Kagro in the Morning - July 29, 2015

RIP Cecil.  And Tom Brady’s phone.

Taliban Leader Mullah Omar still dead.

Donald Trump loved by Hispanics! Trump rockets!  Hillary wounded! (Not “factually”.)

Facts also intrude on Obamacare narrative.

Joan McCarter, the classiest.

What about Cheesesteak?  Good and bad political Fair Food.

Boehner wins - House set to pass highway bill.

The Cruz Rebellion.  The Boehner Coup.  Oklahoma keeps it classy.

Greg Dworkin rounds up the headlines. Trump is as Trump does. And, if the GOP doesn’t like that and wants to be very foolish.... Just because the majority has an opinion, does that mean they will vote that way? Or will they stick with their America? Sandra Bland: Assessing the legality of her arrest. Are the police issuing you a lawful order, or an order under color of law? Officer has to explain his son playing cop. Update on when playing cop leads to tragedy.

Money makes the world go ‘round. So, if you have some, think about how you can help. (And remember to scroll down to find those donation buttons, where necessary!) Greg Dworkin reminds lawmakers going on break that the public is for the Iran Deal, but even the GOP is split on immigration. Is there enough room in the clown car for another? Can he be a contender? Sandra Bland’s death is being treated like a murder investigation. Did Sanders and O’Malley fail the test? What can Bernie do now? Hillary Clinton needs to earn the Black Vote. Is the GOP just Trump-Trumpity-Trump? And for how long?

Kagro in the Morning - July 20, 2015

Greg Dworkin takes a look at the GOP today, which is Trump, no matter who says different.  Other candidates stick it out, because they’d be idiots not to. The Democrats can win the Iran Debate, and many other debates too.

A review of Netroots Nation 15.  Which has many points of view, but could always use better listeners.

And a note from Scott Anderson, because I didn't say anything: Anniversary of the Women's Rights Convention!

Greg Dworkin introduces us to the newest GOP soap opera. Trump is #1! But why? Is it "respect"? Not a lot of GOP respect from Latinos, though.

Minorities and young stick with Obama. If Hillary's terrible luck holds out, she'll end up president.

A guy thinks gluing a gun to someone's hand would be provocative.

Kagro in the Morning - July 16, 2015

In today's news: a handful of wacky Oklahomans greet the president with Confederate flags; by our #GunFAIL count, a 3-year-old Kansas City girl is the 49th child under 15 accidentally shot to death this year, the 250th child accidentally shot overall, and the 450th to accidentally shoot themselves. Greg Dworkin rounds up still more Pluto news, Bernie polling, the president's Iran presser, and procedure for the deal going forward. Big government haters' favorite university lives, indirectly, on big government money. LePage's veto gambit explained. That flag will cause more problems in Congress. Anybody can get outflanked and be called a sellout, if you're annoying enough.

Greg Dworkin read the news today, so we let him tell us what's going on. Did lawmakers adjourn or recess in Maine? LePage saga refuses to sine die. For the first time in 35 years, diplomatic relationship renewed with Iran. Some rejoice, some do not. The GOP has no frontrunner. Hillary addresses the Gig Economy. Pluto photobombs empty space. The British finally address their slavery problem, and solution. And, is George Will the canary in the coal mine? (Not that he'd ever work in a coal mine, mind you.)

David starts out with best news first: Bloom County Returns!  Who do we thank for that?

Greg Dworkin also talks Trump. Is his candidacy just his grift, or can others join in? Greece acquiesces, what are the parallels between the EU sessions and the P5+1 Iran talks?

How is health care coverage changing lives?

By the way, it's Jade Helm time! But if the world does not end who to vote for?

Arliss Bunny returns to follow up last week’s Greece economic analysis with a thorough post-deal examination. What’s next? Is Greece losing its sovereignty?

And, is it time for the North to reconsider its role in the Civil War?  The British are revealing their history of slave ownership.

Kagro In The Morning is back on the air! Could it be same culprit that took down NYSE, UA, WSJ & KITM? Connect the dots! Follow the money! Actually, the money can come from you, help support that which benefits you the most! Will Bernie or Hillary benefit you the most? Can David persuade you to pick your politicians pragmatically? The confederate flag comes down - Yay! (Not everyone is happy.)

P.S., a note about the third person reference: Thanks to Scott Anderson for taking on the task of crafting these show summaries, and creating shorter clips of our guests' appearances that you'll be seeing more of in the future!

Technical difficulties kept us off the live "air" today, but we dove in anyway, with Greg Dworkin helping us cover the Jeb! economic plan and how nonsensical it really is. More on Greece. Trumpmentum & the polls. Scott Walker's collapse. Unsurprisingly, media types aren't Feeling the Bern. Aaron Schock shamed into yet another globetrotting vacay. As SC House relents on the flag, the US House moves, reverses & reverses again. Clinton vs. Benghazi nuts on subpoenas. Two shot in Nashville, but TN gun nuts actually hold out against criminalizing celebratory gunfire!

Kagro in the Morning - July 8, 2015

Is the sky falling? Blowing up? Going Galt? David’s guests urge us to calm down. Greg Dworkin discusses Dave Weigel’s recent article on Rand Paul’s Maharishi Effect. Should progressives be for Hillary or Bernie or Policy? The hole in Paul LePage’s pocket. The Confederate flag as a political issue, and gun safety as a public safety issue. And is China, Greece and the rest of the world in financial free fall, or not? David wonders if the shooting in San Francisco is a #gunfail or something else. Joan McCarter urges us to cheer up and be thankful for last week, although more trouble for Obamacare is heading our way, and more trouble for our infrastructure, and more trouble for our country’s finances. Arliss Bunny returns to suggest that we just take a couple deep breaths and relax about this China thing.

Greece still very much an issue today. Greg Dworkin follows up yesterday's discussion with a look at the "power players" in the situation. SC Senate votes on the Confederate flag today. Republicans are still backwards. The much-discussed "unwritten rules for covering Hillary." Jared the Subway guy raided by feds. Bristol Palin, gimmetarian. Gideon has questions about the Sanders candidacy. Arliss Bunny joins us again for a run-down on who the players are in the Greek drama & what some of their motivations might be.

KITM salutes the great city of Madison, Wisconsin! Greg Dworkin comes on to talk of the history of the Confederate flag. Will history repeat itself with the latest Democratic momentum? Is the GOP on the wrong side of history again? Or is Hillary on the wrong side of history? What are the polls saying? Overwhelmed by the depth and breadth of the mistakes in the US media coverage of Greece’s economic troubles and solutions proposed, Arliss Bunny calls in, comprehensively setting the record straight. One more open carry disaster, in an Austin, TX hotel. Could've been a good guy with a gun, though, until his bullets started entering people.

Kagro in the Morning - July 2, 2015

Today’s show starts like everyone’s this morning, sorting out the report of a shooting at the Washington Navy Yard. Greg Dworkin helps answer “Why is Donald Trump Polling So Well?” Maybe the GOP is ahead of the curve sometimes, but usually not. Is the value of hard work paying off a conservative value? And - how the election will play out with our “Kaleidoscope Society.” Terribly written open carry laws lead to terrible results in Florida and Mississippi. Tech geniuses and business leaders that started out barking up the wrong tree.

They also talk Crass Dick Harpootlian, how support of the Supreme Court will be a litmus test for both parties in ’16, and ISIS cake bakers.
