side of the aisle, however, is a far-away place. Mint a coin, or have a trillion dollar NFT painted by George Bush or whatever and get the bills out there. Stupid bloggers come up with ideas all the time, but who listens to them?

How do you negotiate with a party centered on racism? No, wait, it’s “white nationalism”. It’s just hard to separate them sometimes.

Black churches, parents and schools are doing a great job moving teens to vaccination. Vaccine mandates are saving lives across the country. It still isn’t over, though. Alaska is forced to triage patients due to COVID-19 pandemic stress on the hospital system.

Louis DeJoy still runs the Post Office, and he’s still running it into the ground. And yet the USPS might establish one of the greatest aids to help lower income Americans, ever, a postal banking system.

Just throwing this in here now, as I don’t know where else to put it: Corey Lewandowski hit on a married Republican donor by telling her about his giant penis, that he killed two guys, that he lasts 8 hours in bed, all while groping her, and yet she still was not smitten.

David Waldman ends the week, begins the month and sends us on our way with a lot to chew on:

What? No agreement in Congress yet? Well, governing is tough stuff, which about half of Congress can attest to. Katie Porter reminds the handful of Dems that don’t know that, this all isn’t about them.

Override the Parliamentarian!” is difficult to fit on a bumper sticker or t-shirt, or into a chant, but it shows that activists are willing to learn how Congress, and spellcheck, work.

Brett Kavanaugh contracted COVID-19, sadly, he remains asymptomatic. Get worse Brett! Meanwhile, the few unvaccinated who quit their jobs end up both unemployed and dead. Easier access to farm supplies seems to be no advantage to rural Americans, who are dying at double the rate of urbans.

100 Americans a day do die from bullet holes. The CDC has determined that this could be a health issue worth studying.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch, at increasingly more schools due to pandemic-related supply chain disruption. Fox hosts rejoice.

John Durham the bounty hunter finally caught his man… Rodney Joffe! Oh, and there was a server called “mail1.trump-email.com” communicating between Alfa Bank and Spectrum Health...

Mr. Pillow and his election denialists were slapped down again in Idaho, but it’ll take a lot more than that to knock the delusions out of those thick skulls.

Alex Jones refused to cooperate with his prosecutors in two Sandy Hook lawsuits. Turns out, the prosecution doesn’t need his help.

Stephanie Grisham describes that, when it came to Covid, foreign policy, the economy, etc., Jared and Ivanka had the keys to Donald Trump’s one brain cell

Members of Congress are using their leadership PACs as their personal expense accounts, because after all they have to keep up appearances.

Greg Dworkin has another big raft o’ stories ™ for today’s KITM, and as always, accompanied by David Waldman’s expert and insightful nattering.

With hours to spare, Chuck Schumer says he’s ready to move forward if everyone else is, avoiding today’s crash by moving it a few weeks away. The smoke-filled room for this negotiation was of course, the annual Congressional Baseball Game. (Which ended with a FAKE score.) Ah, it’s a tale as old as time, or at least a hundred yearsCheck out your Congressional Research Service for more details.

Democrats are split on everything, because that’s how they roll. Republicans are as usual, split on rationales for obstruction. Unfortunately, good policies and popular choices don’t win elections. Kyrsten Sinema laughs at her constituents, while voters and supporters abandon her, but what does she care

This sort of thing would never happen in Canada! It’s not too late, let’s be Canada! They’re great! Unless you’re indigenous, then they’re about the same.

You know what else we’ve been doing for a long time? Vaccine mandates. We’ve had mandates for as long as we’ve had scofflaws, and visa-versa. A kick in the pants is all a lot of them really need. Vaccine mandates work, because people just want to live a normal life again and not worry about getting sick and dying. They’ll thank Joe later.

Republicans are feeling a lot more forgiving about January 6th lately. The news can barely remember that far back. The law will remember longer.

Corey Lewandowski is every bit the skeeze you’d picture him to be, unless you’re Kristi Noem or something. King skeeze, Donald Trump, asked Stephanie Grisham's boyfriend if she was "good in bed”, about the time he was assuring her that his penis was totally normal.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin use today’s KITM  to help us think through what’s happening in Congress this week. If any of us do figure it out, there’s plenty of people in DC who’d like to know, too. Well, we kind of do know what is happening there, but but it is tough to see who would want any of this to happen...

Mitch McConnell wants everything to suck, like he always has. Joe Biden does get what progressives want to build back better, but keeps getting hung up on what Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema want to build. Manchin wants whatever is best for him, which often works out well for his constituents. Sinema hasn’t got a clue, which will become clear even to her, once the infrastructure package passes, or once she’s primaried the hell out.  Swing districts need to show results more quickly than infrastructure can provide however, to hold onto their jobs. Nancy Pelosi doesn’t have the time for this. If only she were allowed to use an actual whip

Democrats are too busy to tackle fascism at the moment. Maybe later? The media might post something if it’s a slow day, once they first GPS a few pro-fascist diners to swing by. We’re lucky that most of our fascists have been morons so far.

Donald Trump didn’t want anyone making butt-stuff jokes about his colonoscopy, therefore it was kept secret, although Trump did demand to stay awake during the procedure so that he wouldn’t miss a single sensation. Donald also figured that once he was asleep, the nurses would joke about his small, toadstool shaped penis. So… just wait until you hear what Omarosa has to say!

David Waldman showed up on time today, and completed all assignments, pretty much clinching our coveted KITM Employee of the Month plaque once again,124 months running!

Nancy Pelosi is known to be an expert in counting votes, and she must not like what she’s counting right now. So now, as the bipartisan infrastructure bill drifts away from the social funding plan, how do Democrats expect to build anything back better? Well, they could give up on leveraging Manchin and Sinema, and can certainly forget expecting Republicans to bridge the difference. How would nuking, or suspending the debt ceiling go over with the Senate parliamentarian?

Marjorie Traitor Greene just wishes she could monkey wrench government like Kyrsten Sinema. Marj can’t even beat the House prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. Kristi Noem pulled strings and berated state employees to get her daughter a job, and is now offended that people would drag her kids into charges of “nepotism”.

Speaking of, Liz Cheney tries out her old man’s trick of taking down all sides before recommending herself for the prime position. Her pal Harriet Hageman used to believe Donald Trump was racist and xenophobic, but now realizes that Donald is the greatest president of her lifetime, etc.

Facebook is rotten and awful. Let David continue to count the ways.

David Waldman, on the mend from his bout of not-COVID-19 brings in Greg Dworkin for some not-interruptive discourse on the latest news:

Feel that shift in power? Yesterday in Germany Angela Merkel's center-right party lost to Olaf Scholz’s center-left party, sort of, as a small nudge in this rainbow of coalitions could tip it back. Here’s what all those letters and numbers stand for.

The fraudit was not an audit! It is a travelling con, and if it hasn’t officially come to your state, it’s still there, part of every election happening now, soon, or in the foreseeable future. When Donald Trump promises the US won’t survive, he plans to deliver. Take Trump literally or seriously… please.

Might America be hurtling towards a nationwide shortage of morons? Some disgruntled healthcare staff have quit, but the last thing anyone requiring healthcare needs, it’s disgruntled staff

People don’t want to get sick. They don’t need to hear the scientific/medical/government decision-making process, they really just need guidance on what to do, now. If you already suffered through a coronavirus infection, you might still get sick again.

Anonymous’ hack of Epik affected 100,000 customers. That’s a lot of Nazis, Militia, and child pornographers! And, as it turns out… a lot of Republicans, too, and a lot more to come.

Nancy Pelosi vows to pass the infrastructure bill this week. Republicans say the bill is “fake”, and therefore will not raise the debt ceiling… Ah, but what if the debt ceiling is actually the thing that’s fake?

David Waldman squeezed out one more KITM before a weekend of recuperation. Good thing Joe lets us have weekends now!

Donald Trump is such a loser! It is so hard to believe that one person could lose in so many ways, we may need a forensic audit of the number to be completely certain…

The hand count in Maricopa AZ confirms that Trump lost to Joe Biden, just like he lost all the other times, but this time he lost by even more votes. As Trump heads to big losses in more states, he has changed his tactic to demanding audits in states he won

The House select committee on the January 6 insurrection is subpoenaing Trump aides. They won’t cooperate, Trump will invoke “executive privilege”, although he doesn’t even have the power to tweet “executive privilege” anymore.

