Evil won again in the Senate. What can you do, but keep fighting? You’re probably thinking “Darn that filibuster! Hasn’t someone noted its misuse over these years and come up with some workaround?” If you are thinking that... you probably haven’t had a chance to hear any “second hour” of any KITM before. David Waldman is ready (in KITM’s second hour, of course) to relate Senate parliamentary procedure to yesterday’s events and possible strategies going forward, again. David tries to fill in the details around Chuck Schumer’s plan to make filibusters talk again and filibuster-ers work again.
But first, Greg Dworkin called in to talk about the potential of a Russian invasion into Ukraine while it still remains a “potential invasion”. The UK and maybe even Canada expect a little skirmish or two this weekend. Then there’s the overthrow of the United States by fascist forces, which unfortunately is still ongoing, and not just by the little nutcases, but from the big nutcase all the way down. The Supreme Court voted 8 to Clarence Thomas’ wife to allow Donald Trump’s records to go to the January 6 committee. Brett Kavanaugh adjured Donald to be just a tiny bit smarter.
Meanwhile, President Joe is doing just fine, it’s just that it’s too hard for the media to come up with a headline for that.
