Kagro in the Morning

Jul 26, 2023

Greg Dworkin has a theme today, but it wasn’t UFO-mania, or even Rudy Colludy’s confession. Seems the Ron DeSantis campaing is sinking like a stone. Staff are being cut (some more pointedly than others), plagued by an horrific burn rate, terrible polls, and of course, his latest “education” disaster (which, thank God, even some conservatives find appalling) all combined to leave “DeSantis in Disarray.”

In other good news, apparently there were eight subpoenas served in TFG’s Perv-a-Lago documents case. Even better, the youngs are smart and have their heads screwed on right.

Tommy Tuberville is a jerk for many, many reasons. But there’s at least one new one that Glenn Kessler thinks is important enough to call him out about, but refuses (for some strange reason) to invoke the “dreaded” Pinocchio count for.

We headed back to Ohio for more on their convoluted ballot initiative battle. Depending on who you are, Ohio’s Gop either desperately wants you to believe the August vote is about abortion and nothing else, or alternatively, not about abortion at all, thank you very much.

And speaking of heading back, we pulled a procedural U-turn to revisit our own wild speculation about the effect of a government shutdown on the lunatic Gop’s impeachment plans. Where does the Judiciary’s funding come from? And what happens if it’s still unfunded when they want the Chief Justice to show up?
