Kagro in the Morning

Feb 27, 2019

Hey, hey! Over here! Sure, history is happening as you read this, but really, you should pause it just for a minute, maybe 118 or so, and check out today’s KITMDavid WaldmanGreg Dworkin, and Joan McCarter offer a primer for today’s events that will help you better appreciate the intricacies and asininities of the day:

Plenty of bombshells were already dropped in Michael Cohen’s written opening statement. House Democrats make sure everybody has a chance at bat. BuzzFeed says they told you so. Donald Trump shouldn’t have to remind people to lie, that’s expected. Will you believe Donald, or his lying signatures? Matt Gaetz tested everyone’s patience, as well as the legal system, then ran off to hide... sort of… ok, not really. Was Gaetz delivering a message from Trump, or was he “just saying”?

Not to say the President’s a putz or anything, but a third portrait of The Donald shows up, paid for with charity money. Not to say that Donald Trump has a mental disorder, but George Conway thinks you should read up on sociopathy, just in case. Oh, and Donald and his friend hate it when you yell, so shut up and go away.

Michael Cohen’s testimony isn’t the only thing happening in DC. House members will tear themselves away to take up two gun safety bills this week. U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal is introducing a Medicare-for-All bill that would create a government-funded, single-payer health-care system to cover every person in the United States. Mitch McConnell is set to launch just a lil’ nuke into the Senate to get even more judges through while they still can. Mitch says that if Democrats only had let Republicans block votes, they wouldn’t have had to steal them.

Chief Justice John Roberts sides with the liberals in a death penalty case, and might be looking toward his legacy.

Mark Harris won’t try to re-cheat his way to congress in North Carolina. Who could possibly replace him? Always dress for the job you want.