Some Capitol police took selfies with the rioters, some did much more than that.

A Republican crime wave is spreading unreported, because reporters can’t believe it is happening. The right wing will do and say what they want, where they want, and hackers love them for itLauren Boebert paid rent and utilities with campaign funds, because she’s too dumb to be corrupt, even with this system.

Facebook supports thousands of scammers to help fleece their billions of saps. Mark Zuckerberg personally approved pushing pro-Facebook stories into the news feeds, and handed the FTC a $5 billion tip to not sue him personally. In his defense, Mark says he made that surfboard go by himself.

No, the debt ceiling doesn’t need to be raised, and Nancy Pelosi wishes you’d just read the constitution.

David Waldman is still a little under the weather, but also now a little under the influence, OTC-wise, balancing out the entertainment levels in today’s KITM-NFTGreg Dworkin calls in, allowing David valuable tea-sipping time.

Winter is coming, which will increase the chances of transmitting, and being transmitted COVID. On the other hand, some projections show the pandemic declining. Unfortunately, the risk of being assaulted by an a pro-pandemic maniac keep increasing. The solution to that, and many related issues, won’t be coming from science.

Trump-fueled violence of all kinds isn’t over yet. The good news is that Donald Trump might be over soonLongtime Gop operatives have finally been charged with funneling rubles to Donald. Federal prosecutors have waited until the last moment to charge Trump, which ends up being the best moment.

Speaking of Russia, John Durham was sent out to avenge Donald Trump’s honor, and as expected, didn’t come back with much.

Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi announced that they have a framework for their infrastructure package, surprising Democrats. Some plan is better than none at all, which is usually the plan. Moderates always want the status quo, which no one is offering anymore.

Republican or Democrat, if you want democracy, there’s only one ticket.

David Waldman might not have COVID-19. He probably doesn’t, but we will all breathe easier when when the test results are in. David did make it through the whole two hours, with a big assist from Greg Dworkin.

Thousands are dying each day from Covid, and it’s still the well-ventilated summertime.  Laura Ingraham points out that fewer than 600 sets of parents have watched their children die so far. She and Tucker Carlson should be the GoFundMe parents should turn to.

It turns out that monopolies have disadvantages handling crises such as pandemics.

The Biden economic agenda is poised to transform caregiving in America. Things are looking a bit bleak in Washington right now, but they did for Obamacare for a while too. Some of the moderate, centrist, Democrats standing in the way are actually conservative, perhaps a little Republican. Maybe they can run that way after they lose their present jobs

Democrats consider which minute rules they might have missed which may get them through obstacles. Republicans usually consider which rules they should ignore. Cyber Ninjas should have taught us that it is past time to protect democracy. Eliminating the filibuster will help prevent future election stealing. In Oregon, Republicans are furious that they can’t shut down redistricting. Trump knew his voting machine claims were lies. We all did.

Donald Trump pretends to be president, and is thinking about a pretend Airforce One.

David Waldman has a touch of that thing going around, but at least it’s not THAT thing. Get well David! It also seems like I had some thing back in ‘18, forcing David to write the summary... Anyhow, tap the link above to relive one of the more annoying periods of the previous administration:

It’s not just another day of Kavanaugh craziness. It’s a Day of Kavanaugh Craziness. The bizarro theory that Brett Kavanaugh had an evil twin takes root, declares Mission Accomplished, and is then deleted. Who’s behind it? That Ed Whelan guy. Boy, I dunno.

Armando joined in the wide-ranging discussion of just how nutty this whole thing is becoming, plus other assorted sad tales of our times.

Is Trump even dumber than we thought? Or is this actually within tolerances for his stupidity? Apparently, he thinks Spain can deter migrants by building a wall. Across another continent. Seems like a fine time to have him chair a UN Security Council meeting, then.

More about that thing where Yale Law profs and/or “Tiger Moms” are said to be “grooming” clerks for Kavanaugh. That’s a loaded word. And maybe it’s the right one. But this is just the latest twist to a long-standing practice that keeps the loop closed on elite legal careers.

Trump’s team sets about gaslighting you about his confession to Lester Holt.

There was always something… not right…  about that guy who was so keen on 3-D printing guns.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin bring us the latest, and this weekend’s latest too!

The Justice for J6 rally demonstrates that the right can lose a battle of wits with themselves when no one brings the ammunition. Are the Dems actually killing unvaccinated Trump supporters by mandating vaccines and masks, assured that the right will kill themselves to own the left? Inconceivable! Get well from your breakthrough infection Justice Putnam — that wasn’t part of our plan!

Even Fox News polling shows non-fruitcakes strongly support many vaccine requirements. Pfizer has determined that its vaccine is safe and effective in children ages 5 to 11, which probably means self-immolation protests at school board meetings are inevitable.

Maria Butina, Russian honeypot spy here in the US for a bit, has been elected to the Russian parliament, where she is now suspected of being a US spy

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is at Trump levels of disapproval and yet could go loweralright, alright, alright!

Washington reporter for 3 decades, Andrew Taylor quits the cesspool.

While thousands die each day, DC heads toward the cliff, again.  The Senate parliamentarian dealt a crushing blow to the hope of minimum wage increases and immigration reform in the budget reconciliation bill if Democrats let her.

David Waldman returns, atoned, rested and ready for one more KITM before the weekend.

One way to prepare for this weekend, is not to head to the Capitol for this weekend’s rally. Not many go to these things anymore, anyhow. Insurrectionists prefer more of a sense of “ambush” to their riots, and they’re just not feeling it in this one. For example, Donald Trump was really stoked only yesterday, but when he heard there would be no MAGA hats, he felt a little chill go through his Depends.

If you did have plans to go, and are an unvaccinated idiot, instead check out your local ICU, as they are getting pretty busy! Laura Loomer now has Covid, as she should. America’s most celebrated idiot, Sarah Palin, painted a huge Covid target (surveyor mark) on herself, but for some reason Covid, and Karma, just keep missing her.

Pennsylvania’s fraudit got off to a wild, awkward, ridiculous start, as would be completely expected. Who wouldn’t give a third party their name, birth date, address, drivers license number, last four digits of their Social Security number and how they cast their vote? The FBI is looking into the woman that turned off security cameras to do a little late-night “backing up” of information. Donald Trump figures that if these people ran elections, it could fix things.

Donald better hurry. Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick revealed that Democrats plan to take over the US using voting machines, and also by breeding like rabbits. Dems are already 7 million ahead, but Elise Stefanik warns that they’re always looking for more.

Today, David Waldman is off being meaningfully contemplative, so again KITM travels back in time, to Rosh Hashanah. Not that recent one, however, but way back to ‘73 5773

It was the first anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, Elizabeth Warren was on her way to a win, Linda McMahon was on her way to a loss, everyone was comparing Mitt Romney to James K. Polk… or at least Mitt was, and David still was rocking his NPR voice, all while predicting the imminent retirement of past-his-prime author Bob Woodward. Here’s David’s take at the time:

Happy 5773, Earth! You don't look a day over 5750, if you ask me. It's September 17th, and Occupy Wall Street is back out on the streets, marking its anniversary. Daily Kos contributing editors Greg Dworkin and Steve Singiser joined the show with their polling and punditry roundups, plus listener calls led us to discussions of the importance of your vote (especially in local elections) and the unfortunate decline in impact and value of Bob Woodward's insider journalism.

Landslide! Gavin Newsom is not recalled, not even a little bit.

But, with 46 contenders, there was, of course a “winner”, whose “loss” was actually a “win”…  You guessed it, Frank Stallone. Also, if you listen to Kasie Hunt, Nate Silver and Chris Cillizza… Wait, if you are smart enough to listen to David Waldman and Greg Dworkin, what do you care about those idiots?

What matters is that Newsom won, by running against Trump, and Trump wasn’t even running, just like he won’t be in 2022. Donald Trump is set to be the guy all Democrats and some Republicans will be running against for a long time to come. Meanwhile, Larry Elder was caught using Republican fraud boilerplate, which so far hasn’t worked for anyone. The GQP is martialing their forces elsewhere.

The U.S. Army says active duty soldiers must be vaccinated by December 15. Once vaccinated, most people will just move on to something else they don’t want to do. Some unvaccinated people will wish they had. Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts approves of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B and chickenpox vaccine mandates...

