David Waldman returns from college shopping potentially much poorer, albeit wiser as well. The good news is, David has plenty of wisdom to share with us today:
In gun/tattoo culture news, guns win out when a Kentucky teen used money his mom gave him for a tattoo to buy an AR-15 to shoot up his school, and probably a few people too. Are you a deplorable, but not certain everyone knows it? Why not wear a t-shirt rather than a gun while grocery shopping? Guns can get ouchy at the store. In Maryland, the NRA narrative of the Good Guy with a Gun was disrupted by the reality of the Ex-boyfriend with Suicidal Tendencies.
Greg Dworkin reports on the Stormy conditions throughout last weekend, predicting sunny skies heading into November. Pennsylvania Rep. Ryan Costello is tired from walking against Donald Trump’s headwinds. Voters like high school gun protesters; don’t like the NRA ; like Trump less and less, especially in the suburbs. Everyone is catching on to the Gop pattern of abuse, not just the kids.
Joan McCarter reports on the wave of ‘90’s nostalgia sweeping across DC. That is, for the Balanced Budget Amendment, not all that prudish nonsense. Also, this administration hasn’t got a clue on how to govern badly, or even at all. Donald knew only an idiot would sign the Omnibus Bill, the only smart thing would be “doing the veto”, so he signed it… after he wandered off and someone retrieved him. Oh, and Paul Ryan’s still here, so there’s that.
