It’s Fourth of July week here at KITM, when each day feels as if it is just before, or after, Sunday… At least it’s a day with David Waldman and Greg Dworkin in it!
What day is it in England? A lot is happening over in Britain lately, and a lot of it is happening to Boris Johnson. Officials are either demanding that Johnson resign or are resigning because of Johnson.
Over here, people who voted for President Joe Biden wonder why he hasn’t fixed it all yet. Once every four years (sometimes even more!) they vote Democratic, and yet everything they want hasn’t happened! Why aren’t youngsters inspired yet? Perhaps we aren’t yelling at pollsters loudly enough.
In contrast, Republicans like Doug Mastriano plan to first seize all control, and then get all that they want. The Trump Supreme Court didn’t just appear out of thoughts and prayers you know, and now Democrats are headed for a disaster with unfilled judicial vacancies unless they start bypassing the traditions, norms and blue slips standing in their way. A major question left unanswered is what qualifies as a “major question”? Also, how gimmetarian is the “independent state legislature” theory, and would that really matter to a gimmetarian?
A grand jury in Georgia issued subpoenas for Rudy Giuliani and the Colludey Gang, including Senator Lindsey Graham, and you can bet that Lindsey will be shaking his Senate immunity with all he’s got. Of course, Trump’s Bunco Brigade is making money off of all this. Donald Trump, however, may have a tougher time achieving his second or third presidential term with all the heat nosing about. The January 6 Committee is still out there doing God’s work, and the next installment will be connecting the dots between Donald and several extremist groups.
Murdery Traitor Greene has too many red flags to get into any extremist group but could probably buy an AR in Illinois. The Highland Park shooter considered being the Madison, Wisconsin shooter as well. His parents, in lieu of actual parenting, offer their thoughts and prayers.
Whew! At least the COVID-19 pandemic is over! Except for subvariants BA.4 and BA.5, which are the most contagious yet, and are coming to California.