Rioting police in Philadelphia smashed a black woman’s car windows and beat her. Later, they passed around photos of them “rescuing” her child. The city will pay this lady $2 million, in lieu of prosecuting the officers, learning a lesson, etc.

Wretched hives of scum and villainy, the Trump Towers, aren’t what they used to be. The scams are drying up, and so is the rent. In New York, about the only reliable tenants are the 15th floor, which is home of Trump’s MAGA PAC, and up to 3 employees, sometimes.

We rely on David Waldman to follow the news wherever it takes him to supply us important information to bring into our day. You won’t believe where he had to go today.

Veronica Wolski, who would record herself wearing a face mask (No, a “Zorro” mask, lol) to torment store employees and bring joy to her QAnon viewers, has died of Covid. Lin Wood says that’s just like Herman Cain, and he’s right. It is hard to keep up with all the anti-vaxers getting their ticket punched lately, although that pastor who mocked AIDS deaths really earned his. The GQP comes out against all vaccine…”mandates”… (wink!) Now those douche-gargling vaccine deniers are (reads notes) gargling douches! Nicki Minaj has almost completed the required epidemiologic research to be able to competently advise her 22 million Twitter followers. Nicki checked with her cousin’s friend in Trinidad and now has concerns about the size of his testicles. Minaj fan Dr. Raven the Science Maven describes how vaccines work to save your body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody (Mwah!)

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went to the Met Gala, offending those who want her to stick to sackcloth and Mao tunics. Everyone pulls out their rulebooks and highlighters. Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney worked very hard on her dress, let’s give her a hand.

The people most in fear of people of color end up being those most in fear about “critical race theory”.

In California, Gavin Newsom is probably going to win, Larry Elder is definitely going to whine, but we won’t know until it’s over, and they fix their dumb system.

In DC, Republicans root for Manchin and Sinema to screw everything up, but quietly, because no one wants to be seen with Manchin and Sinema.

A bad guy with a gun might have thought, in some QAnon sort of way, that he was a “good guy” when he tortured and killed a family, including a 3 month old and the family dog, while “interrogating” them to rescue a girl he had only imagined existed.

Ed Henry sued Fox News for firing him for sex trafficking, harassment, revenge porn, sexual assault and rape, but apparently handcuffing his victim and threatening her did not sit well with the judge.

Six officers might be reprimanded for playing for the wrong team January 6th.

It’s Monday, and David Waldman, with Greg Dworkin, present to you a KITM. After that, you’re on your own.

Greg and David open the show with a remembrance of 9/11, not forgetting how it lead to the deaths of millions in the Middle East, institutionalized war crimes, destroyed US freedom and democracy, and established white nationalism and bigotry as accepted American values.

This weekend, George W. Bush said a smart thing a couple of decades too late. Donald Trump wasn’t at Ground Zero in 2001, and he wasn’t there again. Instead Donald was at the De La Hoya Holyfield vs. Some Other Guy fight, and also a Moonie shindig. Meanwhile, Rudy Giuliani couldn’t book the Four Seasons, but did find a place that let him run a bar tab.

Vaccination mandates make sense, medically and politically. More than half of Americans support vaccine mandates. Republicans don’t want to be vaccinated against anything they can pretend away. Their big fear is that mandates could work as well as vaccinations. Podunks catch headlines fighting the rebel cause, while most businesses prefer to get back to business. Covid rapid tests cost a lot because manufacturers like money.

Will a booster shot help? Eh, it wouldn’t hurt. However, the dangers of walking through fecal fountains and poop plumes have been well established and you should consider double, or triple masking against those incoming... or outgoing effluvia, and not just for Covid’s sake.

Californians know it’s fun talking trash about their Governor, but when it’s time to put up, they know when to shut up. Every losing Republican will still be crying fraud from now on.  Stephanie Grisham (Not Winston Wolkoff) never took questions before, but did come up with the answer on when Trumpworld was aware of the 1/6 riots.

Joe Biden might need to take Joe Manchin out behind the barn for a while.

About that dazzle of zebras — mistakes happen, that’s all David can say at this time.

The top news of the day, of course, was President Biden’s address announcing his new federal policies to combat the continuing pandemic. And of course, the instant, reflexive opposition from Republican governors, particularly those considering running for president in the near future. Which is to say, all of them.

Naturally, all of them have terrible track records on COVID as a result. So I spent an hour or so on Twitter as well as on the air putting their failures in terms their constituents could understand. That is, given their per capita death rates, how many of the people in the stands at The Big State U. football game this weekend would die, if fans died at the same rate as COVID patients in their state. The results are startling.

Meanwhile, in the real world, there’s every indication that Biden’s plan is just what most people have been waiting for.

Oh, and while we’re on the topic, Kellyanne Conway deserves a special spot in the hot place for this supremely shitty COVID take. And speaking of Conway, she and a bunch of other Trumpniks got their asses bounced from some cushy federal advisory board positions TFG gifted to them. So they’re crying. And of course, they’re not entitled to. Oh, and by the way, one of them (like Mike Flynn) is a spy.

Have you ever admitted to wondering whether, with all these Trumpy Republicans dying from COVID, it could actually impact the outcome of the next elections?

Have you ever admitted to wondering whether, with all these Trumpy Republicans in the Senate (and some Trumpy Democrats), Democrats looking to include immigration reform in the reconciliation bill might fire the parliamentarian?

Steve Bannon is stupid. Arizona Republicans are stupid. You really shouldn’t cross the streams.

The DOJ is stepping up its game on the Texas abortion law.

Well, it was a rough day. How about we pick up everyone’s spirits with a nice obituary? No, really, you should read it.

David Waldman allows Greg Dworkin back onto the KITM stage once Greg promised to not work so blue today. He also turned off the New Age background music, so Abby went somewhere else to downward dog.

Tennessee encouraged teens to get vaccinated. The GQP told them to shut up, and they did. Now, in Mississippi, fetal deaths have doubled among unvaccinated pregnant women with COVID-19. Red/unvaccinated states continue to die/own the libs.

Joe Biden is going to have pull this car over again.

Wisconsin’s Ron Johnson shares heartbreaking stories of the people oppressed by vaccines and masks. Florida’s Ron DeSantis isn’t big on masks and vaccines as he is on Regeneron. Then again, his top donors don’t make masks and vaccines… Salad tycoon Jonathan Neman figures more salads should be mandated, as thinner people are naturally free from health worries. Shopping for salad, a woman found herself oppressed by just the sight of masks on other people. She is now free of her employment. If you take Ivermectin, you can be free of birth control, forever!

450,000 more Americans have died since Donald Trump promised free Regeneron.

Robert Mercer and a few co-workers over at Renaissance Technologies will pay about $7 billion to the IRS in fines, and probably around that price to make sure they aren’t hassled again.

Robert E. Lee, loser, went down again in Virginia, but the most interesting thing might be what was under his statue.

Barack Obama, winner, is out stumping for Gavin Newsom and against Gavin’s recall. Larry Elder is all set to be a Trump-level loser. Election truthers do what they can to take the security out of future elections.

David Waldman finally returns with an all-new, LIVE, KITM! Well, not exactly “live”. There’s network latency... and that auditory signal traveling from your ears to your brain… What really matters is that our live shows have Greg Dworkin cussing like a trooper on them. If you’re lucky, you still might get to hear a little on the above link!

So, what’s more offensive, several dozen f-bombs or a nurse chuckling as she listens to a boy describing his grandmother dying of COVIDAnti-maskers and anti-vaxxers laugh and rage, while everything rules-followers built crumbles. Sometimes, when a friend or relative dies, they think of changing, but that doesn’t happen half as often as it should. (Them thinking of changing, that is.) Florida isn’t even thinking about changing. Meanwhile, death panels convene in Idaho, where they will pick and choose who deserves to live. Jimmy Kimmel simplifies matters.

The same number of rural conservatives take veterinary drugs as those that make church casseroles from hog feed… Unfortunately, that’s probably a non-zero number.

There is a 1 in 5,000 chance of a breakthrough infection for a vaccinated person. In 24 states there is a 1 in 500 chance you are already dead. There is a 100% chance Covid medical bills are getting bigger. Should we kill a few more grandmas to make Joe Manchin happy?

Covid’s butterfly effect, along with millions dead world-wide, are causing tsunami-sized ripples in supply chains everywhere.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announces a plan to crack down on pre-crimes, to support banning what women do about their pre-embryos.

