Kagro in the Morning

Feb 28, 2019

The Cohen hearing was such a big deal yesterday, we had to give over almost the whole show for the hot takes on it today. There was the one about Republican sinking even further into Trump’s “cesspool.” The one about how Republicans didn’t even bother to dispute claims about what a slug Trump is. And the one about how Trump was going to drag them all to hell with him.

Greg Dworkin also brought us a collection of the best/worst moments from the hearing, which were often the same ones. There was the One Black Friend. A ritual bus-tossing. Some astonishingly nonsensical accusations from Republicans. An incidental accusation that Roger Stone might have violated his gag order, along with a more measured guess that he did not. And some encouraging performances from the new kids.

How did it all go? Well, Reuters decided it was time to run a plain, matter-of-fact impeachment primer.

Meanwhile, Dotard J. Trump actually skipped lunch on his way out of Hanoi. But all they were serving was nothingberders, anyway. Though to no one’s surprise, Matt Gaetz couldn’t get enough.

In other news, Paul LePage is still disgusting. Texas may be up for grabs in 2020, and yet another Dem is staffing up for it. Impatience grows over Trump’s tax returns. (And we learn about franking along the way.) Yet another Attorney General wants in on investigating the most corrupt inaugural committee ever. While another wants out with the committer of the most corrupt in Israel.