Cutting unemployment benefits makes no difference in job growth, and MAGA-types receive only temporary sexual gratification.

Afghanistan was botched, the media has determined after analyzing available data. They could consider it a bit more

Robert E. Lee surrendered, again, this morning in Virginia and this time was cut up into pieces. Filibusteros Steve Bannon and Jason Miller have fled into South America.

L’Shanah tovah! David Waldman is out rockin’ in the New Year and wasn’t available for a live KITM, but he was available to record an all-new KITM!

Lunatics just don’t just end up at town halls and school board meetings on their own. National conservative groups and donors rile them, fund them and weaponize them, because they have long understood local extremists lead to national power. While Democrats fight for the procedures, norms, and rules, Republicans understand that procedure, norms and rules are whatever those in power deem them to be. Steve KG Bannon knows that a perfect complexion and white rule are only one reality away, just a snap of the finger for enough voting precincts. On the other end of the power spectrum, 5 Supreme Court justices can make the future, or the past, whatever they say it is. In fact, they don’t even have to bother to say anything.

Back to 2012David Waldman broadcast LIVE from the 2012 Democratic National Convention with appearances by Armando, Greg Dworkin, former president Bill Clinton, Dave Grohl, and the Foo Fighters! Not all got air time, as the show was truncated to only one hour, but here is how David described it at the time:

Organized chaos this morning. That's the best description of the scene on the ground in Charlotte, as Armando & I made our way to the PPL, the blogger's home away from home during the convention, to kick things off with our abbreviated morning segment.

For chaos, things seemed to come out pretty well! We had Raven Brooks and Mary Rickles of Netroots Nation stop by for a few minutes, and they gave us a quick rundown on who's here, how many they expect, and what's in store for bloggers, new media and netroots types who choose to make the PPL their base. Be sure to check out the site, because they're streaming video from up in that place. And you know you love the video.

Greg Dworkin joined us for his regular segment, which was an accomplishment in itself. And our phone lines kinda-sorta worked, at least enough to get Bill in Portland Maine on "air" with us!

I managed to put together an all-new, pre-recorded show for today, but I’m not exactly at the top of my game now that it’s time for a show summary. But let’s wing it, anyhow.

First, a delivery on the hint from Monday (I believe) that there was some weird story floating around out there about a high school football game featured on ESPN over the past weekend. Er, well, here is that weird story.

You know what other story is weird? Lauren Boebert’s story. But there’s a new chapter. And while it definitely ain't right, it’s actually the least weird chapter she’s got.

In other news that slipped through the cracks, Trump lost a huge court case, again. Only this time, it’ll cost him—at long last—at least some of his tax records.

In Jan. 6th news, it sounds like the investigative committee thinks that just maybe, some of their House colleagues may have left a paper trail that’s worth having a look at. Or more specifically, a paper trail about their electronic trail. But, wait! Shouldn’t we wait five minutes for Kevin McCarthy to make the situation worse? Ah, nevermind. He’s just done it. Well, surely that’s the last of… oh, wait! We forgot about Andy Biggs!

Oh, and we also forgot about the terrible lawyers who have attached themselves to the case. Some (f not all) of them were hoping we’d do that.

In pandemic news, not all of the loony birds fighting mask mandates are Foghorn Leghorn types. The problem is, they’re everywhere. And worse, Bannon the Hutt (TW: Bannon’s face) is jumping out in front of their parade.

Want to find out stuff? Listen to today’s KITM with David Waldman and Greg Dworkin, your one-stop-shop for what you need to know:

Hurricane Ida has hit the New York area. Tornadoes headed through Maryland and down the NJ turnpike into Manhattan and the Bronx last night.

Rudy Giuliani’s Hope Hicks, Christianné Allen, isn’t doing it anymore, at least for Rudy. A Hooter’s representative is doing it now, probably with less enthusiasm for all involved.

Nurses and doctors on the front lines of fighting Covid will tell you vaccines are their most important tool. The largest study of masks yet show even surgical masks can make a difference. Actually, there are scads of tests, oodles of studies, and heaps of evidence supporting mask use. Of course, none of this will make one whit of difference to a moron. Joe Rogan got Covid and took all the cures with the exception of those Democratic vaccines. If Rogan doesn’t survive, perhaps he missed out on a new fix… maybe...

Snakes. You knew it’d have to be snakes sometime with this crowd. Liberty University has more COVID-19 cases than 4 larger Virginia campuses combined, so there might not be enough pit vipers to go around. If it means getting into a ball game, people will do whatever.

COVID outcomes in Florida and Connecticut show that leadership matters, but if leadership mattered in Texas or Florida, those places would be unrecognizable. California has spotted the recall con. Robert E. Lee goes down to defeat in Virginia.

Texas showed Republican political stunts are now to be taken seriously and literally, and the Supreme Court rules us all, for as long as we let them.

Hey, remember Afghanistan? Once people started to see that Joe Biden really was doing a good job there, the media lost interest. Republicans late to slap together their publicity antics sadly, quietly return to the US.

Remember Donald Trump? So does the Trump Organization's corporate director of security Matthew Calamari Jr., and he might be talking.

Soon you won’t be able to hire the National Guard to be your mercenary squad.

Yesterday, we traveled back in time for a little KITM, 2012-style. Today, David Waldman and Greg Dworkin can’t stop talking about those juiceboxes during the breaks.

Men were so sure this disaster would never happen, and shrugged off all the women who tried to sound alarms. Well, that could be just about anything, but often it is the loss of abortion rights. Again, Susan Collins was wrong, and Hillary Clinton was right, both for the millionth time. The Supreme Court didn’t have to do anything to overturn Roe, and that is exactly how they finally did it. The people who made this happen will never have a problem.

Barack Obama couldn’t control the weather as president, but he knew what to do about it, and for that we should be thankful. Similar expectations are being levied now against Joe Biden in Afghanistan. Joe isn’t promising miracles, just hard, honest, competent work. Honest people see that. Sane people too. Getting out of Afghanistan might be easier than staying out, eventually.

Joe and the Dems are becoming the tiniest bit disarrayed. Nancy and Chuck have got this.

The media will be the last know any of this, because they’re too busy watching each other to understand what is going on.

Meanwhile a Texas school district has shut down classes due to Covid outbreaks. It took a couple of teachers dying to get their attention. Perhaps Delta has peaked, but it sure wasn’t due to red states, because that isn’t part of their game plan. Sending kids back to school without a mask plays into that plan, also.

Peter Meijer says neither Joe Biden or the Pentagon tell the truth to the American people. Peter discovered this by lying to the American people.

Want to prevent another January 6th? Well, you could create more norms to violate. There are rules, then there are rules. David, through Ira Goldman, studies the procedural gambits that might be gambited.

Today’s broadcast arrives from the far distant past of August 31, 2012! A time so deep into antiquity it feels like an alien world. Americans lived in fear of the West Nile Virus, Donald Trump was a hasbeen, and there were still US troops stationed in Afghanistan. Strangest of all, Kagro in the Morning had commercials… and David Waldman… took callers. Don’t believe me? Just listen to the above link and you’ll understand why your vote should never be for Mitt Romney.

COVID, Afghanistan and Ida David Waldman and Greg Dworkin go there, figuratively, and we are right there with them:

Judges aren’t into Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis banning mask mandates. Some GQP goober, gubernatorial candidate in Pennsylvania, recently pledged to “make men, men again”, and also felons, in order to bring an end to people disagreeing with him on things, starting with mask mandates. He talks tough, but so did a lot of other anti-vax, anti-maskers at the beginning of this month, but you don’t hear much from them now. There are a lot of dumbasses still out there, for sure, but those dumbasses still deserve equal medical care, just not the same insurance rates.

The evacuation of Afghanistan is going well, at least as well as could be expected, in that anyone should expect it to go horribly, as much as Afghanistan is a horrible place to find oneself... The US will be judged on the last twenty years, but also this moment, and we are in charge of this moment.

At this moment we have hurricane Ida to deal with. We seem to be doing okay with an awful situation there as well, but of course at this moment the only direction to go is down.

Kevin McCarthy, Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz are among Donald Trump’s greatest acolytes, and as such are fully aware they will need to knife Donald in the back first, before he does it to them. You knew Jim Jordan would be first to crack, didn’t you

Don’t believe everything you read on Twitter. Newt Gingrich sometimes makes stuff up.

Will the fraudit come to Pennsylvania next? Why not — although fewer of our greatest legal minds might be available for this one.

Afghanistan still leads the news, following the bomb attacks at the Kabul airport. Republicans pledge to double the effectiveness of every terrorist attack by calling for Biden’s resignation, impeachment, or removal under the 25th Amendment. In the meantime, they’re also pretty sure they could just go in and “start killing bad guys.” Now, a normal person might take the time to ask themselves what kind of guys they’ve got over there, anyway. But not Republicans! Questions are for losers!

Speaking of bad Republican reactions to Afghanistan, have you heard the one about how the refugees just want a free ride out, and are gonna freeload off of the rest of us when they get here? I hope you haven’t, because it’s dumb.

The Supreme Court has been on a tear, lately. Today’s news from the Court includes action striking down the extended eviction moratorium. Landlords, you see, have been suffering. This despite $46.5 billion appropriated by Congress for plugging this gap.

Now, I know their name is No Labels, but I just can’t help it. I’m going to label them. And the label will read, “Bunch of jerks.”

Finally, I don’t know who was targeted here, but I suppose anything that makes you feel guilty about climate change is still a good thing.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin celebrate my birthday the best way they know how, with a brand-new Kagro in the Morning show:

US occupation of Afghanistan was a bad idea from the start, through the middle, and to the end. No matter how well Joe Biden does, it won’t change that. The news media isn’t interested in 20 year mistakes, however. It gets antsy without a daily disaster… Oh how lucky for them! The ad space and commercial time will sell itself today. Meanwhile, people still need to get out of there. 23 California students are among them. Hillary Clinton is working on it.

Greg finds compelling polling everywhere he looks. In Virginia, Dems are busting out all over. In California, the partisan breakdown of returned ballots can be compared between 2020 and 2021. In Germany, the SPD are pulling ahead of Angela Merkel’s CDU im sonntagsfrage bundestagswahl sendeaufruf wechselstimmung!

Voters swing less each election, but most of them in 2020 swung away from Trump.

No one would expect that FDA approval of COVID vaccines would ever cure stupid, and it hasn’t. Sturgis Motorcycle Rally attendees were warned that 2+2 equaled 4 two weeks ago and have picked up new math skills since. 15% of K-12 students in Mississippi have been quarantined, which equals 65,525 students. Florida thought their lesson was ending, but miscalculated. New York police didn’t take the job to follow the rules, although an Albany court won’t let God get you out of your responsibilities.

Democrats have 3 weeks to get their health spending together. The infrastructure/reconciliation bills are hurtling towards their impossible deadline (Which is OK) while Bernie Sanders girds up his loins and takes the battle to Manchin and Sinema.

The Secret Service told the Capitol Police there’d be trouble on January 6, but did they listen? We will find out that and more soon. John Burkman and Jacob Wohl are showing a real bad return on investment for whomever funds them.

Modern filibustero/scurvy dog, Steven Bannon wants to be there when Jair Bolsonaro overthrows Brazilian democracy. He’ll do it over Roger Stone’s dead body, maybe.

Happy birthday David Waldman! Happy birthday Armando! Happy birthday to me, tomorrow! Happy Wednesday Greg Dworkin! David is celebrating a portion of his birthday in his son’s orthodontist waiting room, and so had to take off early. Consequently, today’s KITM is only one hour long, but still packed with the info you need.

Who would have done a better job in Afghanistan than Joe Biden? Everybody, according to the only story reporters have seemed interested in telling. At long last, that quick and easy story is giving way to more nuanced reporting, filling in a bigger picture and revealing some quite amazing competence… but also incredible inhumanity, greed, and stupidity, which have always been part of our deal with Afghanistan.

Finally, FDA approval of COVID vaccines means unvaccinated people will eventually be required to think of different excuses to never, ever take a vaccine, or wear a mask or allow you or your kids to wear masks or be vaxxed.

What’s happening today?

Most of the fun and profit in the AZ Fraudit, at least for the fraudsters, is in the fraud part, so it is understandable why they would want to delay releasing their results as long as possible. Three of the the AZ Fraudit Cyber Ninjas (Collect all their action figures!) have delayed the process even further by throwing themselves under the nearest hospital ventilators.

That stuff in Afghanistan is still happening.

Anti-vax sheep prefer sheep medicine.

Rudy Giuliani left his toenail clippers in the last IHOP.

So, you think Republicans have it tough under Donald Trump? Democrats have somehow have found themselves under the thumb of Joe Lieberman... The No Labels/Problem Solvers coup for now has been fought to a standstill. The Asshole Nine, plus Two don’t see Biden’s, Schumer’s or Pelosi’s goals as “winning”. In fact, they don’t see “winning” as winning, and progress doesn’t interest them as much as seeing Nancy Pelosi sweat. David Waldman and Joan McCarter attempt to measure how many dollars, minutes, and clauses separate the factions.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin raise the curtain on our second week of our second decade of fine KITM news and entertainment:

Wildfires in the west, storms in the east. On average, you really can’t complain, except for all the COVID right there in the center, geysering out South Dakota, because of, or in addition to, that spread by the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Note that there are some solutions to this pandemic. Ivermectin is an example of a bad one, and the vaccines are examples of good ones. Your personal situation may call for you getting a third shot, while everybody's situation calls for you getting a first shot. For those who don’t believe this is a government plot to make spoons stick to noses, FDA approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine is great news.

Afghanistan is kind of a mess, which experts and journalists describe as “not their fault”, and probably a president’s fault. While some Republicans insist that it’s not too late to bomb Afghans back to the stone age, most Americans like us out, and know the difference between friends and enemies. Our performance in Afghanistan is improving, but makes lousy b-roll

In Washington, moderate Democrats turned out to be extreme assholes once that they found out how much Senators Sinema and Manchin got out of obstruction.

Congratulations go out to Matt Gaetz, who eloped with his sweet alibi to California this weekend. Matt is definitely marrying up. Donald Trump allowed Matt to get married for some odd reason. Donald remains an idiot, screwing up the future of Space Command so that he could score points with Rick&Bubba in Alabama. Both Donald and Mo Brooks discovered that their big lies might have become more powerful than they are, when the two were booed at this weekend’s rally.

Where will David Waldman take us today? Listen to today’s KITM, when he finds out with the rest of us!

Back to COVID. It never left, but it sure is coming backDelta’s dawning through mostly red states, mostly red Senators and mostly red Representatives, taking more than a few to that mansion in the sky. People shaming unvaccinated and unmasked are now being shamed, because many unmasked and unvaccinated aren’t that capable of shame.

Revolutionary Floyd Ray Roseberry demanded Joe Biden’s resignation and Medicaid for All, for him. He got none of the above, crawling out on his hands and knees, not a very proud boy. Floyd’s revolution ended up being televised on Facebook for hours before someone got bored and turned it off. Marjorie Traitor Greene’s performance-enhanced rage getting swole the day before might have inspired Roseberry, or perhaps it was whatever stuff Don Jr. pushes. We may never know… Oh, wait, Floyd is alive and white, so he’ll be hosting an OAN hour by the weekend. Check out Kyle Rittenhouse, who was treated as a mass-shooter for about 10 minutes before being lionized, followed by think pieces thinking a fuller picture of the man-boy was due. Now it’s out that when Kyle wasn’t shooting people, he kind of wished he was.

COVID sucks, and Greg Dworkin with David Waldman try to determine if this suckage will peak again soon. This time children are more involved, and that doesn’t just mean that more people are sick, but that a new range of stresses are being introduced to societal infrastructure just as kids go back to school. School boards in Florida are mandating masks, defying Governor Ron DeSantis’ authority. So is Joe Biden, who is preparing to take legal action, including deploying the Education Department’s civil rights enforcement arm, against DeSantis and other Govs blocking school masks. The GQP is losing the coronavirus mandate battle as red states lose the coronavirus infection battle and are beginning to get the picture on social responsibility.

Which brings us to the question of booster shots. Is it better to get boosters out to Americans, or first shots out to the rest of the world?

Most Americans are happy to get out of Afghanistan, and some are also glad to leave a lot of what they’d rather forget behind… such as the Afghans, for instance. We can do better.

A January 6 insurrectionist was just about to walk away with a misdemeanor, and he would’ve too, it it wasn’t for those meddlesome Sedition Hunters on the internet. Sedition hunting has become a fun and useful hobby for many, rewarding to the FBI, less productive for assholes.

It’s the KITM 10th Anniversary Show! Original KITM host David Waldman makes an appearance, along with his long-time guest, Greg Dworkin.

Just think, 10 years ago we were at the half-way point in our occupation of Afghanistan —  in retrospect an excellent time to begin planning our exit. As it turns out, just about everyone else’s preparations had been underway for a while in anticipation.

The Trump Bug Out had to happen, well before Trump, and Joe Biden was the guy to make it happen. The media rolling with the story fitting the most stock footage on hand was as predictable as them Googling where they were to stop their buck today. The people who were getting away with it are taking advantage of this moment to get away with it again. The first victims will be the future victims, as always.

As a result, Joe Biden’s approval numbers drop to… higher than Trump’s were anyhow.

In about a minute, Afghanistan will be moved far behind the furthest back burner once more as we address... (checks notes) …mask mandates! Non-morons remain in favor of them, btw. Has anyone tried slut-shaming the non-masked? It can’t be worse than what Republicans are trying. Everyone needs masks, vaccinated or not, as vaccines aren’t the shield they used to be. Greg Abbott is one of fifty governors vaccinated, and he’s got “it” again, right after a maskless Republican fundraiser. The asymptomatic Gov loaded up on Regeneron, the Republican go-to for avoiding embarrassing death in front of Democrats. The painful, expensive, inadequate, ineffective, unavailable, but not Democratic, alternative to vaccination.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Fraudit is to be delivered to the state Senate next Monday, hopefully containing enough evidence to put each of the counters away for a long time. Lunatic coup planner Jeffrey Clark should be impeached, indicted, incarcerated, and denied parole

Back in the real world, House Democrats are introducing a voting rights bill named for John Lewis. Nancy Pelosi plans to pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the budget plan at the same time, or thereabouts.

Who is the president of Afghanistan? Well, it’s not the guy it was last week, right? Don’t worry, there is an acting, interim, caretaking president keeping things going smooth over there, perhaps not so smooth over here.

How do we nice guys end up in situations like this so often?

David Waldman hoped to get away from such vexing questions for a couple of weeks in Costa Rica, when he confronted a not-yet-torn-down historical monument to his bête noire, the filibuster. No, not the parliamentary procedure, but the military term, or more precisely, those damn Filibusteros, who recruited, organized, and plotted raids through Mexico and Central America, under the unofficial auspices of the US.

The most filibusterous of them all, William Walker, hoped to conquer vast regions of Central America to establish new slave states. He succeeded in taking Nicaragua, making himself presidentre-instituting slavery, writing a book, and getting executed.

Then Joan McCarter called in and snapped us all back to present-day: Republicans gave Dems the finger and a declaration of non-cooperation on a debt ceiling vote. Unemployment benefits for 7 million are about to lapse, and no one in Washington is doing much about it now that Joe Manchin became disinterested. House Democrats also want to play Manchin and Sinema’s game, and who knows, maybe Nancy Pelosi will give them something.

David Waldman leaves Costa Rica, where the dogs and busses can roam free, back to KITM World HeadquartersGreg Dworkin and our hungry ears:

Who didn’t know that sending the US into Afghanistan wasn’t a mistake thousands of lives and trillions of dollars ago? The biggest mistake was ever believing we could do enough over there to make up for that first mistake, without ever correcting that first mistake. George W. Bush put us in Afghanistan, but everyone who left us in Afghanistan is about as awful. Joe Biden was right to call off this charade now. No matter how wrong he was, Donald Trump was right to call for withdrawal. Of course, Donald was too chicken and too self-centered to actually do it. Getting innocents out would be our second step in the right direction.

Everyone knows the correct actions to handle COVID-19, as well. Some are pretending not to, some are hiding from the truth, some are hiding the truth. Covid reporting and tracking is breaking down, while any numbers that are reported are fought overPediatric Covid-19 hospitalizations soar, while Ron DeSantis will sell Regeneron to any embarrassed conservatives faced with dying to own libs. Trump promised Regeneron for free. He was lying, but doesn’t that count?

Cori Bush wants to demilitarize the police, and needs body guards, for the same reason. Meanwhile Marjorie Traitor Greene has another suspension from Twitter, 5-6 more strikes and she’s out.

Happy Friday the 13th! Happy Non-reinstatement Day! Happy Last KITM before David Waldman returns from touring the tropics, and back to our KITM World Headquarters live broadcast studio/breakfast nook Day!

Today is our last day to head down memory lane!  So, do you recall what was going on over at Kagro in the Morning exactly 3 years ago? Well, if I remember correctly, it went something like…

His golf game rained out, Donald Trump stayed inside, motorboating motorcyclists, his very important contingent, and a prime example of those supporters Trump relies upon... as opposed to that wacky, vicious, low-life Omarosa, who Donald had to fire 3 times—plus another time he just found out about—because she, well, didn’t really “fit in” with the group. Now that Ja’Ron, he’s a good one. (Whatever his last name is.) There’s a certain level of loyalty and commitment expected in conservative quarters, you know... What about North Korea!

The great news: November keeps coming, and nobody can prevent that. David Waldman joins with Dr. Greg Dworkin (Ret.) (not yet) to round up pundits, and polls, without which we might think Trump is popular, and wouldn’t notice the big blue blizzard heading our way.

Losers might actually be losing for once. Trump calls to boycott Harley-Davidson, and Scott Walker ahead of Tuesday’s primary. Chris Collins suspends his reelection campaign, but he still needs to resign. New polls show Ted Cruz could really lose, once people meet Beto O’Rourke. IL-MN-MI-OH-IA-WI could go blue, and if not all of them, that’s still good. “Unite the Right” united a couple of dozen of “them”, and lots of “us”. Once upon a time, Richard M. Nixon was a popular president.

The America conservatives hate has always been the the one they’ve known and hated.

Are you still sure there’s no need to worry? It’s not just Kobach: Three vote-suppressing Secretaries of State are overseeing their own elections in 2018.

A fourth federal judge, this time a Trump appointee, has rejected a challenge to special counsel Robert Mueller's appointment. Donald is not good at getting stuff done or whatever. Is Space Force the Trump Steaks of his presidency so far? Devin Nunes does his part, by tampering with witnesses in Azerbaijan.

David Waldman just has a couple of loose ends to tie up in Costa Rica, but in just a few days will return to KITM World Headquarters for a LIVE show!

In the meantime, do you remember how Donald Trump sucked as a president, even before COVID? Let’s reminisce with this KITM from the summer of 2019:

Greg Dworkin ascended Mount Denali, descending a fortnight later to confront wickedness and depravity, and bearing polling of all sortsDavid Waldman, and we, rejoice:

It’s hard to find any stiff-necks in Iowa, no matter how hard the press tries. The Suburbs are fleeing Donald Trump, but where are they going? Moderate Dems might be the ones to watch in 2020.

Child solicitor Jeffrey Epstein didn’t quite make it to trial, surprising probably no one more than Jeffrey Epstein... in fact, Russian Bots and the President seem to have had it figured out before Jeff’s body hit the floor. William Barr has reached Susan Collins levels of concern over the irregularities. Prosecutors vow to continue their investigation into the inner workings of Epstein’s criminal organization, once they finish their investigation into the inner workings of Epstein.

Gun culture and wellness culture offer their followers “empowering epistemology”. The El Paso killer quoted the gospel chapter and verse.

Donald Trump is a racist. Cruelty remains the point, although corporations have leveraged extra benefits. Why haven’t Trump companies been raided, other than the very, very obvious reasons?

What is the opposite of diplomacyDomination? Sanity?

Donald hears the pitter patter of little feet, exiting the White House.

Even the best evil megalomaniacs have setbacks attempting world domination, as Russia’s hypersonic cruise missile prototype makes just a little tiny little Chernobyl over the White Sea.

David Waldman had a plan to commune with the locally abundantequatorial adjacent, flora and fauna while on vacation —  until the moment he found that bug in his hotel room... Well, you sort of had to be there. The point is, David is not here to describe the most recent threats endangering us, so we put together several Mini-KITMs… which have run out

We have another idea. Plan C is to finish out the week reviewing past KITMs. Today, one year ago, Thursday, two years, and Friday three years ago! And now, KITM presents last year, when many were worried about a “pandemic” and Trump was worried about TikTok:

How can you top yesterday’s KITM, with both Armando and Greg Dworkin as guests? Well, you can’t. However, it is always possible that David Waldman did! Hit the link above, and see if he pulled it off.

Winter is coming, and windows will begin to close, including America’s window of opportunity to beat back Covid-19... and, those windows on those schools we’re now herding our children into. 800 more students went into quarantine in Georgia. Guam’s governor tested positive for coronavirus. Most Americans won’t be able to get a coronavirus vaccine until well into 2021. Vladimir Putin claims that Russia has the world’s first approved COVID-19 vaccine, although it will need to be administered by a needle hidden in the tip of a nurse’s shoe.

Yesterday, some reporter made the mistake of asking Donald Trump a questionMockery thus ensuedjustifications were rationalized, and in the morning the cycle begins again. Each day, White House staff build Potemkin villages around Donald Trump. Governor Kristi Noem even createdSpinal Tap-scaled Mount Rushmore for her villageAmerican contractors knew 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate were stored in a Beirut warehouse, and many people know how that can turn out, and yet Trump said it was “a bomb”… and then drug some of our great generals into it. Defense Secretary Mark Esper didn’t realize he was on the wrong side of the Potemkin walls until it was pointed out to him.

Is TikTok’s… time running out? Well, Donald Trump says he thinks that app’s hot, and when Donald likes what he sees, that’s never a good sign. Trump wants some “key money”, or he will simply just destroy the company. Meanwhile, as per usual mob protocol, Trump’s lawyers will be challenging any subpoenas coming their way.

The stock market doesn't reflect Americans' pain. It certainly does not reflect Ivanka Trump’s pain, who made about 4 million in one year from the Trump DC hotel, and still felt the need to request severance pay.

Mandamus: It’s not just a river in New Zealand. It’s also a deeply concerning and misguided D.C. Circuit ruling in the Michael Flynn Case.

David Waldman, ensconced in the Costa Rican primeval, hidden amidst the elusive jaguar and agouti, remains unavailable for live broadcast. David did record several all-new snack-size KITMs for us... although this one is more or less the other half of yesterday’s Twix® on Pegasus, the spyware developed by the private Israel-based NSO Group to be sold and marketed only to good guys, never bad guys.

It is easy to tell the “good guys” around the UAE, as that is usually defined via heredity. Just ask Jamal Khashoggi… or at least, his wife, and his fiancé, whose phones were hacked with Pegasus software just prior to and following Khashoggi’s personal hacking in Istanbul.  Then there was Princess Haya Bint al Hussein, and Princess Latifa bint Mohammed al-Maktoum of Dubai, both considered naughty girls by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The fleeing Princesses were hunted down all over the world with the aid of Pegasus, and probably the helpful folks at the FBI.

I bought tires two weeks ago. To this day, my browsers and apps all still vie to sell me tires. Can’t anyone monitor me more intelligently?

(David Waldman, still somewhere holding a coconut with a straw and little umbrella, remains unavailable for live broadcasts. He has however, assembled several all-new Mini-KITMs, of which this is #6.)

The Israeli surveillance company NSO Group  sure knows how to monitor people. Just about everybody on the internet uses end-to-end encryption to guard our privacy, frustrating those who don’t prefer our privacy. NSO developed a way around all that, so simple that you don’t even have to click a thing before it is busy uploading your photos and videos, recordings, location records, communications, web searches, passwords, call logs and social media posts — in real time!

Hey, before you say anything, NSO exclusively supplies this program to only the most responsible governments around the world. Supplying spyware to criminals, terrorists, or governments that do not have people’s best interests at heart would be like selling them “weapons”. It just isn’t done. Except for the 50,000 politicians, judges, lawyers, teachers… 10 prime ministers, three presidents and a king that were infected, of course.

David Waldman is still out, continuing his tour of our KITM Jungle Lair facilities, but before David departed he managed to record a series of all-new Mini-KITM episodes!

This one is more of a “Midi-KITM episode, as it goes down quite a deep rabbit hole. Food injustice is as American as apple pie, which we imported with slavery, genocide, capitalist subjugation, union busting, tipping and cowboys. It’s also as American as Bill Gates, America’s top farmland owner. Bill could be buying up hundreds of thousands of acres of prime farmland in order to save the world, or in order to make billions of more dollars...

David Waldman, possibly in Costa Rica to observe Annexation of Guanacaste Day (Orthodox), continues to be far away from the KITM microphone today —  but never our hearts — and ears, posting this brand-new Mini-KITM!

Donald Trump remains a goldmine of morality plays and cautionary talesCarol Leonnig and Philip Rucker discovered this the very, very hard way, enduring an hours-long interview recounted in their new book I Alone Can Fix It. Is Trump delusional or lying? That line has been blurred, according to David and Vanity Fair, but it remains clear how dangerous Trump is.

David Waldman is off in Costa Rica today. Pick up a plate of beans and rice, or some rice with beans… or some beans, with beans, beans, and rice… or a handful of pork rinds with us, and enjoy our little KITM empanada:

From a distance, QAnon believers just seem to be silly dummies to be laughed at and eventually ignored. Unfortunately, some Q-nuts are kind of dangerous, and a few of them are really dangerous. The saddest thing, however, is how QAnon addiction destroys families and relationships by warping the best of intentions into grinding abuse, while arming seasoned abusers with new, grimly effective tools of torture.

David Waldman continues to serve up brand-new pre-recorded KITM snacks while he’s out becoming one with nature.

Today, it is time we try to get a handle on Kyrsten Sinema, the fervent, steadfast Libertarian. Green Party member. Democrat. What’s next for Krysten? Well, it won’t take a political scientist or psychologist to predict this career path.

Now, for a limited time only, David Waldman will be passing out these all-new KITM Fun-Size treats! Just the right size for summer and back-to-school season (as well as filling in the time slot) while I assume, David zip-lines over waterfalls and sloths

The walls are always closing in on Donald Trump. One of those times was just ahead of January 6, when Trump was leaning on acting attorney general, Jeffrey Rosen, to help him overthrow democracy. Justice Department official Richard Donoghue ended up taking notes on those meetings, which were given to Congress last Wednesday and released to the public on Friday.

According to the notes, Rosen told Trump that the Justice Department "can’t + won’t snap its fingers + change the outcome of the election." Donald pretended to understand and replied, "just say the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen." This felt a little coup-y to the sane people in the room. Trump, sensing this, then plotted to replace Rosen with an new acting toady, Jeffrey Clark.

In an unexpected move, Donald Trump has assured everyone that while everything he says and does seems criminal and vile on the surface (and also deep-down) in actuality, all is always the opposite, always.

The lies won’t end soon. Too much money in it. Trump’s Big Lie raised $100 million for him so far.

David Waldman delivers his KITM Hiatus Eve special, but he’ll be back —  on Monday! — with new recorded shows!

This is about the point in a science fiction film when the protagonist damns us all to hell for ruining things forever.

We were this close… but now we have the Delta variant, a cool name for a sequel, but a pretty horrific disease. Republicans, who usually only understand other’s problems when it happens to them, are having it happen to them. Unfortunately all that they seem to understand this time is that there is “a problem”, because it is happening to them. So now we have Republican selfie riots in the Capitol, and it is back to blue states and Democrats to the rescue, again. Red states, on the other hand, hope increasing ignorance and inattention will save the the day. Somehow, the UK has a handle on things, although no one can quite explain how.

Republicans also prefer their delusions over any testimony on the January 6 insurrection. This could be an issue for them when they are called to testify on their delusions. Donald Trump says the cops who spoke to Congress are pussies, so it might be interesting to hear his thoughts, under oath. Merrick Garland won’t defend Mo Brooks, but should do more.  First things first, as the attorney general for the District of Columbia continues investigating the 2017 inauguration committee. The Arizona Senate liaison, Ken Bennett, resigned, and then didn’t.

For we were podcast-less —  and on this day, David Waldman podcasted unto us, and verily, greet we also Greg Dworkin, bearing his Thursday Raft of Trueth™:

Which sign of the apocalypse is Mike Lindell? Probably one of the last ones. Marjorie Traitor Greene promotes her unending self-stewardship drive. A Muslim-free gun range closed in Oklahoma, caps-locked to the end.

Coronavirus continues to plague the US, particularly in heavily moronic areas. This is concerning to the GQP, as their constituents, indeed most of them, are morons. The Capitol Police are expected to arrest maskless morons soon. Thomas Massie and Chip Roy believe they have more morons than the cops can handle, but many might be just pretending to be morons to keep up their Republican bona fides. Charlie Kirk continues to fight for COVID deaths, even after the timely loss of his TPUSA co-founder. Do morons promote racism, or visa-versa?

COVID Aid programs are spurring a (temporary) record drop in poverty. Red states are eager to see things back to normal.  Meanwhile, something’s going well in the UK, but nobody’s sure why.

Steve Bannon knew what was coming on January 6.  Mo Brooks knew. Jim Banks... just found out? Andrew Clyde is certain that he will never know, and you can't make him. The Fraternal Order of Police is suddenly quiet.

Chuck Schumer and the G10 have arrayed all 50 Senate Democrats, just like that, and the infrastructure bill moves forward, right over the former guy.

Donald Trump endorsed indicted incumbent Ken Paxton over that one Bush for Texas AG, because, really, who likes an ass-kisser? Donald, of course. But with so many to choose from… Mitch McConnell is getting sick of winning.

David Waldman and Greg Dworkin continue the KITM countdown to hiatus. What will happen Monday? Who knows! Why are you asking me? Let’s focus on the moment, today:

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is out with the “twisties”, which is a bit like the “yips”, but while hurtling towards the ground. For those with neither talent nor discipline, either term might be difficult to understand.

Republicans are losing the Trump touch, unable to inject enough chaos into the opening day of the January 6 committee hearings, which even Fox News covered uninterrupted. Marjorie Traitor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Louie Gohmert, and Paul Gosar were hoisted with their own petard of citizen journalists “just asking them questions”. Thus, Capitol police officers were allowed to take us to hell and back with them in yesterday’s testimonials.

Being relieved of GQP clowning enables the Select Committee to truly investigate, and journalists the freedom to correctly report. Andrew Clyde was forced to address his “normal tourist visit” statement. Jim Jordan might eventually have to address his January 6 conversation with Trump. We might even find out what “Blue Lives Matter” really means. Armando reminds us that the faster we get these answers, the better. Things are moving a little too fast for Mo Brooks, who can’t catch a break from his justice department lawsuit for inciting insurrection, which should be covered by more than tort law. The DOJ says former Trump officials can testify about January 6. Retired general Russel Honoré can tell you what he saw

Nothing beats getting vaccinated, but even then it is time to put the masks back on. One of the greatest challenges we now face, is of course, morons. Florida has a surplus of morons, and now a surge in COVID. Texas Republican Chip Roy has a few questions he’d like to scream at Anthony Fauci. Kentucky’s Thomas Massie will sue over his mask fine, or at least sue over his several misconceptions about it. Mitch McConnell is many things, but a moron is not one of them.

Let’s join David Waldman in making the most of today’s show, shall we?

California will require state employees to get vaccinated, and so will New York. If you are anywhere not vaccinated, you shouldn’t go in a bar or restaurant. (And, you should get vaccinated.) About a million rugged individualistic ovine bikers are herding into Sturgis, South Dakota next week.

Simone Biles withdrew from the Olympic team gymnastic finals, opening the way for a Russian gold medal. Donald Trump and Megyn Kelly open a bottle of champagne.

Kristen Sinema, who has no values, does have a mutual attachment with No Labels, who are the Members Only of political organizations, still around for no apparent reason.  Reverends Jesse Jackson and William Barber, along with 37 others with values, were arrested protesting in Sinema’s office yesterday.

A bipartisan commission is finally looking into what happened at the Capitol on January 6. Republicans know it’s time to pull the cords on the rhetorical dynamite strapped to their chests, while plotting revenge on the disloyal. Last night they lit the fuse on a privileged resolution to demand that Nancy Pelosi seat all of Kevin McCarthy’s selections to the committee, which quickly fizzled and went out. Finally, we can hear descriptions of all that PDA put on the record.

Arizona Senate liaison Ken Bennett can liaise all he wants, but no one’s letting him attend to the fraudit anymore. The Pennsylvania GQP wants some of that old Trump chaos over in their state. The people worried that Anthony Fauci might have been Red Chinese the last 40 years, bought themselves a brand new Chinese Freedom Phone.

The Dixie fire, Bootleg fire, Crater Ridge fire, and many, many others pump smoke and ash across the country as climate change plays out before our eyesJoan McCarter has more than one reason to mask up. Meanwhile, it’s still infrastructure week. Republicans understand that if anything goes well for anyone ever, and it’s not Donald Trump, then it’s a Democratic win, and that just can’t happen. Now would be a very good time for Schumer and Pelosi to cancel August recess.

It’s almost August, and as QAnon and Mr. Pillow tell us, Donald Trump is returning to the presidencyDavid Waldman will be out of the country for the next couple of weeks.

Don’t worry, David won’t be gone forever. Unfortunately, neither will Trump. Trump is lonely, old and wants attention, like his followers. Trump is perpetually entitled and victimized, like his followers. Trump is a sociopathic, parasitic grifter. His followers could only wish. Some do have some successful grifts occasionally, but most just can’t catch a break.

Nancy Pelosi will add Republican Adam Kinzinger to the January 6 investigation, which was already bipartisan with Liz Cheney, but now is twice as much. Kevin McCarthy continues his snit, and will also continue to lose.

Greg Dworkin isn’t here to shame or disrespect anyone for not being vaccinated yet, but even his patience can wear thin. Vaccinations are inching up, but the Delta variant has changed the rules.  Asymptomatic carriers are multiplying, breakthrough cases are increasing, super-spreader events are scheduled, and winter is coming.

Remember when Politico vindicated Ron DeSantis? They’ll probably regret that.

Add right-wing radio host Phil Valentine to the rapidly growing list of vaccine regretters, who woulda shoulda coulda got vaccinated. “Unvaccinateddoesn’t necessarily mean that they “refused” to get a vaccination, just as those folks that must require the vaccine to have FDA approval aren’t necessarily the same folks who believe this is all a federal plot to force them… but they probably are. Either way, they need to take the vaccine.

Wednesday felt like Saturday. Thursday felt like Friday. David Waldman assures us, Today is what you make it. (It’s Friday.)

Ted Cruz gave us his guarantee a year ago. Today, he is guaranteed to be 100% Ted Cruz. Joe Biden promised Republicans were going to shape up when Donald Trump left. The problem is, Donald Trump never left and never will.

Constitutional sheriffs and sovereign citizens deserve each other and should move to Gimmetaria together. A Michigan sheriff following the wisdom of Mr. Pillow, Mike Lindell, has taxpayers paying for an investigation into a Trump county whose entire population is less than half of Biden’s state margin. A reporter tried to plumb the depths of Trump supporters’ gullibility and stupidity, and discovered there is no bottom. It is hilarious, even as we die laughing.

Michael Cohen believes Jared Kushner will be hiding a bit deeper in Mohammed bin Salman’s pocket once word gets out that he flipped on Trump.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse discovered that the FBI’s “supplemental investigation” on Brett Kavanaugh was as interested in collecting tips on Brett as the National Enquirer was interested in collecting tips on Donald Trump. In fact, both sets of data and all the cheeseberders seemed to go through Donald in this time period. Oh well, what can be done now? Joan McCarter has a few ideas.

Armando knows that once we agree on the Constitution, the rest is easy. A Democratic bill would only allow elected House members to serve as speaker. House Republicans want Kevin McCarthy to throw out Nancy Pelosi. How long can this go on?

Don’t believe everything you hear! Believe David Waldman, who will set you straight on the best fried chicken served by 18th century reenactors in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Ohio’s Barberton Chicken, on the other hand, is an acquired taste. (Although a pretty good taste to acquire.)

Nancy Pelosi booted Jim Banks (Some Republican) and Jim Jordan (Everybody knows him) from the January 6 select committee because “The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision”. In other words, it is because they were complicit with an attempted overthrow of the US, and are continuing to assist in the coverup. “Unprecedented” must be a GQP problem-word, probably as they’re still sore from being unpresidented last November. Following Pelosi, Kevin McCarthy immediately unleashed the snit he clearly prepared in advance and now won’t invite any Democrats to his club. Chris Cillizza completely missed the point and blamed Nancy Pelosi for dooming democracy again, just like she did on the bipartisan 1/6 commission.

More than 30 former top Senate Democratic aides called for changes to the filibuster rules, so that should do it.  The Supreme Court doesn’t even pretend that they aren’t in charge anymore.
